Santorini exceeded my expectations.....
Well, I can not help but share my impressions about this island! For 2 weeks we lived in 3 cities - Kamari, Akrotiri and Imerovigli. As far as the Greeks are a benevolent nation, I am not the first to be convinced, but in Santorini they are even more responsive and soulful than in Crete and Athens. Maybe, of course, this is influenced by the high cost of this resort, which is most likely, because most of all the hotels on the island are divided into 2 categories - rooms that are built by the owners themselves (the so-called Guest House) with all the necessary amenities (15-20M2), with the exception of swimming pools, and hotels with categories of 4 stars and above, with swimming pools with breathtaking views of the sunsets and all the necessary services corresponding to any whim.
Our journey began with a stay at the Hotel Sunshine on the black beach of Kamari, the impression was wonderful, very good-natured owners of the hotel, excellent breakfasts and of course the sea! We spent the days at the sea and by the pool, in the evenings we dined on the promenade, which, as it turned out, was about 2 km long and was strewn with small restaurants overlooking the sea. On the very first day, we chose the NAVY’S CLUB located closer to the mountain, there is excellent cuisine, it is decorated in the style of a LOUNGE and cool music played there on weekends. In the evening we rented a quad bike and did not part with it until the end of our trip.
Later we moved to Akrotiri, to the highest point of the hill to the hotel MAYSON DES LYS, that's where I began to understand where we are and why Santorini is so famous! In the first minutes of leaving the taxi, I could not speak, the volcano was in full view, and the height from which we saw it was incredible. Once in the room, we were no less surprised by the presence of a terrace with a spoiling view from which we simply could not tear ourselves away. The hotel is of course a luxury hotel, respectively, and the service, in this hotel everything was perfect! There is only one minus of this hotel - its remoteness from the infrastructure and you cannot do without transport in this hotel. Almost every day we went to the black beach of Perissa on an ATV and spent the day there, a paid beach with cool sun loungers and service, also with excellent cuisine - that's all DEMILMAR! In the evenings, we went to dinner in Oia, because it really turned out that from there you can see the sunset in all its glory, such unique sunsets can only be seen from two places in Santorini - this is Oia and Fira.
All good things ever come to an end and here we are moving to Imerovigli to the XENONES FILOTERA hotel, no less pleasantly surprised, amazing pool, wonderful dinners with sunset and volcano views, excellent rooms with a wonderful view, in general, everything pleased, really did not want to leave and during my stay there, the thought that we arrived there too early did not stop leaving me, that after what I saw, I could not even imagine what else could impress me in the same way ? ! Why didn't we go after 5 years? Why didn't they leave this island in their dreams, at least for a little while longer? Despite the fact that we have already seen quite a few remote corners of this planet, Santorini has exceeded our expectations.... .
