Croatia by scooter
As for me, in Croatia you should not go to a hotel. The best option is a villa without meals (maximum breakfast). Hotels there are unreasonably expensive, public beaches are small and crowded. It is good to go to wild and secluded places. My husband and I took a scooter (moped) for rent (it's there on every corner) and drove it to places where there was almost no one. With a scooter, unlike a car, there are no problems with parking in cities - even put it on the sidewalk, like a bicycle, and it’s cheaper for money for fuel. And in general - romance! : ) We traveled half the coast - from Split to Dubrovnik (part of it was by car with friends). We got a lot of pleasure from such a free and unattached life! (We both just don't like lying on the beach like vegetables). Croatia is a country for active tourists. Going to lie on the beach is in Turkey : )
It is a pity that for the citizens of Ukraine there are such difficulties with a visa - that you won’t go there yourself, you just need to apply for a tour... Ag-va ask for apartments 65-80 euros per day (without meals), The place is full of offers for 30-40 euros.
Of the sights, I really liked Dubrovnik and Plitvice Lakes (the latter are a must to visit! ). Split and Trogir are also beautiful cities.
P. S. Turag-vo first settled us in the town of Kastela near Split. Do not under any circumstances go there! There is a terribly dirty sea - it is a stagnant bay + an industrial zone nearby.
Of the resorts, starting from central Dalmatia (I haven’t been in the north of the country, I can’t say anything) good places are the towns of the Makarska Riviera (although there is nothing to catch there besides the beach and entertainment), Brac Island. Although the famous Horn beach is actually nothing interesting, it is an ordinary large-pebble spit. And he is beautiful only in pictures or from above, with the so-called. "Vidovaya Gora" (about 600 m above sea level, we also drove there on a scooter. And on the island itself from the continent with the same scooter we crossed by ferry from Split).
About the beaches. They are mostly concrete, at best - large pebbles. Although concrete is not the worst option. We were in undeveloped places, and realized that the natural Croatian landscape of the coast is sharp boulders, on which it is unrealistic to walk barefoot. Well, it’s clear about the sea - it’s not for nothing that the Adriatic is considered one of the most beautiful seas in Europe (or even the world? ). Very clean and salty. Color - unreal turquoise blue! Although there is not much to do there with a mask and snorkel (as well as glass-boat excursions), this is not the Red Sea.
And further. Whatever it was - Croatia is Europe! (albeit central). It is absolutely safe to leave the scooter for the night under the entrance or on the sidewalk, you are allowed to pass everywhere on the roads, the problems that have arisen are solved quite easily.
In general, Croatia is the purest sea of romance!! !
