- 3-4 metro stops from the city center (stop under the hotel).

- Clean, comfortable, beautiful.

- Cleaning every day, linen change every other day.

[-]

- At the reception, one "comrade" always included a "fool", on any issue "I don't understand". Whether he is a Russophobe, or a pest. I even wrote to him in Hungarian on a piece of paper - all the same, I didn’t understand the type and huffed.

- maybe I "snickered", but what a miserable buffet.

The flight was made on a regular flight "Malev". During the flight, we were fed something national and offered a choice of white and red wine.
We stayed at the Ibis hotel on Vaci ut (3 stars) with breakfast.
When choosing an Ibis hotel in Budapest, keep in mind that there are at least 3 Ibis hotels in the city in different parts of the city.
Hotel "Ibis" on Vaci ut. in terms of price-quality ratio, it fully met our expectations. In terms of service - pulls on 4 stars.
The hotel is located in a quiet residential area of Pest, but not far from the center. Under the windows there is a metro station (blue line), a public transport stop.
The rooms are spacious with a balcony. The room has air conditioning, TV with 1 Russian channel (it is better not to watch it - serials and advertising).
They cleaned the room and changed the towel every day.
Safe - at the reception for free.
Buffet breakfast, but varied: risotto, scrambled eggs, pasta, lecho, muesli, local spicy pickles, several types of cheeses and sausages, several types of juices, coffee machine, tea bags, muffins, buns, apples and sliced oranges , grapefruits, bananas. You won't leave the table hungry.
Of the shortcomings - the lack of a refrigerator in the room, hair dryer and cutlery (only 2 glasses). But in principle, the beer did not have time to warm up, and the desire to have a bite of local spicy salami at night did not arise because of the plentiful portions for dinner.
It was not possible to find a cafe in the nearest district, only a cheap Chinese eatery, of which there are many in the city (for all the time I have not seen anyone eat in them except for the Asians themselves - that's why I myself abstained), and bars (perhaps during daylight hours they and work as a cafe).
A little further down Vá ci ut from the center was a small grocery store that was open until late.
At a distance of 1 st. metro (10 minutes walk) there is a market (fresh fruits, vegetables and groceries). The market closes at 4:00 pm.
Further along this street is a large shopping center "Westend City Centr". In the shopping center manufactured goods for every taste and budget, incl. quality German goods at an affordable price, food department store. On the ground floor there are many cafes with tables in the common room, and on the top floor there are several restaurants that work until late. If you continue moving further towards the center, you will find yourself in the area of Nyugati station - there is a larger choice of restaurants.
You can pay in shops and restaurants in Budapest in forints or euros. And it seemed to me that in forints - even cheaper. In other parts of Hungary, the euro was not accepted everywhere. The best option is to pay by credit card. In Budapest, this was not a problem. We did just that. Changed only pocket money for coffee, souvenirs and tickets. Moreover, the most favorable rate was offered in banks in the center (you could even find an exchange of rubles), worse in a hotel and not at all profitable - at the airport.
Additional excursions in Hungary were purchased on the spot. True, the price for them for some reason was 10 euros more expensive than offered by the tour operator in Russia.
I liked that there were no collection points on the excursions, and the bus collected and transported tourists to hotels. Moreover, the Ibis Vaci Ut hotel was, as a rule, one of the first on the route.
Of the memorable trips to Hungary, the most memorable trip to Balaton with swimming in the lake. Heviz, baths in the grottoes of Miskolc-Tapolca, and to Bratislava. All excursions around the neighborhood took the whole day and included a hearty lunch with national cuisine.
We were generally lucky with the weather. We left Moscow with cloudy weather and gardens just beginning to bloom, but ended up in sunny Hungary where the weather is + 24-27. The gardens have already faded, local strawberries are being sold in the market with might and main. True, for two days the weather changed dramatically for the worse - a sharp cold wind, prolonged rain and the temperature dropped to +16. But she also recovered sharply. Perhaps such unstable weather in May is characteristic of Europe.
In general, the holiday was a success. We successfully combined the cultural and educational program with wellness procedures (they visited the Szecheniye baths). I learned a lot about the history of Hungary and its hospitable people. I liked hearty and spicy Hungarian cuisine, wonderful Eger wines and, of course, tokay azu.
I regret that I did not get into the Gelert bath and refused to stand in line to visit the Parliament. I would like to once again wander through the evening streets of Buda and take a farewell look at the neo-Gothic parliament building.
But still, Hungary is a country of “single entry”. A week was enough to get to know and fall in love with this region. However, if there is no medical prescription for treatment, you won’t go there specially for the second time. There are many other attractive places waiting for me! Although it would probably be interesting to plunge into the thermal waters of Lake Heviz on New Year's Eve.

The hotel is VERY clean. We lived on the 10th floor. The rooms are not small. A good mattress. For the third person in the room, they lay out a sofa-"deuce". For the third person in the room, they lay out a sofa-"deuce". The bathroom is very clean, towels are changed every day, but they must be thrown on the floor. There was no balcony. But there was a great view from the window - on a beautiful church. The air conditioner was never turned on - there was no need. Cons - some dead lamps, like nightlights, you will not read. There is a TV with one Russian program. Breakfast is good and edible without heartburn - scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, lecho, rice, pasta, some salads, very tasty yogurt, which must be taken from the basin with a spoon. It is very good with canned pears (standing right there), three types of decent cheese and tasteless sausage, vegetables, apples, oranges, cut into slices, tea, coffee, corn flakes, juices from the machine. But EVERY DAY IS THE SAME. In the end, it is impossible to look at the lecho.
Once we went to the same restaurant in the evening - we ate dessert, the service is good, inexpensive, but we didn’t like the desserts at all. At the reception, everyone is very nice, they speak English, they are ready to help, well, whatever you want - they will tell you, teach you, etc. It's nice that we arrived at 10 am, and twenty minutes later they put us in the room (although according to the rules - after 2 pm). The hotel is well located - 20 minutes walk to the park there is a castle, a lake with ducks, Szé chenyi baths (I recommend - inexpensive and very pleasant). Take your food and drink in the baths - inside is a bit expensive catering. And of course slippers, a swimsuit and a towel. On the other side of the hotel on foot - the Danube and the island of Margaret, where it is very good to walk. We accidentally got to the international synchronized swimming competitions there, it was very beautiful and Russia won. On the third side (up) from the hotel 15 minutes to the collective farm market - raspberries, blueberries, currants, blackberries, all sorts of sausages, and of course peaches. Near the bottom of the catering-type cafe where the Hungarians go, but cheap and tasty. On the second floor of the market there is a coffee house (I recommend), a glass shop (wine on tap - I recommend! ) And all sorts of rags - we bought a blanket. At the market, no one shortchanges or deceives. The rest of the hotel can be reached by metro, tickets must be taken - controllers go in clouds. Good places are the opera (I recommend not going to see the interior with a tour, but buying tickets for the opera itself - the money is the same, but the pleasure is incomparable) and on the train to Esztergom, stunning views and a basilica. But you don’t need to dine in Esztergom, but you need to cross the bridge to Slovakia on foot and dine there. In Slovakia they accept the euro and speak Russian. Further - personal impressions (I do not insist): Goose liver pate is rubbish. No need to collect it as souvenirs. Galushka is rubbish (a bad cake). Goulash soup is tasty and original, but you won’t eat it a second time. Fish soup is the same. Who is not a millionaire, do not eat in restaurants in the center or close to the center, we paid 24 thousand forints for a dinner for two with wine. The prices for wine on the menu are not per glass, but per 10 deciliters. It was not expensive in a restaurant near the hotel up Vaci Street - 7 thousand for three with beer. The beer is acceptable, the bread is delicious. Portions are NOT HUGE. From purchases - it is worth buying shoes in Salamander stores. Excellent PIC salami (worth buying as a souvenir). The wine is good. The fisherman's bastion and everything around it is bullshit. Not interested, a lot of people, hustle and go uphill. I really liked to ride the cable car and walk through the Buda mountains on foot. Zoo - normal, giraffes bother. This is all. I wish you all good luck!
