I bought a last-minute tour, literally half a day before departure. Therefore, I did not choose the hotel for a particularly long time. She was ready for anything. The main criterion for choosing was the location in the city. Two young girls did not really want to settle in a hotel, which is somewhere in the field. Why I say this, because the tourists who traveled with us were dropped off in places where it was 10 km to the nearest village. And this despite the fact that their hotels were 4. A friend waited in horror where we would settle.
Theoxenia 3 turned out to be just a dream) My admiration knew no bounds. I'm not exaggerating. I travel 4-5 times a year and have already seen many hotels. I felt at home in this. A small 4-storey hotel in the center of Loutraki, with access to the sea. It was built in 1930 but renovated in 2016. An extraordinary combination of antiques and modernity in every detail. Rooms are clean, cleaned every day. And the terrace is just worth it, my favorite place overlooking the sea.
The hotel has access to the beach. It's not big, but it's enough. The windows of the room overlooked the main road, but it was not noisy. The owner Sofia is very friendly and nice. She said that Theoxenia is a family hotel, her great great grandmothers, so I think there is such an atmosphere. And the breakfasts are just amazing. I completely forgot, the elevator) I've never seen anything like this, don't be afraid it's not scary at all. It is so authentic) In short, I highly recommend the hotel.
About Loutraki himself. I liked the town. It is very interesting that there are couples with children, young people and old people. There are springs with radon in the city. You can take a bath. There are clubs, but we didn’t go to them, so I can’t tell you in more detail. The sea is wonderful, the only thing that prevented swimming is large pebbles. But if you bring special shoes with you, this will not be a problem. There are municipal beaches without and with sun loungers. We went to the one without, near the park. From excursions, we went to Athens for a day.
We bought tickets at the box office of the city and went. Two-way tickets 16.5 €, if through a guide the tour is 50.
We also went to the not-so-great Corinth Canal. We took a taxi and went to the Potapia Monastery. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation.
