Greece dreams come true. part 2 excursion
Having examined the territory of the hotel and the immediate surroundings and rested after the flight, it was time to get acquainted with the island and this was our first excursion. It was free and from the proposed ones we chose the Orthodox churches of the capital of Kerkyra. And this is how Kerkyra met us clean, fresh, washed and completely deserted .
And so slowly moving along the deserted streets we move to the church of St. Spyridon
And now, on a narrow street, the church of St. Spyridon appeared before us.
Outwardly small, but inside large and roomy, having visited the Liturgy, asking for "slippers" of St. Spyridon, we went on
Next was the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker
The group was not very large, so all questions were fully answered
Next was the temple of Queen Theodora and many more shrines of the island and this is the history of all mankind
And of course, it was already quite hot in the narrow streets, so the tours started early. everyone was from different hotels in the square waiting for the bus. And this is the view in front of us, we really wanted to go up to see it, but our strength was running out.
And here is our big comfortable bus with air conditioning.
And we went to the hotel full of impressions.
The next day is the day of getting to know the island, but then our interests were divided, I went on a survey around the island, and my friend went to the water park, the desire for a child, she so steadfastly withstood the tour that it was impossible to refuse, she was just great and we split up.
The hotel is still sleeping, everything is so calm and quiet that I wanted to capture all the moments.
They are still sleeping, but I run towards the island and the first stop was the Achillion Palace, the summer residence of Empress Sisi.
A beautiful and young Sisi herself meets us at the door
Looking into the mirror in which the empress herself looked, everyone looked in and giggled, each thought about his own. We walked around the park
We listened to the guide's stories and got some free time for photos and other things, but time to enjoy the atmosphere and, as the guide said, this is Sisi's dacha, there was not enough time to imagine being the owner of such a dacha and everyone ran to the bus.
And here we are in a clean, cool bus and moving on, then we have a tasting of kumquat liquor and sweets.
After tasting the sweets and buying whatever we wanted, we went further. Next, the beautiful Paleokastritsa was waiting for us, the Adriatic, as always, is beautiful and very much reminded me of Montenegro
A boat trip to the caves and grottoes was offered, but then there would be no time to swim, and here, of course, you will regret that you depend on the bus, but the water attracted like a magnet and after gurgling and wandering a little around the surroundings, we went to the small village of Lacones where we were waiting for lunch in a tavern and beautiful views.
It's a great skill to move through such narrow streets on such a big bus, the pros work
and such wonderful views appeared before our eyes. After having lunch and enjoying the beautiful views, we went further and another tasting in a small village, honestly I don’t remember the name, but I really liked the olive oil, an unusual jam from all kinds of products, etc. and everyone was happy and happy sent home to the hotel, and tomorrow rest, and then the long-awaited MetEora.
