We rested on the island in the summer of 2011 (end of June). Very beautiful scenery, lots of flowers. We chose an active form of recreation for ourselves - a city hotel (2 *) in the city of Kos and sightseeing of the city and surrounding areas on bicycles. The rental is relatively inexpensive, there are many bike paths around the city and very polite drivers, so we felt safe. The city practically stands on ancient ruins, many of which are still being explored and therefore, probably, the entrance to some of them is absolutely free (Roman villa, ancient Agora, Western archaeological side, amphitheater... ) The only restriction is not to take out pebbles, with this very strict.
A special pleasure is the thermal (hydrogen sulfide) spring outside the city, which flows directly into the sea. For those who wish to improve their health with exquisite sensations, we recommend night swimming under the stars.
Greek cuisine is a combination of taste and health benefits. Here you can see that healthy food can be sooo delicious! They cook fresh fish and grilled vegetables perfectly, amazing yogurt is used both as a dessert and as a substitute for our classic mayonnaise in salads (we recommend the so-called "gypsy salad", aka Tzatziki) and once again fresh fish!! ! The portions are not small, sometimes even huge, very much in line with the price (a standard offer for two fish + salad + homemade wine costs up to 25 euros in a cafe)
If there is a desire to explore the neighboring islands, a huge number of excursion routes will help you both to religious places, and for the purpose of shopping or swimming in the sea.
