The hotel was chosen based on reviews and photos. Early reviews are not relevant, since 2012 the hotel has a new owner. The staff does not speak Russian, only English and Italian. But they try to learn a few words, at least for greeting. The attitude of the staff is very friendly, everyone always tries to help in any way they can.

The staff does not speak Russian, only English and Italian. But they try to learn a few words, at least for greeting. The attitude of the staff is very friendly, everyone always tries to help in any way they can.
The room is cleaned daily, towels are changed every day, even clean ones, but the bed linen was changed once in 10 days.
Wi-Fi in rooms away from the reception catches badly, and the speed is low.
There are not many vacationers with children. There is no separate children's menu. There is a fenced special area with a hot metal children's slide (closed), but no one used it when we were there.
The food is good. Delicious and a lot. Breakfasts are the same (varied buffet: meat, something like cutlets, sausage and cheese cuts, salads, eggs, delicious homemade yogurt, I recommend with local honey or jams, pancakes and pastries, tea, coffee, juice diluted with water, fruit) . For dinner there is also a varied buffet - salads, local delights such as stuffed tomatoes and eggplants, and much more, and a weekly menu of three main course options - local (I especially liked the moussacs), something from Italian cuisine, and the usual (such as lamb or schnitzel with french fries or rice). Once in a while it doesn’t happen, in the kitchen something sometimes works out better, something worse, but in any case, everything is delicious and there is a lot of it. Dishes for dinner are ordered in advance at the reception. After the main course, fruits and sweets are brought to the buffet for dessert, and after that it is already impossible to walk, just lie down)) Drinks for dinner are paid, even water. For 10 days, drinks cost 20 euros (mostly water, sometimes wine), payment before departure. The wine in the restaurant is good. However, it is more appropriate to buy it yourself, and use it in the room for your own pleasure, because. in the supermarket it is inexpensive and the choice is much larger.
There are 2 bars, one by the large pool and one inside.
There are few Russian guests, the main contingent of the hotel is Italians.
The beach is not bad, people come to it even from neighboring hotels. Sunbeds and an umbrella cost 4 euros. Bonus for sun loungers - 2 non-alcoholic drinks from the bar. However, no one will say a word if you sit nearby, under a free tree.
You can rent a car at the hotel, but it’s better to do it at a nearby rental office 300m from the hotel, because. insurance conditions are better there. But the cars there are dismantled quickly, and they may not be. They say that there is one insurance company on the island and insures everyone equally, however, different rentals may have different conditions.

Last year, my friend and I went to rest on the island of Kos! Chose a hotel based on the amount that was! The choice fell on Kalimera! We liked! Well fed! All on! Our rooms were cleaned every day, bed linen was changed 2 times in 12 days! Everything suited us! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Made friends with everyone! =) Yes, I agree that there is no entertainment in the hotel, but this did not bother me and my friend! Every day, or rather in the evening after dinner, we gathered and went to Kardamena!!! ! =)))) The hotel is quiet and calm, and we went to this village to hang out and have fun! There are a lot of bars and a few clubs!!! ! Ride around the island! Almost everyone has seen it! All in all, we had a great vacation! If everything goes well, then this year we will go to this hotel again!!! R.

R. S. Resting in this hotel, many people listened to opinions about it, many people did not like it, because EVERYONE begins to compare with Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia !!!!
Folks, this is Europe! Not much is different here!

Live music evenings once a week None of this!!!
The food is average, the juices are diluted to a concentration of water. In the rooms for a week they changed linen and towels, shampoo, paper once. Apparently, they think that people do not wash. Either there is no coffee, or there is no water. There is no telephone. There is no shop either. To buy normal water or call Peter, we walked 3 kilometers to the nearest tourist village of Kardamena.
Excursions are very expensive. Entrance to various museums is additionally paid. Inexpensive excursions were canceled for us 2 hours before departure.
A sad impression of the hotel and the staff. . . On the day of departure, the maid came to clean up when we were packing half-dressed. And, despite our request to come out and let us get dressed and get ready, she continued cleaning.
. Consoles only clean . warm and gentle sea.

I never wrote reviews - there was no need, but this time I am writing because of a great desire to protect potential vacationers from poor-quality rest... I won’t write about all sorts of signs here in Russia that preceded the trip and warned in every way - don’t go there - you’ll “break off”... this has nothing to do with staying in Greece, and specifically at the Epihotel KALIMERA MARE hotel.

I won’t write about all sorts of signs here in Russia that preceded the trip and warned in every way - don’t go there - you’ll “break off”... this has nothing to do with staying in Greece, and specifically at the Epihotel KALIMERA MARE hotel. So, I will describe in my opinion how it was:
1. The purchase of vouchers at the NEVA-Travel telephone company was accompanied by a phrase from the staff about the hotel: “we were not there, so we don’t know the nuances, an ordinary 4 * hotel, all inclusive, sunbeds with umbrellas for a fee, a safe too”, swimming pool. . . " etc. in short, everything that is indicated on the "NEVA" website, which we actually saw ourselves flipping through the pages of the "Internet" in search of information about the upcoming trip...
2. Flight there - everything is worthy with food, etc. except for a hitch at registration due to the child (somehow the children did not want to "bear")
3. The Beleon TOUR company met us, pleasant smiling employees in orange shirts handed out envelopes with booklets about Kos and offers to purchase excursions to everyone, later it seemed that excursions and car rental at the highest prices were the main activity of this firms, i. e. if you address them as a meeting party with problems, then they will listen to you carefully, perhaps even try to help, but this will not bring results... although it all depends on the type of claims, perhaps with hefty persistence and modesty of the claim, they will be able to help you. . .
4. The first impression of the Kalimera Mare hotel is not bad, but morally and technically the hotel is clearly outdated and does not correspond to the declared 4 stars... maximum 3 * +... and as it turned out later, 2 * + is the most appropriate rating for this place …
In confirmation of the words, I will indicate +/- (the opinion of our family, and not only)
Disadvantages:
- Distance from the nearest settlement and, therefore, from the slightest shop (so as not to starve to death or buy funds for sunburn and from cockroaches) in the village of Kardamena - 3 km (bus 1.6 euros)
- Rooms - have Non-working PAID air conditioners (4 euros / day), as shown by a survey of "vacationers" they do not work in 70% of cases, thus. if you are not among the lucky 30% and the air conditioner, to the extent of its moral and technical obsolescence, does not work, do not hesitate to demand a refund for the remote control taken at the reception. As well as average scall repairs and furniture, a TV from the distant 90.14 ”CRT broadcasting Turkish channels in our case for the first week, and after that, apparently thanks to the pleas of vacationers, musicBOX RU and RBC appeared with the quality of whoever is lucky, because the cable, like the air conditioners, probably dilapidated in full for 8 years of downtime of the open-air hotel (because it did not function from 2002 to 2010, which, by the way, the operators are silent about). Cleaning is also available, but the quality leaves much to be desired, there was enough toilet paper, soap and shampoo gel, but in order for you to change bed linen or towels, you need to remove them and throw them on the floor, otherwise you won’t wait...
- Lack of any entertainment (animation), etc. – you will feel like you are in a village, on three sides the hotel is surrounded by wastelands with strolling and mooing cows, chirping grasshoppers, locusts and from time to time an unpleasant smell of “canal” wafted over
- Food, despite the fact that it is still there, also leaves much to be desired, firstly because it is strictly tied to time: breakfast from 07:30 to 9:30, lunch from 13:00 to 14:30 , dinner from 19:30 to 21:30... "snack" if I may say so regarding a portion of ice cream from 17 to 18 hours you will not be able to do anything else and secondly - be vigilant - take a closer look, sniff and taste the food in the "canteen" milk can be sour, as well as tomatoes that you want to put in a croissant in the morning, and from a half-eaten morning omelet you will be served a salad in the afternoon - this is the norm of life! It also does not hurt to abandon the "juice" - drinks of unknown origin and color and "lemonade" and the presence of which directly depends on whether there is water in the tap or not! And also do not forget to look after the cleanliness of the dishes... the foam from the “coffee from the machine” may not be washed off randomly, and you go there with your tea, which is either black or chamomile at best, it can be both!... take green lovers with yourself from home!
- BEACH - not cleaned, around napkins, cigarette butts, boxes / bottles of drinks, as well as traces of vegetation, cones and needles, etc. , sunbeds (the cheapest plastic ones in not the best condition) paid 6 euros a day, the beach was first mixed with sand (it is not fine name), then pebbles, thanks to which the water is clean, but it’s inconvenient to enter, to put it mildly... which, in principle, is not for everyone, but by my standards, sand is desirable...
Advantages (rather, what was due with the star rating and cost of the hotel):
- Sufficient range of locally produced alcoholic beverages: liqueurs, gin, whiskey, vodka, brandy, rum, etc. those. for those who like to apply regularly (and there is nothing else to do in the hotel) the most THAT!
- Some staff speaks Russian
Thus, to sum up, if you are there (meaning the Calimera Marais hotel) only to spend the night, and from morning to evening you will be on excursions, beaches, and trips in a rented car, AND YOU SHOULD BE LUCKY WITH AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM, then the stay can be said to be tolerable , although you can get the same for less money elsewhere, OTHERWISE - I recommend finding another hotel with more positive reviews, or rather not taking vouchers at all to a hotel where none of your friends have been or at worst there are no reviews at all! ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY
