Peloponnese, hotel Fournia Village 3 * + Fournia beach. Good day. My daughter and I rested from 7 to 15 July. We flew from Kiev to the Wind Rose, departure without delay (flight 2.5 years) and quickly (within an hour) arrived at the hotel. The hotel is located 20 kilometers from the port of Killini in a rather deserted place - near it a few small economy hotels and all. Infrastructure zero? .
The nearest village is Castro, 3.5 km. On foot. There is no bus, no other transport, no street travel agencies, to which we are all accustomed in other countries, which, of course, selflessly uses Teztur, breaking unworldly prices for tours). The area is not very large and consists of Fournia Village 3 * (slightly more expensive) Fournia beach (slightly cheaper). Restaurant one for both hotels. As well as equipped places for trailers and tents - there are a lot of people resting. There is a swimming pool (adult and children's), we have never swum there, there are several bars and a main restaurant.
There is also a small shop where you can buy some fruits and vegetables, yogurt, sweets, oil, canned food and various household goods. In general, everything is quite compact on the territory.
Our room was not very large, but quite spacious for two people - with a large double bed and a bunk bed (the child was delighted), with a terrace and a kitchenette with refrigerator. There was also a minimal set of utensils and a Turk for coffee. It is very convenient. In order not to pay 1.5-2 euros for a cup of coffee each time, I often made coffee and drank it on the terrace, enjoying the sound of the waves.
The bathroom is small, but the plumbing is high quality, not old, not rusty - very clean.
Wi-Fi is weak.
You have to go down the steep stairs to the sea, but on each march there are small terraces with sunbeds and umbrellas, they are also on the shore. This avoids crowds - they are evenly distributed throughout the territory.
The beach can not be called good - there are stones, and the sea was quite rough and cool all day. If you want a better beach, you need to walk 15 minutes by asphalt road, turning right from the hotel. Pros - clean sand, no stones, sunbeds, umbrellas (to use them, you need to buy something in a cafe). Minus - the sea is shallow. To dive, you have to go far enough. But with children, of course, comfortable, you can not worry. There is a toilet, changing room. We had the freshest seafood, salads, cold dry wine, milkshakes - all very tasty and inexpensive. Portion of squid or fish -6.5 euros, octopuses -12.
Food. We had breakfast-evening. Breakfast - ham, cheese, canned fruit, eggs, sausages, bread, cupcakes, portioned marmalade. Unfortunately, there were no fresh vegetables, olives, yogurts or fruits (coffee brewed in a thermos is delicious).
You could order whatever you wanted for lunch - we mostly ordered seafood and fish with salad (portion from 7 euros). For dinner there is a choice - a few meat dishes, several side dishes, two types of salad. Water, fanta, cola are provided free of charge, for wine pay around 2.5 euros per pint. Water was bought from shops - 60 cents per 1.5 liters. There are no desserts at all, so sweets buy ice cream in a cafe or shop.
Personnel. Excellent. Very friendly, attentive, hardworking. We were very helped by the Moldovan Valera, if you have problems with English, he will help you communicate with the staff. We did not have such problems, but Valery gave us some useful advice and booked a place on a tourist yacht.
Leisure. If you go for a week, you basically do not get bored. If you do not mind the money, you can take excursions to Teztura: the cheapest in Olympia, 50 euros per person.
For a trip to Zakynthos (Zakynthos, the amazing beauty of the island, read the information on the Internet), greedy Teztur slap 120 euros per person. We organized such a trip ourselves -20 euros taxi to the port of Killini (divided into two), there by ferry, very comfortable, with cafes on board (ticket 9.5 euros to Zakynthos (sail 1 hour). And there moved to a tour yacht Full day trip (25 euros per person, lunch not included, but there is a buffet where you can order food and drinks, prices are the same as everywhere, Greece), and three times the yacht stops in the bays for sailing and recreation ...The only thing I didn't like was a lot of people, all three decks were packed.
We generally like such trips and take them all the time, but in Turkey, for example, you can choose - a large yacht, with a disco, noise or small - up to 10 people, without music and children, and here, unfortunately, there was no such opportunity… But the scenery, the sea - extraordinary, just a rare beauty. Therefore, I highly recommend!
We also walked near the village of Castro for the day. There is a 13th century fortress, inside a museum. Everything is pretty well preserved, we liked it, took good photos. Entrance - 4 euros. We looked at several shops (nothing special, souvenir), drank coffee with local cookies and had lunch at a local tavern. Inexpensive and quite tasty. I must say that the food is very good everywhere - I liked it much more than in Turkey, in particular the choice of seafood and low prices for them.
If you have a company, you can rent a car (not cheap, from 90 euros per day) and travel. Go to Olympia, Patras. Apparently, when you rest longer, you have to do it.
We had a few beach days, one beach outside the hotel, a trip to Zakynthos, a hike near Castro. But if you're used to a party, all-inclusive, you may not like it. We were very good. It seems that you are at a personal seaside cottage.
Thank God, there was no dominance of moksha - it seems, only two pairs. Heard Polish, German, Greek. Calm, the noise of the sea, delicious food, pleasant climate (do not soar, all the time the breeze). What else do you want? All beavers and good rest!
