Rested in June 2011: my wife and child 5 years old, my brother with his wife and two children (5 and 7 years old).
As a rule, you compare your holiday with the rest of the previous year (we rested in Louis Zante Beach 4 *, Zakynthos, Greece) - and so, Atlantis seemed to us a terrible hotel, not worthy of either its 4 * status or cost. Moreover, my family's trips to Atlantis cost 110 thousand rubles (12 days, all inclusive), and in 2010 we went to Zakynthos for 66 thousand rubles.

But not everything is so bad, if you do not spoil your vacation yourself. So:

Since almost a year has passed, I don’t remember some of the details. The flight, transfer and check-in took place as usual. Tomato juice on the plane - as always, unusually tasty. As always, we were waiting for some clowns who managed to get their luggage 40 minutes later than the whole bus. The return flight was delayed by an hour and a half. It's unfortunate, but we survived. Most of all, in these situations, it infuriates that you do not know the reason for the delay and its duration.
And after all, neither the representative of the tour operator, nor the representative of the airline will ever deign to bring this information to passengers!

Our room was on the second floor in the main building. Therefore, the first impression is an elevator. To be honest, I have never seen such squalor in a 4 * hotel (and did not expect to see it). No, of course, it cannot compete with the elevators in our Russian houses (sometimes it’s scary to enter our elevators), but still 4 * ...In short, we rode the elevator only 2 times (and then only because of the suitcases) when they moved in and when they moved out.

The second impression is the room: the stench was terrible in the room! They asked to change (three times) - only on the 3rd day they offered a room on the 1st floor of the bungalow - we did not like it.
In addition, by this time, the smell in the room had disappeared, but unpleasant memories remained (we later assumed that the room had just been empty for some time before us, so the smell from the sewerage spread throughout the room). A hole in the floor, in the center of the bathroom (for what - unknown. Maybe just for the smell? ). But in general, the number is a standard small four, below average (points by 2-3). Plumbing is old, a small "pot-bellied" TV. The safe in the room, in my opinion, was paid (we used). The air conditioner worked fine. Doors in all rooms were closed with a deafening roar. Corridor, restaurant, room - in general, the entire hotel is in need of repair.

But our friends, who lived in a 2-storey building, were much more lucky with the number: 2 rooms, a huge balcony, a large bathroom and no extraneous odors. We ourselves, of course, did not live in this room, but friends did not complain.
Their building was located on the very edge of the hotel, so very often in the evenings we sat on their balcony and enjoyed the silence.

Beach: sand with small pebbles. The entrance to the sea is a pebble. Someone bought slippers so that it would not hurt to enter, we managed. Unpleasant, but tolerable. And the kids, in my opinion, also came without slippers. What is not very good for children is that after almost 2 meters the depth begins, there is no shallow water at all. So they always swam with armlets. The beach is quite clean, there was no accumulation of dirt. Pigs are always and everywhere, of course, found, but they did not prevail. The sea is also clean and warm.

The disadvantages of the island include constant wind. The hotel is located in the calmest part of the island (but the wind was still there and very often). We went to the other side of the island - it is generally impossible to be there - the wind is constant and very strong.
How people swim there is not clear at all. And there are hotels (one even five-star). Volleyball was organized on the beach every day - a very bad organization. Or rather, it didn't exist at all. Therefore, children often prevented adults from playing normally. In normal hotels, for example, first a game is organized for children, and then for adults, the organizer divides the players into teams, judges, etc. , etc. Here - nothing, they brought the ball and that's it. But in general, we played enough.

Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid - my brother always rented them early in the morning (thank you! ), because he likes to get up early and rent sunbeds - in principle, he goes on vacation for this  . Therefore, I did not particularly notice problems with free sunbeds. For those who do not want to pay or just like to lie on the sand, there are quite a few large trees on the beach - you can perfectly sit in their shade (many tourists did this).

Territory: large, well-groomed.
There is a semblance of a playground with a terrible screening underfoot - apparently, there was not enough money for grass. And the site itself is not a fountain. Children hardly played there.

Food: just awful. I don't want to use the word "disgusting" in relation to a story about a vacation, but it's hard to find another word. Everything was bad. I will not describe the dishes, because there are no comrades for the taste and color, I will just dwell on the negative points that I remember.

Very small dirty glasses, which were always in short supply and for which, in the literal sense, everyone was hunting. Until you find a clean glass, you need to sort out 5-10 pieces. Probably, the hotel wanted to save a lot on drinks, because we could not find another explanation for the size of these beakers. In order for one person to have enough water for dinner, it was necessary to collect 3-4 glasses (or run for water 3-4 times). As a result, our table was always half filled with glasses of water.
People carried glasses with drinks to their tables with whole trays. What kind of nonsense? Why not set normal glasses?

Lack of tea and coffee for lunch and dinner. There is dessert but no hot drinks. So that vacationers do not eat too much dessert? Dessert had to be washed down with water. It was not possible to buy tea or coffee due to the lack of waiters. And somehow I don’t really want to constantly carry 5-10 euros for tea with me to a restaurant. Is it all inclusive or what? Maybe tea in this hotel is equated to elite alcoholic drinks? In general, another nonsense.

By the way, about drinks: we didn’t try anything from alcohol except beer. As in all hotels where we have been on the “all inc” system, free beer is an incomprehensible liquid, only reminiscent of beer in color. Juices are a low quality diluted concentrate. But in this respect, as I already wrote, this hotel is no different from other 4 * hotels.
There were a lot of people who wanted to, because the other salads looked generally inedible. Someone quickly managed the task. But if you are unlucky and a gourmet is standing in front of you, you can stand in line for 10 minutes until this person cuts everything very carefully and beautifully arranges it on his plate. And, of course, skipping the line. How without it? But you won’t spoil your vacation because of a tomato - it’s funny. And sad….

Queues: for pancakes in the morning, for more or less tasty meat, which scattered instantly, for cups! at a free table. Pancakes in the morning were given only 2 pcs. - and none more. If you do not remove the plate and ask for a third pancake, the chef looks at you as if you were an enemy of the people - with really evil eyes. Well, just like in a concentration camp. If you stand in line alone and want to take, for example, 6 pancakes for the whole family - nothing will come of it - present the family for inspection.

As a result, almost every morning we stood for pancakes with the whole crowd. No, I understand that there is a queue and that everyone wants pancakes. But, firstly, everyone is behind pancakes, because there is nothing else to eat. And secondly, place a second chef nearby - what a problem. Why dishonor the hotel? The same story with ice cream in bars: if you want ice cream for all the kids, bring the crowd with you. Moreover, when you call the bartender, for example, 4 ice creams, he actually bends over the bar and counts the children (our Karapets are not yet visible because of the bar). Children themselves (without adults) are not given ice cream. That's such a savings!

Themed Dinners: As usual, we made an appointment in advance, dressed up and prepared to spend a wonderful evening in the fresh air. As a result: they came, turned around and left. The whole theme was that the tables are on the street, and of all the dishes of the main restaurant, only fish are presented (the evening was “fishy”, in my opinion).
Considering that sometimes there was nothing to eat in the main restaurant, one can imagine what was at the themed dinner. No table service, no romance, candles, table decorations - absolutely nothing. Needless to say, we didn’t even sign up for other themed dinners.

Animation Entertainment: we tried to go to the children's and adult. They could not stand more than 5 minutes on each - just a parody. At the same time, we have never been to Turkey, where they say there are excellent animation programs - that is, we are not sophisticated comrades in this regard, but there was really nothing to see. We didn't even look. In the evenings we walked, the children rode bicycles (there is a bicycle rental directly opposite the hotel - we rented bicycles for children for all days, fastened them to the stairs below - they did not disappear).

Service: in the restaurant and in the bars - very poor.
The waiters not only do not have time to do anything, but are also rude when you ask them. Although I may be exaggerating, because no one speaks Russian or English (except for the girls at the reception) - they say something in their own language - I don’t know what exactly. It's just that when they answer you something, their eyes are angry, and their intonation is aggressive - maybe it's just a feature of the mentality of the islanders - I don't know. There were many Russians, but we did not notice any special (bad or good) attitude.

Excursions: we did not go anywhere, because nothing interested us - at all. We didn't rent a car either. It seemed to us that there was absolutely nothing to see on the island. The cost of the ticket included a one-time free visit to the water park. We could not but take advantage of such a generous gift of fate, especially since we were already tired of lying on the beach.
We loaded literally packed into the bus (remembered our youth), in stuffiness we rode standing for 40 minutes to the water park (what kind of safety precautions? ) and, finally, we are in the water park! An ordinary Greek water park: for adults - nothing interesting, for children - a sea of u200bu200bdelight. 3.4 hours and back in the sauna bus.

That's the whole rest. If we had not been to Greece before, then after visiting this island and especially the hotel, one could say: Greece is a bad country, the Greeks do not know anything and do not want to know about normal service and organization of quality holidays, etc. etc. . P.

But, firstly, you can never judge a country, a hotel, and, moreover, an entire nation, by some individual episodes or life situations.
Secondly, we were in Greece for the third time and both previous holidays were the best in our entire travel career.
And thirdly, we also visited our Anapa and Sochi, and for the same money as in Greece.
But only those that you are rather tired of ... .
