I want to write a review, because when my daughter and I were going to go to the Aurora 3 * hotel in the town of Podgora, there was very little information. Therefore, I won’t write much about the beautiful nature of Croatia, beautiful Croats, real Mediterranean cuisine, about the fact that this is Europe, and not Turkey and Egypt.
The hotel was renovated in 2006 and in principle everything is very good. Solid three stars. The owner is a German, so there are many Germans among the vacationers, but there were also many Croats, Macedonians, Slovenes. The attitude towards everyone is equally pleasant. Our compatriots were not seen on the beach, and there were 5-7 people in the hotel. This is certainly not 5 stars, but very clean, the bed was changed every 5 days, towels 1 time in 3 days. Toilet paper is unmeasured, but there is no soap and shampoo, a hairdryer also needs to be ordered at the reception (free of charge). The maid and all the staff are very inconspicuous, it was not necessary to give anyone a tip. Employees at the reception speak English, German, Italian, understand a little Russian. Very smiling. The Croatian language has a lot of words similar to Ukrainian and Russian, so my daughter and I did not feel the language barrier.
A safe for storing money can be rented at the reception for a fee - 10 kunas per day - this is about 15 hryvnias. In the room we left our wallet, cell phones, phones on the bedside table and nothing happened to them, as, by the way, on the beach. The bag with things and money was left unattended and everything was fine.

Currency. 1 dollar - 5 kunas, 1 euro - 7.4 kunas, as we had in Ukraine last year. I recommend changing it at the office of the Splitska Bank, 20 meters from the hotel along the promenade. At the reception and in agencies, the rate is underestimated, for every hundred dollars you will lose about 20 kunas.
The food is good, we took breakfast - a buffet (who has been to Europe knows what it is, so do not have high hopes, but excellent natural coffee, good juices, different types of tea, yogurt, fruit syrups, sausages, sausage, cheeses and fruits available in unlimited quantities) and dinner - menu. Dinner is excellent - always fresh sea fish, chicken or turkey, beef or pork, rice, potatoes and a lot of boiled vegetables as a side dish. And our taste, not Egyptian. The portions are huge. In addition, there are also snacks, there are not many of them, but also from seafood. And of course olives, olives, fresh vegetables and fruits, puddings, cakes, ice cream. Drinks are not included, but we took water or wine with us, or you can order right there from the waiters, they come up to you and ask. Prices are the same as in city cafes. Calculation immediately. On Thursdays, don't be late for a Dalmatian evening - at 19.00 they are treated to grass and juice and live music in the restaurant. And instead of lunch, we drank beer and coffee in the city - very tasty.
Beach. 10 meters from the hotel in the truest sense of the word. Small pebbles, but right next to the hotel it is narrow and there are a lot of people, so we went to the end of the town to the left of Aurora - there is generally super - pebbles, sand and pine trees instead of umbrellas. Sunbeds for rent are expensive - 30 kunas, it is better to buy a foam padding and there are no problems. At night you can leave on the beach - no one will touch. I took slippers to enter the sea, but I did not need them.
Excursions. We went to Dubrovnik, Split-Trogir, rafting on the Cetina River and Plitvice Lakes, an evening boat trip to Makarska. Everything is very beautiful. But if you are limited in funds, then definitely Dubrovnik and Plitvice Lakes.

Entertainment. In the evening, a cafe, a restaurant, a bar with live music, sometimes evenings held by local residents with music, competitions, seafood. I was 45 years old and it suited me, but my daughter was 20 and she was a little bit bored. Disco only in Makarska (10 kilometers from Podgora).
Souvenirs. Excellent dry white and red wines, Maraschino cherry liqueur, olive oil and, of course, Pag cheese, it is expensive, but we don’t even get close to trying this. All this, by the way, can be bought at the airport in duty-free, and, moreover, very beautifully designed.
There were no unpleasant moments during the 15 days of our stay in the country. Everyone is happy.
And special huge thanks to our guide from Zeta - Irina, who met us, saw us off, took us on excursions, took care of us, looked for those who were behind, gave advice. Very energetic, friendly, completely without nerves.
And the main advice to all vacationers - A PERSON SUFFERS NOT FROM CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT FROM ATTITUDE TO THEM.
