I was in Croatia for the first time and rested in the Pollux Hotel in Rabac in June-July 2008. Rabac is a very small town, cozy, picturesque, so to speak, all in mountains and pines, and with wonderful air, especially in the morning when the aromas of the sea and pine needles mix. There were not so many tourists, but there were enough people, mostly guests from nearby foreign countries visiting Croatia by private car. The main feature of the resort is family vacation. Actually, I chose such a place because I went with my mother. And I didn't guess.
"Pollux" is also a small hotel (in principle, I have not seen a single large hotel there) with friendly staff, cheerful animators and beautiful rooms. The cuisine is quite diverse, a lot of fruits, drinks (judging by myself, because I am not a special eater, but when compared with Turkey, where they are fed for slaughter 24 hours a day, I admit that the proposed diet may seem meager to someone) . The animation is funny, though in English. I don’t have a language barrier - it’s easier for me, but I can say that my mother, who only learned the language at school, didn’t feel embarrassed either. True, the musical arrangement is somewhat monotonous. Here I repeat: those who are eager to hang out in Rabac have absolutely nothing to do.
Important information for girls and guys who are afraid to let their girlfriends and wives travel without their sensitive accompaniment: no one, like in Turkey or Egypt, will pester you at every corner with ambiguous antics, smiles, tricks and direct offers to relax in full, although, if you really want, as they say, it will not be difficult for suffering tourists to find entertainment for their soul and body, but it’s like everywhere else.

The sea is awesome. I can't find any other words. Clean, beautiful, delicious (not that I slurp sea water, I just don't know how else to describe it, don't get me wrong). Someone will probably not be satisfied with the beaches, which are large and sharp pebbles or huge boulders, on which tourists are located, but these small inconveniences are compensated for by everyone else, and the opportunity to use sunbeds for a fee is smoothed out.
Among the excursions we chose a boat trip and Plitvice Lakes. Both left indelible impressions and vivid photographs. The first was remembered by the wonderful cities of Poreč and Rovinj, which we managed to see quite fully, and the second by the natural beauties. Recomend for everybody.
After this trip, I fell in love with Croatia and now I understand why it is one of the most returnable countries.
At times, only some employees of our travel operator VKO spoiled the rest, but as far as I understood from conversations with PAKS, tourists suffered more. It remains to be hoped that they learn from their mistakes, and you will not encounter those minor problems (for example, waiting for an hour and a half on an asphalt site under the scorching sun of a tourist bus) that we overcame. Good luck.
