It’s some kind of horror, not a hotel, it’s dirty all around, the bed is terrible and towels too, it’s scary even to use them, the rooms are like a stable, the food is terrible, nothing can be driven into the soul, but we must pay tribute to the bread - very tasty - this is one of the onlypluses! True, there is still wi-fi. The shower room and toilet are also a monster, I don’t know who gave him 3 stars, he hardly pulls two, I don’t advise anyone, because it’s one hassle! TV stands for furniture - does not work. In my practice - this is the first such terrible hotel troika abroad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I would like some pastries or a biscuit for tea. The rooms are cleaned every day. Geographically, the hotel is located near the Heroes' Square. There is a bus stop next to the hotel. Bus number 105 also reaches the Heroes' Square, and goes along Andrá ssy Avenue, and right up to the Buda side. That is, you can easily get to most of the sights. Travel tickets can be bought directly at the reception. For those who come to Budapest to get acquainted with the city and plan to spend a minimum of their time in the hotel, Oriental is just right.

My husband and I chose Budapest for a vacation, a "budget" option, a 3 * hotel, so I was afraid that the conditions would not be the best... well, you understand. Moreover, after reading the reviews about the hotel, I completely lost heart. WHAT WAS MY SURPRISE when I got to the hotel, and in particular to the room! WHAT WAS MY SURPRISE when I got to the hotel, and in particular to the room!
We, as a married couple, were accommodated in a two-room suite with new light furniture (bar counter, dressing table in the bedroom, wardrobe, small TV, soft corner and double bed)
The toilet is combined with the bathroom, spacious, all in marbled tiles, with a large mirror, and a wall-to-wall worktop, clean.
Cleaned every day, no traces of "climbing" into our things were noticed.
As for breakfast, yes, the cuisine is unusual, mostly spicy, but the choice is large enough and you can not take the main dishes, but you will be perfectly satisfied with coffee with milk, tea, yogurt, juice + buters with various pates and types of sausages. Everything was fresh.
And in general, it’s strange to expect that you will be fed in Hungary with buckwheat porridge with a cutlet. Well, they don’t eat that there!
Separately, they were outraged by the complaints about the location of the hotel. Where did you see the industrial zone there??? ? Did they always come back drunk?
The hotel is located in a normal residential area, close to shops (food and industrial), banks.
By the way, in 5 minutes walk from the hotel there is a church of wonderful beauty, around a small park.
Once again about the hotel, at the reception they speak Russian, everyone is very polite and accommodating.
But of the minuses, I can name only the curtains in the room. There were no holes on them (as they wrote here), but the fabric was not very pretty.
Well, if that's what matters to you, don't stay at this hotel.
And for others who go to see the beauties of old Buda, have fun in the baths, see beautiful paintings in museums, etc. , etc. , and not sit in a room, you are here!

I liked the trip very much. One of the few downsides is the hotel. The rooms were not cleaned all 4 days of our stay. The rooms are small, as for the 3-bed where we lived, so in general a closet! When we spent the night in a transit hotel, I don’t even remember the name of the city, because the conditions there were much better. Repeatedly our guide tried to find out something about the heating, but to no avail. Promised, but nothing has changed. Wouldn't want to stay at this hotel again!

I always do this - I put everything off until the last moment. So this time, it seems, I began to select a tour for a month, but as before the final decision, I had to do everything ahead of the locomotive in a week. Thank God that there was one seat available on the bus and without hesitation I immediately booked it for myself. On the train to Lviv, there things were put in a luggage room and a sightseeing tour of the city began. Lviv was very pleasantly surprised with old buildings, cathedrals, churches. It is a very beautiful city, but it is dirty and has sewage problems. Perhaps I would call Lviv the cultural capital of Ukraine, at least it seemed to me so. The guide - a pretty and pleasant girl, very educated and intelligent, conducted an entertaining tour and it was impossible to break away from her stories.
But you still had to take a bunch of pictures, which took somewhere around 400 megabytes. After the tour, there was dinner at the Pot-bellied Hut, to be honest, it was not very tasty and a little expensive. But there is still a little time left to walk around the city and at 21-00, when everyone gathered and registered, our guide in Hungary, Mikhail, handed out passports and gift discs to everyone. And so we hit the road. I must say right away that we were lucky with Mikhail, a very responsive and pleasant person, he helped in all cases. In general, the organization of the trip is excellent. Everything that is scheduled by the minute, is performed by the same minutes. The company's service is very good. Of course, there are drawbacks, but I will dwell on them a little later. So until the border, Michael told us the whole program and answered all our questions. Then there was a sanitary stop for half an hour with tea and coffee. We went through all the formal procedures at the border very quickly, we didn’t even have to get off the bus.
And now I want to share the first practical advice. If you have the Miskolc baths in the morning, then on the Hungarian side, exchange 20 euros or 20 dollars for forints. No more, the exchange rate at customs is not very profitable. For example, I changed 20 euros at the rate of 265 forints per 1 euro, and then in Budapest there was a rate of 272 forints per euro. So, all the procedures are completed, the passports are stamped, the time is set back an hour, and we are leaving for Miskolc.

At 07-30 again a sanitary stop, people wash their faces, tea, coffee, breakfast, and at 09-00 everyone is already standing near the Miskolc baths. This pleasure costs 1440 forints for 3 hours (5.5 euros). It should be noted that the company prepared the program very well. After a night move, immediately finding yourself in thermal baths is a concrete relaxation. You rest both in body and soul.
2nd practical advice - after going down to the bath, immediately go into a dark room, the water is hot there and the atmosphere is made in a peculiar way - the night starry sky and water lighting create insane intimacy. Plus, there's a colossal echo. In the morning there is no one there and you can have a good rest, but already an hour after the opening, a lot of people are crowded, everyone is mumbling and creating only chaos. In general, these baths are a cool idea, gaining new strength for moving to Budapest. At 15-30 we have already settled in our hotel ORIENTAL *** (Fay utca).

A few words about the hotel - the hotel is after renovation, plastic windows, refrigerator, telephone, shower, toilet in the room. In general, everything for a hotel of this category. I was very pleased with them. To Heroes' Square by bus 10 minutes. There is a Chinese market next to the hotel. The breakfast is normal, no one controlled us, so people endured so much food from breakfast that it was at least enough for lunch.
Having settled in the hotel and having a rest for a while, at 17-00 a sightseeing tour from the Heroes' Square began. The guide Larisa joined us, her stories were very interesting. But in general, everything was galloping across Europe. Therefore, my next practical advice to you is to calmly visit a sightseeing tour to be aware of where and what is located, and the next day you yourself can see it all without fuss.

So, the sightseeing tour included - pl. Geroev, Vajdahunyad Castle, St. Stephen's Basilica, bus ride near the parliament (there were demonstrations at that time about the resignation of the prime minister), crossing the Szechenyi bridge and walking along Buda (fisherman's bastion, Mattias Church, Habsburg Palace). Only 5 hours. Of course, everything is running and hastily, but still the first impressions are very strong. It seemed to me that Budapest is more beautiful than Prague and Barcelona. Especially in the night lights. Tired and satisfied with the first day, we returned to the hotel exhausted.
And tomorrow in the morning we were waiting for a trip to Szentendre, then the Campona shopping center and something else I don’t remember. But I, as a person hardened by various trips (Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Spain), came up with my own program. Having had breakfast early, at 08-00 armed with a map, I left the hotel. There is a beautiful Catholic church next to the hotel, then I bought bus tickets (1 ticket costs 185 forints or 70 euro cents) and drove to Andrá ssy Street. THIS is a very wide and fashionable street. There are embassies and ancient buildings on it. The building of the former KGB, a very original building of the ballet school and the opera house, were restored in a peculiar way. To be honest, it was not possible to see all this during the sightseeing tour. At this time, our group went to Szentendre (excursion for 15 euros). I decided to go there on my own the next day. And now I went to the Basilica of St. Stephen (this is the first king of Hungary).
Entrance to the temple is free, but to go upstairs you need to pay 500 forints (1.85 euros). The views there are amazing, that's where lovers of photography and video filming can roam. Then I go out to the Danube and admire the Buda side. I go to the parliament, where demonstrations are taking place, I communicate with the population, I take pictures with flags. Everything is very calm and colorful. It should be noted that there are no problems with English in Budapest, rather, I had problems with English. BUT nothing, on a mixture of English, Russian and French, all problems are always solved. Then I go to Vigado ter. , boats with a walk along the Danube leave every hour (2500 forints per hour or 9.3 euros). Headphones are given out at the entrance and you can listen to the tour in any language and a drink of your choice.

An amazing walk - the parliament building, you just freeze, it seems that this is a living creature.
In general, crazy positive comes from Budapest, as if you are not abroad, but at home - it is so easy and pleasant. I click photos one by one, since the digital camera allows all this. A walk along the Danube inspires and fills you with values like “how people lived, how they felt subtly”. After the walk, I thought to go to the Buda side, but it was not there. Rakoczi Avenue began next to Vigado ter. It's good that I got here, the buildings are like toys, there are a lot of antiquities, the look cannot be taken away. Deeper and deeper I enter Rakoczi, further and further away from the Buda side. I will say right away that I did not get to Buda that day. Turning left from Rakoczi, I walked along a beautiful street (I don’t remember its name). I made a phone call and made an appointment with some of my friends. Our people who moved to Budapest a few years ago to live. There were still 2 hours before the meeting and I managed to go to the hotel, take a shower, have lunch and even relax.
During the meeting, they told me, of course, the most important thing in such trips is how to spend the evening and night with benefits for the body. All the hot spots were marked on the map, namely strip bars with show programs. One of these I decided to visit this evening. He was not far from the same Rakoczi. However, before that, I managed to visit even near the night parliament. There were already many people, many flags, ribbons, badges, various banners. One was even in Russian - like NO COMRADES !!!! ! I hung out with them for a bit, took a picture, made a video, and somehow it got boring already. So I decided to return to Rakoczi.

As soon as the strip bar was already open, I went in, but there were still few people. The program started an hour later and I could calmly drink a beer and consider the situation. A small bar, apparently for a narrow audience, although people kept coming and coming. Waitress girls in leather tops delivered orders, people talked calmly.
As a matter of fact, I even missed the beginning of the program, there were no announcements, no one invited me to go to another room. It was only by the movement of people that I realized that something had begun in the next room. And there, indeed, the set was already extinguished, the phonogram and light music were turned on. A girl in a miniskirt, blouse and tie ran out onto the stage and started circling around the pole, gradually taking off all her clothes. I will not describe everything specifically, because each of you could observe something similar many times with us. I'll just add that another girl came out after her, and then a naked girl and a guy immediately appeared on the stage. Just then, a slight rumble went through the hall. Apparently People didn't expect this. Well, immediately, how to put it mildly, an orgy began on the stage (oral, vaginal, anal sex). All this to the music and in the rhythm of the dance with groans and sighs. The only unusual thing is that I have not seen anything like this in Ukraine.
But I know it's very common in Europe. Let me just say that they faked an orgasm. All this spectacle cost me 1900 forints (7 euros), including a liter of beer. On this day, I was no less tired than the previous one, so I took a taxi to the hotel (10 euros, although it's a little expensive, it would probably take 7 to get there). But on a Mercedes and quickly - in half an hour I was already lying in my room and thinking about how I would spend the next day.

After breakfast (I want to mention one very tasty salad - pineapple mixed with black and white currants, such a dark purple color), I decided to visit Szentendre. I got to Deak Ferens ter, changed to the metro (red line) and got to the Bathany station, from where every 10 minutes there is a HEV (train, very decent, with soft seats) to Szentendre. A round trip ticket costs 994 forints (3.7 euros). Yesterday's tour cost 15 euros. After 45 minutes I was already in Szentendre. A small town, cozy with many souvenir shops and churches in the Orthodox style.
There is a museum and a marzipan shop where I bought gifts and souvenirs. I took a lot of pictures and went back. In general, I will say that a trip to Szentendre for 15 euros is not worth it. If you want, you can go yourself, otherwise you can buy marzipans on the market in Budapest.

Back in Budapest, I visited Westend City, a huge shopping mall, where I bought CDs of Hungarian music. The price is very high, somewhere around 4300 forints per disc (16 euros). Then he moved to the Tesco supermarket, bought some groceries and, of course, alcohol - a 0.5 liter martini costs 840-890 forints (20 hryvnias), a 0.75 liter cinzano costs 1090 forints (25 hryvnias) - the prices are simply ridiculous. Returned to the hotel, rested, dined and back to the city. It was already evening and I did not get into Buda again. What a vicious circle. But I walked around Pest, was again near the parliament - the demonstrators clearly increased - they said that a lot came from the provinces for the weekend. Closer to 22-00 I decided to visit another bar.
I didn’t find anything special there - booze, girls dancing, nothing of yesterday even came close. Got home by taxi for 8 euros. On this day, our group went to Balaton. Their impressions were different, but if everything is reduced to a common denominator, then it is not worth it (25 euros excursion + lunch 8 euros). The same Sea of Azov, only overgrown with reeds. On the way back we got stuck in a traffic jam. We arrived at the hotel at 9 pm - they didn’t want anything anymore.

I am very pleased that I immediately refused group tours. The next day, in the morning, I knew - today only Buda. Although in the morning I had to stay in Pest again. I walked along the embankment, where the girl-princess is and went to the chain bridge of Istvan Szé chenyi. Very beautiful arches, reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. I took the funicular up to the Habsburg Palace, a beautiful view of Pest opens from there. I walked to the Mattias Church, along the Fisherman's Bastion.
In general, it should be noted that the weather was warm and windless. Everyone was wearing T-shirts. Budapest itself is an expensive city, housing, food is expensive, for example, a 0.5 liter bottle of water costs 230 forints (0.85 euros). Lunch in Pest: 1st, 2nd costs 7 euros per person. In the evening of the same day, I returned to the fishing bastion again and just sat there and relaxed. It was so cool to sit quietly, smoke and relax to enjoy this simplicity and magnificence. And speeches of demonstrators were heard from the parliament, but this rather supplemented this crazy atmosphere of joy and happiness. Of course, on this last evening in Budapest, I could not fail to come to the Parliament. Perhaps here I was the most. I rode the bus to the square. Geroev and took a picture there at night. The backlight is awesome. I decided not to spend money on a taxi and took the bus to the hotel. I went to bed late, packed all my things.
After breakfast in the morning, we checked out of the hotel and headed to Eger - a small, cozy and beautiful town.

One claim to the travel agency - you need to give at least an hour of free time in Eger to inspect the fortress. Then moving to the Valley of Beautiful Women, tasting Hungarian wines and lunch. To be honest, after last year's French and Spanish wines, the Hungarian wines didn't impress at all. I didn't even bring home a liter. Lunch - 1600 forints (6 euros) without wine. Further, the way to Debrecen - a visit to the water park (1300 forints for 2 hours or 5 euros). The water park is covered, it cannot be said that it is super-duper, but mediocre. Before the overnight move to Ukraine, it was great. And before returning home, our last stop was the Tesco supermarket - here we spent our last forints. From Tesco to the border in just half an hour. Strangely, there were no queues at customs and we went through both customs probably in an hour. And at 07-30 in the morning we were already in Lviv.
Now I want to summarize everything:
1. the trip is wonderful, the organization of the trip by the travel agency exceeded my expectations, Hungary is worth a visit.
2. Before the trip, be sure to decide on your priorities (what do you want Budapest or the hinterland itself), for which read the reviews on the Internet and look at the photos.
3. if you have any questions, write to me at the address: plaz1@rambler. ru and I will answer with pleasure.

in general, it was really scary. It hasn't been worse before or since.
the hotel is suitable only for overnight stays on tourist trips. A kind of extra economy class tour.
