The hotel did not disappoint, the food is excellent, a large selection of seafood, the rooms are in good repair, although we did not catch Wi-Fi, but otherwise there were no problems. In September, the majority of vacationers at the hotel are pensioners from Europe, if you need to move, you are not here.
There is a spa salon, prices are high, I ordered a range of services, the quality of service disappointed me.
But in general, the impression is only positive, in my opinion a solid 4 +.

So I had a rest this summer in the hotel "Croatia" (hotel "Croatia") in Croatia (p. Cavtat) +: view from hotel, rooms, beach; Fresh air (the hotel is located in the forest); Quiet and peaceful in the hotel; Free WiFi close to the village; A car that takes you to the village (free of charge) and the beach, but you still need to walk (5-10min); without a car, you need to walk up the stairs, since the hotel has a mountainous area for 15-20 minutes I didn't find any others.

So I had a rest this summer in the hotel "Croatia" (hotel "Croatia") in Croatia (p. Cavtat)
+:
view from hotel, rooms, beach;
Fresh air (the hotel is located in the forest);
Quiet and peaceful in the hotel;
Free WiFi
close to the village;
A car that takes you to the village (free of charge) and the beach, but you still need to walk (5-10min); without a car, you need to walk up the stairs, since the hotel has a mountainous area for 15-20 minutes
I didn't find any others.
-:
I will write everything down point by point and briefly, so as not to waste time on a long story:
1. Terrible infrastructure:
-mountainous terrain, forest,
- a lot of mosquitoes
- steps everywhere to get into the city, to the beach;
2. Housekeeping:
-do not vacuum or only once a week, which was surprising in 5 *;
-The bed was changed on request after 9 days (I rested 14 days in total)
3. Service low:
- there are a lot of working personnel, but they work poorly without fulfilling their duties (they do everything slowly, or in some cases it is necessary to forcefully ask for something and force them to do it)
-When requesting an additional key, they did not ask for documents or initials, which once again confirms the lack of professionalism and that the hotel has unorganized staff, since not professionals work, but students
- not everyone has badges
4. The hotel has 3 elevators, which are too small and non-functional, so again you have to walk;
5. There is no animation and nothing to do both during the day and in the evening (theoretically, the hotel had 2 animators and some kind of "animation program", but I rarely met animators and they were boring and a maximum of 5-6 people from all over went to their proposed activities hotel;
-the work of the animator was until 6 pm and after that we asked why there was nothing for which we were told to go to a bar on the beach and they couldn’t offer us anything more. Once a week, a mini disco for children worked where it was not interesting for the children themselves (again, there are enough children in the hotel and there were 3-4 children on the dance floor along with the animator, everyone else just ran or walked in another place). I also worked once a week the so-called club in which the discotheque of the 70s was held, but the music played quietly on it and all the people (40-65 years old) sat like in a bar and drank something without dancing;
6. Far from the beach, unwritten, entry into the sea on the steps;
Another disadvantage are uncomfortable lying on the beach
The towels that are given out on the beach are small, leaky and dirty in places, so everyone takes 2, which was also surprising in the first days.
So, the hotel is designed for the pristine and, as for me, they will be bored there. I don’t know for what audience it was built, but having visited many hotels in the world (in particular in Croatia), I can say that the hotel is far from ideal and represented by 5 stars. If you choose a hotel in Croatia, then I advise you to go near Dubrovnik or if you consider the option with the village of Cavtat, then this is only Albatros 4 * which by all criteria overtakes the Croatia 5 * hotel, because one of its drawbacks is that it is relatively far from the village (20min).
The impressions of the hotel were not very good and one more time I would definitely not choose it and not go there.

I will not describe what is written everywhere. What I didn't understand when I read other people's reviews was the beach. The beach is a concrete slab, sun loungers are included in the price of the tour, towels are issued free of charge, umbrellas too. The hotel has a main beach - you can go down the stairs through the pool or exit from the side, where the reception is.

You do not need to borrow anything - there are always free places - even at 12 noon.
The second beach - you need to go down to the 1st floor - access to the beach which is stones, and the third nudist one is on the right.
The food is delicious. Like homemade food. Dinner was always meat and fish.
Very high level.
There is a branch of OTP bank in Cavtat. Minimarket - everything is sold there - even raw meat (salami, cheese, vegetables, fruits, beer, water, bread). Opposite the mini market, there is a market. Cherries 6 euros, raspberries 4 euros-box.
Dinner in a restaurant for two - 2 fish + 2 beer 0.3 = 50 euros.
We went by boat to Dubrovnik. There and back 10 euros per person.
Runs every hour.
Beauty is like in a fairy tale...The water is turquoise.
Fir, pine - the air simply vibrates with usefulness.
There is a promenade, 2-4 km. I liked it very much.
The hotel is a good level 4+.

In absentia, the advantages were several beaches and an interesting village nearby, where there are many restaurants and shops. The price was also competitive.
Upon arrival, we were not disappointed.
-From the airport 5 km
-Great location - on a peninsula in a coniferous forest, the views are amazing. Nuance - view from the window of the park-view room on the slope of the mountain
-Architecture of the 70s, the hotel is inscribed in the rock, but the interior is expensive and modern
- The rooms are moderately spacious, excellent air conditioning, expensive plumbing, a very comfortable mattress, there is a Russian channel, they clean well. Cleaning starts early, at 8 o'clock, close the door at night! (Knock-knock and the maid opens the door, and you are still sleeping)
-Breakfast is varied and tasty, a lot of fruits, meat dishes, vegetables. View from the veranda to the bay with luxury yachts
-Dinner - every evening themed (Croatian, Italian, Tex-Mex cuisine). Along with this, a huge selection of classic salads and main dishes. There are several a la carte restaurants.
- Separate conversation - beaches. All are free. The main one is concrete, with sun loungers, umbrellas and towels. Very beautiful view of the bay, the water is clean (the beach has a Blue Flag for the purity of the water). There is also a beach on the rocky side, regular and nudist. Towels can be borrowed from the pool. Pools two, with warm sea water. In the sea, the water is invigorating, especially in the morning.
-Cavtat is a very clean and beautiful town, there are a lot of restaurants on the embankment, prices are not higher than average restaurants in major cities of Ukraine. In the evening it is well lit, there are no discos and loud music. There are multi-million dollar yachts in the bay, which adds to the luxury. The locals are relaxed and friendly, do not haggle at all
-It is easy to get to Dubrovnik by sea (a topic for separate stories), we also went on excursions to the Elafiti Islands. Beautiful and entertaining, the sea is amazingly clean.
Since the hotel is on a mountain, there are steps everywhere. Very useful due to the amount of food at breakfast and dinner! For the elderly, there are cards for delivery to the beach.
The hotel has a lot of English, French, Italians and Russians. The staff is friendly, they speak English well, many speak Russian.
If you choose a 4-5 star hotel in Croatia, you won't regret it!

There is where to walk with a stroller, and beaches to choose from, shops and restaurants nearby. The service is good, everyone is friendly, no problems with the language barrier. It should be noted that the SPA services in the hotel are weak and the casino has not been operating for four years. A family-friendly hotel, many people come with children. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it. good luck!

In fact, the rating is more than 4. I would have put 4.6, but there was no choice. Everything is very good. One must clearly understand that the hotel is isolated from the rest of the world by stairs and / or steep roads. It's easier up the stairs than up the 40-degree walkway. Also, cleaning is far from 5 *, although the attendants are very friendly.

good afternoon, like everyone else, I want to share my impressions about the rest at the Croatia hotel. I want to say right away that I am a very spoiled tourist, and I have been to many places. I got to this hotel on the recommendation of friends, I resisted for a long time, but then I agreed, I rested together with my sister from 1.08 to 8.08. I want to warn you immediately: if you are flying on an early flight from Moscow, be prepared for the fact that you will be at the hotel at 9:30 local time and you will not be accommodated in the room, but will be offered to wait in the lobby, because the rooms are released at 12 and they still needs to be removed. You can negotiate at the reception, but only if you are a girl and smile sweetly, though then they often get it. The cost of an earlier informal settlement is 15-20 euros. The rooms have a bathrobe that is not changed for a whole week, no slippers, no kettle or coffee either. The bathroom has plumbing fixtures from leading manufacturers in the world, very comfortable, there was a table and chairs on horseback, the room is stylish, clean, not yet polluted. As for food: you will not be offered freshly squeezed juice for breakfast, and there is no cook there who will cook eggs at your request, everything is already prepared, but the assortment is quite large. I never like to relax with compatriots, firstly, the complete lack of culture and ignorance of foreign languages, in this regard, all the staff understand Russian, only they should speak more slowly. You have to go down the stairs to the beach - this is even better, for dinner they give many types of pasta with sauces. A mattress, a sunbed, an umbrella and a towel - everything is free, but it's better to come before 10, otherwise you'll have to bask by the pool, there just aren't enough places, as far as I understand = strangers come too. The sea and nature are just amazing. There are water activities on the beach, but the prices are not very cheap. You can dine in a restaurant on the beach, or you can walk to the Marina and dine in front of luxury yachts, by the way, it’s very nice to have a drink there in the evening. I can’t say that everyone is very sticky, the Croats are very intelligent. Of course, there are no such strong parties in the city, but the atmosphere itself is very pleasant, it is better to go either with a company or on a romantic trip. Have a nice holiday everyone

Rested in this hotel from 21 to 29 August 2008. We are quite satisfied with the rest, and I join all the positive reviews that were previously. But the problem of both the whole of Croatia and this hotel is the lack of information on the Internet, and excessive idealization, lack of information about the minuses, because they, like everything else, are in Croatia. Therefore, I want to first of all dwell on the shortcomings. This does not mean at all that I am overly capricious or dissatisfied with everything, it’s just that everything good has already been described in detail, but now, for objectivity, I will speak about other nuances.
Firstly, what people have already talked about, is that the hotel does not pull on 5 stars in any way, it is rather a solid four. The exterior is quite gray and the building is shabby and quite different from the photos presented on the internet. Inside, thank God, it's better than outside - both the corridors and the rooms look quite civilized. But here, too, still not 5 stars. For example, the rooms have a very small balcony. There are no items that, according to their status, are usually in 5 stars: for example, a kettle, a bathrobe in the bathroom, some additional cosmetic accessories - there is only soap and shampoo. By the way, I immediately praise that the TV in the room is quite large and plasma and broadcasts in addition to foreign as many as 2 Russian channels - it was a pleasant surprise.
The external pool in the hotel is too small and modest, and most importantly, what struck me negatively was that the water in it is salty...
There is no territory in the hotel as such - only one large multi-level building. Well, plus a couple of little things in the district on the slopes, such as a tennis court (by the way, quite decent).
The main beach of the hotel is located below. But its minus is not that it is far to go to it, in general it is not so, to go - a maximum of 5 minutes. Something else is unpleasant: this beach is not a beach at all, but just a piece of the embankment of the city of Cavtat. And right here on the embankment, everyone lies on deck chairs and dives into the water right from this embankment, in which yachts and all kinds of boats and boats go nearby... The only thing that is good on this beach is the scooters that are given there in rental, they are quite inexpensive for Europe - 400 kunas (about 67 euros) for half an hour, but in these half an hour you can ride so cool, go around all the nearby islands!
The second beach of the hotel is located on the other side of the hotel - the one to which you go down directly on the elevator to the 1st floor. And I was very pleased with this beach! It is located right on the rocks, and this is for me - to swim among the stones, in the purest transparent water. But only now I suspect that this beach will not suit everyone either, in particular sedate people, as well as the elderly, all those who prefer the beach - sandy or at least pebble. Unfortunately, this case is tight throughout Croatia.
The main negative point that I personally encountered in this hotel is the local medical care, or rather its complete absence. Thank God that you rarely encounter this, and God forbid that this moment passes you by. The fact is that it is only formally considered that we have medical insurance, the payment of which, however, and not at all formal, is included in the ticket... When, again, God forbid, something happens, some kind of injury, like with me, when you hobble to the reception and ask for a doctor, they will tell you: there is no doctor at the hotel, but if you consider your injury serious enough, we will try to organize a transfer to the airport where there is a doctor in the near future (apparently one for several nearest hotels). Or you can go to Cavtat and buy medicine there. . .
The hotel does not even have a first-aid kit, not one for the entire hotel!
Such is the medical care and such is the medical insurance. So it's better to take a basic set of medical supplies with you just in case.
In conclusion, I want to say a few words about the country itself. I liked Croatia more than Turkey, despite the fact that the country is a little poorer, but this does not affect the service and level in hotels. I liked it more precisely due to the beauty of nature, the coast - there are entirely islands and rocks, it is very picturesque to watch and swim or ride a boat or scooter. But at the same time, I want to note that Croatia is still really too idealized on the Internet, it is presented as some kind of simply extraordinary country. This is too much, the country is quite ordinary, with its own advantages and disadvantages. Among the latter I include, for example, the temperature of the water: for me it was a strong disappointment and another deception received from the Internet. There it is firmly and in many places stated that the water temperature in August in the southern parts of Croatia (where we were) is 25 degrees. In fact, when we arrived, it was 22 degrees : ( Compared to the Turkish 27 degrees, this is a very big contrast! So for the first 2 days we didn’t go to the water at all, then we got used to it and began to swim, and the water got a little warmer - up to 23 degrees : ). The second minus is the prices. Everything is more expensive there than in Turkey. For example, a full-day excursion costs 70 euros per person, while in Turkey we paid $ 20 for a similar one.
Well, among the pluses I can include a more friendly but at the same time completely unobtrusive service.
I probably won’t talk about excursions in detail, because. Here, what you like is an individual matter. We traveled to Ston + Korcula, to Montenegro, and also to Dubrovnik on our own. In general, I will say that here again there is excessive propaganda and idealization. For example, the same Dubrovnik is everywhere called almost a wonder of the world, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with a unique fortress - the old city. Well, a normal city, yes, but I didn’t experience any special enthusiasm. The old city, in my opinion, is no better than, say, a fortress in the Crimean Sudak. And the most pleasant thing that was in Dubrovnik was not a long and tedious crawling along the walls of this fortress, but admiring this city from afar, from the side of the upper embankment.
In general, Croatia is teeming with old fortresses and on almost any excursion, in any city you go to, you will be taken to such an Old Town. They really get bored quickly, and in the end we began to run away from these old cities and wander around the new, modern
parts of the city - in Korcula, in Kotor, in Budva. The last 2 cities belong to Montenegro, choosing an excursion to which, you thereby visit another country.
No matter how critical my description of the excursions may seem, in fact they are generally quite good. And most importantly, it will undoubtedly be boring in Croatia without excursions, because the hotels there do not have an all-inclusive mode, they do not have animation, so no matter how beautiful the nature is there, spending a week, and even more so 10 days in a hotel, will undoubtedly get bored.
I wish you a good holiday!

To all readers - good day and good mood! I have just returned from Croatia, which has recently become quite popular for our compatriots, and I want to share my impressions about the rest in Croatia 5 *. I can immediately say that the rest made an ambivalent impression: I can’t say that I didn’t like it, but something was missing for complete happiness... What exactly - I’ll try to figure it out myself now.
Territory and hotel.
The hotel is located in a very good place - the most beautiful bay, the azure sea, the greenery of the surrounding pine trees and the original architecture of the hotel create a wonderful impression of a piece of paradise on Earth. The building is quite high - 11 floors, about 500 rooms. Which, of course, is striking - firstly, the purity of the air, and secondly, the effect of climate change, when you enter under the pines from open space... impressive. The territory is large, green and clean, for walks, so to speak, disposes. The air, once again, is amazing; I myself am an avid smoker, I usually smoke about a pack a day... and there - exactly half as much, somehow I didn’t even want to. There are 4 pools: indoor with bleach, outdoor with bleach : -), outdoor with sea water and for children (I don’t know with what water, but it seems to be heated), however, I haven’t been to any of them - I swam only in sea. There is a special conversation about the sea, I will tell you further in order.
Rooms.
You can't fault the rooms - quite spacious, with normal furniture. Of the benefits of civilization - a loggia, standard air conditioning, hair dryer, TV, safe, paid minibar. Bathrooms are combined - whoever is lucky: there is just a shower, and there is also a bath. I would like to note the good location of the rooms - depending on which side you are accommodated on, you will have a view either of the open sea with an island, or of the bay and the city. The rooms are cleaned fairly conscientiously; towels are changed if they are folded on the floor. By the way, here's what was interesting: once every 2 days he left a tip - 10 kunas (~ 1.5 euros), and so the maid never took them, every time he found them on the table... I didn’t understand: was it not enough , either a lot, or people just don’t take tips...
Sea and beach.
I love the sea very much, so I cannot help but note the disadvantage of the hotel, which was warned about, in the form of the difficulty of getting to this very sea. And here's the thing: the hotel has 2 beaches, one (main) is a concrete platform and pebbles, to which you either have to go down a steep staircase (5 minutes), or go around the path through the park (10 - 15 minutes), and the other is on the rocks (you can go down by elevator). So, on the main beach there are sun loungers and umbrellas (by the way, paid ones), you can only dive from the platform, since the depth is decent; nearby, where there are pebbles, the bottom is flat, but full - full of hedgehogs, so don’t try to go there barefoot, take care of yourself. On the rocks, of course, there are no sun loungers, you have to take a towel from your room, the entrance to the sea is from ladders, or, again, dive. Such are the things. The sea, of course, when you still get to it, compensates for everything... Very clean azure water, warm enough, swimming is a pleasure, you don’t want to get out....
Yes, I almost forgot - there is also a nudist piece of beach on the rocks.
Infrastructure and entertainment.
3 restaurants (including a beach one), many bars, playgrounds and a club, a shopping center, a beauty salon (massage, etc. ), a fitness center, a night club. Of the sports facilities - a gym, volleyball, darts, ping - pong, surfers appeared from somewhere on the main beach.
Nutrition.
Buffet is good enough, but no frills. In general, nothing special, but the menu is quite varied, and you definitely will not stay hungry. Drinks, except for breakfast, are paid, purchased from the waiters. You also have to buy water for the room.
The atmosphere in the hotel.
Croats are a friendly and polite people, but a little slow by nature. The general atmosphere - calm and peaceful - has its pros and cons: plus - no one touches you, minus - it's boring. I don’t know about you, but I can’t live in peace for so long, I want entertainment... but there aren’t many of them. The main contingent of tourists - Germans, Italians, Croats, Russians.
Summarizing the above, what can I say about my vacation: on the one hand, everything was great, except for my knees broken when swimming on the rocks : -) I repeat: the sea, sun and air are simply amazing! On the other hand, that incendiary break-off that you usually count on when planning a vacation was a little lacking. I can recommend this hotel to families with children, older people and romantic couples; if someone wants to spend their vacation with increased intensity - in my opinion, it is better to look for a more "crazy" hotel : -)
As always, I wish everyone reading these lines a good, pleasant holiday. If you are thinking about the decision to go to Croatia 5 *, and you would like to clarify any details - send a question, I will be happy to answer everyone.
Sincerely, Alexander
