Of the minuses: drinks (all), food, cleaning, paid towels and sunbeds near the sea for 3 euros per sunbed per day (except for tourists from Russia from the "Southern Cross"), not really expensive internet (there is no free anywhere at all), lack of animation entertainment programs for aunts, with stupid scenes insulting all nations (all Russian-speaking drunks, all Galanians are drug addicts, there are fewer sunbeds near the pool than people.
About the hotel: The territory is large, beautiful, lots of greenery. beautiful flowers, etc.
food: maybe I’m picky, of course, but from my point of view it’s monotonous, there are almost no salads, all the time one Greek and it’s not clear what with mayonnaise, sadness and sadness with fruits, the choice is small and all the most delicious ones are taken apart instantly. There are 2 more 2 restaurants, Greek and Italian, where they work more interestingly only for dinner.
For almost the whole day there is ice cream, quite tasty.
Regarding drinks, everything is very sad, my husband and 99% of the men in the hotel were simply disappointed, the local alcohol is of low quality, diluted, and they pour it with such a face "well, when you are all drunk", there are no natural juices, and the fact that in vending machines looks more like a jupi.
The rooms are very simple, (but very spacious, we had a two-room family room) recently supposedly made repairs, made very dishonestly, with wires sticking out of the walls and it is not clear how the walls were painted, the furniture is old, old, but strong)), the bathroom is dark , all in pads from building glue that no one just cleans off, they washed the tops and that’s it, they don’t clean super well, although every day, for lovers of clean floors, you don’t come here, I don’t know how they wash them here, but they dirty all the time.
Pools and the sea: the pools are clean and large enough, there is a water slide coming out of the ship, and a children's water slide, (for lovers of slides through the hotel in the same network there is a water park that costs about 8 euros). The sea is wonderful, warm, moderately noisy, for delicate feet it is necessary to buy slippers for water, the stones are large and difficult to walk on, the children do not care, they run barefoot joyfully. You can get away from paid sunbeds easier, in the old fashioned way (as in the Crimea) put a towel on the pebbles and sunbathe, as half of the tourists do.
The overall impression of the rest was quite pleasant, the rest is still, but in the future I will never go to this hotel chain, although it belongs to the same owner as Grecotel, by the way, if it is possible to go better to their network, everything is always top notch level, in which they themselves were surprised last year.
Of the minuses:
- monotonous breakfast;
- bad soft drinks and ice cream;
- dirty pebble beach;
- paid wi-fi;
Regarding the rest outside the hotel:
Enough "green" island, whose unhurried rhythm of life is transmitted to you. If possible, rent a car or scooter. You can go everywhere and see everything. A sightseeing tour from a tour operator is a waste of money. Don't go for an evening at a Greek restaurant (food and program sucks)
Be sure to visit the park with peacocks!!! ! (do not forget the cat food) and also the excellent sandy beaches on the other side of the island. Clean souvenir streets in the city center (25 minutes walk to it or 5 minutes by bus) a lot of small cafes on the shore - in the evening there are many vacationers and citizens.
The main pluses include the clean ecology of the island, as evidenced by the abundance of ants and mosquitoes in the rooms, for some reason they do not react to fumitox...
Good luck!
I liked the food, enough for everyone, varied. If someone writes that it is bad, let him write what he eats at home. As a hostess, I can say that I cannot provide such a variety of houses to my family. There are no queues unless you go straight to the opening of the restaurant. There are some features: vegetables are cut coarsely and meat is somewhat overcooked. From fruits - watermelons, melons, apples, oranges (local, very sweet), sometimes peaches and pears, dried fruits. You can bring food and non-alcoholic drinks to your room if needed. Tea bags only for breakfast. So, tea lovers, stock up. There are a few bags in the room and a bottle of plain water in the fridge. You can then pour other drinks into it. But if you leave it empty, they'll throw it away. If you go on a tour, you can order a lunch package. We did not like it: something like a hot dog, a cupcake, an apple and an orange. Only a bottle of water pleased. Hot dogs went to the peacocks for dinner. We talked with peacocks with pleasure, there are also turtles in that forest.
There were ants in the room - we got along with them, one even flew with us to St. Petersburg. Friends did not have ants, but there were mosquitoes (CAPTURE THE FUMIGATOR) - they apparently do not get along with each other. Therefore, who is "lucky" with what. I admit that there are rooms without these "pleasures". The room was cleaned well. We left tips twice, but they didn’t spoil them especially (friends did the same) - but they changed their linen every day, but they didn’t change us even once, while the beds were diligently made. Towels are changed by hanging them on the edge of the bath - this is also recommended by the instructions in the bathroom.
Our tour operator Southern Cross, they were also satisfied. Katerina was on duty almost around the clock at the reception, advised on all issues.
We rented a car through it, it turned out to be cheaper even than in other places. Previously, we specially went to Kos on bicycles and asked the price at the box office. Walk around the island took place. Not bad, but it’s really difficult to surprise Petersburgers with something, if only with exotic nature (beautiful sunset from Ziya, palm trees, mountains). The ruins are everywhere similar to each other. Olive oil and a beach towel for 2.99 euros would be better to buy in one of the supermarkets behind the beaches of Lambi (like our Pyaterochka) in the area of Kos, cream based on olive oil and other small souvenirs - in the village of Zia (if you take several, you can bargain or get an additional gift) or in the same supermarkets (cream about 5-8 euros), there are two more inexpensive Chinese stores in the city (if someone suddenly misses shopping) - otherwise everything is very expensive. For example, lollipop costs 20 rubles for our money.
We went on an excursion to Rhodes - two hours there and... four and a half back. If you decide - do not take children - you will get sick and very tired. The tour is not joyful (a lot of dry facts), basically everything must be imagined... ruins, a little more fun than Kos. It is better to spend this time swimming. Well, if you decide, be sure to go to the left of the port of Mandraki (if you look at it) to the sea (the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea merge there) and further along the coast. There is the most beautiful Aegean Sea, a restless wave - but maybe we are so lucky? Super derzhitsya have turned out - elements and the person. I didn't even get carried away by the wave.
They took a break from the children - they were engaged in themselves. They did not use animation (only a little dancing) - they had enough pools, slides, a playground, ice cream, soda. For those who wish - a girl Sofia from Hungary leads animation for children in Russian. It can be seen that the Greeks were preparing to receive the Russians. Friendly.
There was an impression of safety.
They were satisfied with the vacation - they brought a lot of impressions. Criticism for order, maybe it will help someone adjust their plans and desires.
