We traveled from May 25 to June 5 with a group of 8 people. So, I'll start with the fact that they did not regret a bit that they chose this hotel, because. the price of the tour was absolutely symbolic (for 11 nights on breakfast less than 1000 euros for two). The rooms are normal, minus the "view of the garden" - a view of 2 objects under construction, one of which is unaffected by the crisis and the construction is in full swing from the very morning : ) it was immediately changed for an additional fee to a room with a sea view). We did not change the number, because. we were bribed by caught free Wi-Fi, which was vital for us. So Wi-Fi in the hotel costs 50 euros per week, 15 or 16 euros for 4 hours, which must be used per day. There are some other, equally unrealistic, tariffs. If you just check your mail, then Wi-Fi is available in half of the cafes in the city. Sometimes you need to ask for a password.
In this hotel, the system is as follows: for your money you are offered a minimum set of services. If you want additional options like sea view, safe, air conditioning, Wi-Fi - you have to pay extra for everything. If you take all this, then the cost of the tour will probably come out as in a better hotel. But we didn’t really need all this (or rather, relatively, but more on that later in the text). From 3 sides of the hotel, as it was written earlier, there is a road, because of which it is almost impossible to sleep in the morning with an open balcony. The way out is to pay for the air conditioner (we didn’t use it, so I won’t tell you the cost). Supplement for sea view - 8 euros per night (at least in May-June). I would like to note again: as someone mentioned here, so that there is no noise, it is better to take rooms with a view of the pool - there is a side view of the sea, and the only side where there is no road under the windows. But you can not see a gorgeous sunset in the sea! Who is more important here. Those who sleep soundly and are not afraid of the wind will appreciate a room with a sea view. I remembered about the wind because this hotel (as well as a couple of quite popular among Russians such as Rhodos Beach and Blue sea) are located on the MOST windy street in Rhodes, because. side of the Aegean. Those. the wind is such that during the day on the beach it is most often impossible to read, and in the evening some kind of light outerwear or something from the wind is MANDATORY, there can be no talk about the safety of the hairstyle in these hotels))) This is another big minus. Although, perhaps, in the hottest months, this minus turns into a plus : ) The beach is pebbly. The sea is usually VERY rough. My husband and I did not like it and every day we drove a rented car to the chic sandy Tsampika.

I digress from the topic: they took the car in Marathon, which is to the right of the hotel towards the city. We took an Aveo machine for 7 days for 200 euros (the girls at the box office will tell you about prices of 65 euros per day, then the promotion “pay for 5 days - get 7! ” starts right away, and then the price drops sharply from 250 euros to 200 euros : ) Our friends took a car from the meeting side of Beleon for 1 day. Instead of a Nissan Micra, they brought some kind of small Hyundai, instead of a machine gun - a mechanic. And I don’t know if it was a fraudulent trick or a misunderstanding, but the young man who drove the car asked for a ride to the neighboring village (friends were on the way) and he got behind the wheel. The fact that this is a broken-down mechanics, friends noticed already decently driving away from the hotel. 40 euros per day.
More about the hotel: I strongly do not recommend companies of 4 people or more who like to get together on the balcony in the evening and have a drink. My friends had a very unpleasant situation when one of the evenings they decided not to go anywhere and sit quietly on the balcony. As a result, even just their conversations on the balcony caused discontent among the German pensioners and the porter came with a remark. After that, my friends moved into the room, closed the balcony and started watching videos on their phones that they had taken during the trip. Well, what kind of sound can there be in clips about a trip on the phone? )) Laughter is simple! And the porter, apparently, was standing at the door and, as soon as they turned on the phone, he started knocking again, as a result, he took the girls to the reception under the pretext that they needed to pick up their passports, and on the way he yelled at them so much that he woke up half the hotel, including . h. me and my husband. The next day there was a serious conversation with the general manager with threats of eviction. Approximately the same situation happened in another room, when 5 people were sitting on the balcony and talking. After the remarks, taught by bitter experience, the miserable friends had to disperse. Conclusion: the hotel is ABSOLUTELY not suitable for companies, only for couples or older vacationers.
And my favorite part: restaurants : ) Here it should be noted that it takes 7 minutes to walk to the new city, 15 minutes to the old one. So, at the very beginning of the new city (right behind the "Church Shop" (written in Russian), literally in the same building on the corner) Tamam Island's best restaurant. Delicious snacks (especially spinach baked with cheese, cheese sticks, etc. ). ALL the appetizers are worth trying! And quite safely you can take one serving for two. Awesome pork ribs, very tasty pork knuckle with a huge amount of meat, leg of lamb! These are our "favourites" : ) Other dishes are also good, but not so good. Quite decent "homemade wine" (unlike all other establishments on the island. They could not find a good homemade one). Perhaps because the wine here is Macedonian))) Friendly and good-natured family, Andreas, Maria and Marina, who own, serve and cook in the restaurant. All the time somehow they joke, hug at parting, recognize on the streets)) The only caveat: if you are used to high-quality, well-cooked steaks with blood, do not take it. Neither beef, nor fillet, nor veal were properly made. Everything is dry and overcooked. Perhaps only those who love Well done will like it. In this case, you need to order Medium : )
I would also like to mention the fish restaurant in Stegna Kozas, which is located on the Stegna beach (the beach itself was not impressive, if only its stone part is right in front of the restaurant, where the water is crystal clear). So, we randomly stopped by this restaurant in the afternoon on the way to the beach, tasted chic squid, wanted to eat fish soup (Zuppa di pesce is exactly fish soup there, and not like in Italy a mix of seafood). It turned out that the brother-fisherman had not yet brought the fish and would only come after 15.00. So we went back there in the evening and ate the freshest fish and soup. In the Italian ratings, it was deducted that this is the best fish restaurant on the island. As a result, then they came specially to eat mussels and shells in tomato sauce, as well as fish like sardines and some larger ones on the grill. Everything is VERY fresh and delicious.

I highly recommend not to go to cafes and restaurants in the old and new city, where there are barkers. All these places left extremely negative impressions. The only "more or less" places in the new city where you can go without trudging far are Niko's fish taverna and a restaurant-bar with fountains (in a few days, walking around the old city in the evening, you will stumble upon all this anyway : ) In the old town in the narrow streets there are small restaurants without barkers, where you can still find something more or less tasty and fresh. For example, Taverna Pythagoras. There we tasted the most delicious baklava in life : ) Well, quite a fish is okay.
Edem deserves special attention, which is on the right after the exit to Tsambika beach. Tables under olives, swings, some special relaxing atmosphere, like in a country house, coolness during the hottest hours, as well as some of the best lamb ribs in life : ) Even I, who do not like lamb, liked it. And my Italian husband was delighted : ) Everything else is also very tasty, we went there 3 times : )
For those who love authenticity and new sensations, I highly recommend a trip to the highest mountain village of Empona and eat a goat or a lamb on the grill. Absolutely not the same recipe as in Italy, but also very tasty! Plus, the village itself is very interesting, such old Greek people walk around, they roast meat on the grill everywhere, mountains around, national costumes are sold....Mmm!!!
In general, Rhodes really liked! The sea is of unusual color and gives great aesthetic pleasure (although it’s still not quite comfortable for swimming at the end of May), a lot of interesting places that are all told on the Internet, and everything is cheaper than in many other European countries.
Py. Sy. On Rhodes, no crisis was felt, except perhaps a lot of abandoned new buildings.
