New Year in Hong Kong
It was very, very cool and interesting. We met the New Year 2012 in Asia, in Hong Kong! !
Fantastic and unforgettable! ! ! We flew first from Kyiv to Moscow, then from Moscow to Hong Kong. landed at
“Hong Kong International Airport, we went out to the terminal, and then ......you can’t see the end of the edge, either in one direction or in the other -
such a huge airport! ! !
We arrived in Hong Kong 2 days before the New Year. We immediately went to the Sohotel. Our room was on the 7th floor. For Hong Kong Island, our 3-star hotel can be considered decent and located in a good area, very friendly and hospitable staff. On foot, with the perception of all the advantages of Hong Kong, it is possible to walk around the city, and without feeling tired, walk to various bars, cafes, mega-shops, entertainment centers. 15 minutes walk to HardRock Cafe, 30 minutes to the waterfront.
We decided to immediately go for a walk in Hong Kong. For the whole day they could not get around even one-tenth of the city.
In general, we slept very little - we tried to walk around the city almost all the time and remember as much as possible so that it would be remembered for a long time. After all, these places, this city, are so unlike what we are used to seeing! This is a different culture, a different religion, a different attitude towards people - everything is different! ! Passing by skyscrapers, they looked at them with bated breath. Wow! Such greatness! What buildings, just giants. You stand near such a hulk and wonder how such structures even stand? You are amazed at the bold architectural solutions. Passing by, we tried to see the top of a very, very, very tall building, but for this we had to “almost lie on the back of the road”! ! ! We also really wanted to get there, to the top, and we succeeded. Showing our passport, we went up to the top floor of the tallest building in Hong Kong - the "International Commerce Center". This height...even scared to go to the window.
Somewhere out there, far below, on the ground, people are swarming and cars are moving, and around are huge buildings made of glass and concrete, mountains, and all this is shrouded in a light fog, like in a fairy tale.
We also visited Mount Victoria, the most popular mountain in Hong Kong, from which the city is in full view! From the very foot of the mountain, across the bay, through the abyss, the mountain landscape and to the very top, we rode in a glass cabin. What a beauty both below and around. On the mountain, we met the New Year on December 31, Kyiv time, to remember! And in general, in Hong Kong, a lot is connected with the name of Queen Victoria! ! ! And the bay, and the island, and the mountain, and the hotels, and the money, and even the streets! ! ! Because, more recently, the island was an English colony. We also rode a ferry from the mainland to the island and back, admired daily at 20.00 local time a laser show that lasts several minutes.
We also traveled around the city on a double-decker tram, but more traveled on foot.
There was fog, and light rain, and unusually high humidity for us, but all this did not overshadow our trip, did not spoil
festive mood, but vice versa - we received a lot of impressions and brought a bunch of
memories of such a wonderful place. We hope that we will still be able to visit there, because wherever you look - there is only beauty around! ! !
