Just returned from a trip....Based on fresh impressions.

The location of the village of Bali within the whole of Crete is very close to the cities of Heraklion and Rethymnon and Lake Kournas and the caves of Melodoni (rent a car and after half an hour of a leisurely drive walk as much as you want... the only thing to go to Elofonisi beach (pink sands) is long but there such an exciting mountain road with such views!!! ! and the taverns near the road are just flying away!! ! so tasty rarely where you eat: )
