We stayed for 2 weeks in August 2017. We went from Mouzenidis, which we did not regret at all: the service from the company was excellent: every day at the Vasilis hotel, special respect and respect for high-quality unobtrusive consultations, delivered a SIM card from Cosmote, helped with the choice of excursions, recommended the rent-a-car service with competitive prices, and most importantly - the cars really were, and this is at the peak of the season (! ) when it is simply impossible to find a 7-seater car, Vasilis tried to solve our domestic problems with water leakage from the bath, with the installation of an extra-bed for several days , for a son who arrived separately, and so on.
So, we arrived at 8 in the morning, in just half an hour: we were met at the airport, seated in a comfortable bus and another 40 minutes were taken to the Ionian Princess. We were supposed to check in at 14:00, but already at 11:30 we were given the expected room, the largest in the hotel, as promised.
The room has not yet been renovated since it was built, 10 years ago, the furniture is in good condition, but outdated, like the LG TV with a 14 ”screen and a cathode-beam kinescope, a refrigerator like in a minibar, however, the ice was prepared quickly. As a gift - 2 plastic bottles of water of 0.5 liters. Neither the room nor the hotel itself was absolutely suitable for the declared 4 *, I would not give more than 2 *. The room had a completely useless Jacuzzi in the summer, the water from which flowed under the bottom to the floor, there was a constant puddle measuring 0.25 sq. The first days they asked to fix the leak every day, the hotel imitated the repair, but then we realized that this shortcoming was a major one, which could be eliminated only when the bathtub was dismantled. Occasionally, the staff would throw one of the towels on the floor, which made it possible to avoid "open water" for some time. There were evenings when the lights were turned off for 5-7 minutes 3-5 times, at which time the elevators were turned off, otherwise people would simply get stuck in them.

The plate was hung out printed in advance, apparently, turning off the elevator is a common occurrence. Another of the major shortcomings - during the peak analysis of hot water - at 14-15 o'clock and in the evening at about 18 o'clock, it was necessary to wash with cool water, sometimes almost cold. The air conditioners were noisy, we turned them off at night, opened the balcony doors, but the mosquitoes swooped in, despite all means of dealing with them. During the day we had to destroy them with a towel. The means of combating mosquitoes distributed by the staff had no effect. The food was tolerable, very tasty soups and Greek salad seasoned with olive oil, ice cream - just ice, only apple juice seemed natural. There are a lot of salads, but they didn’t dare to eat them except Greek - a lot of vinegar and pickled vegetables. After one experiment, the children's stomachs ached. But no one left hungry.
The signature dish - donuts covered with chocolate was in a special esteem, they were quickly sorted out. In the evening we spoiled ourselves with watermelons and some melons. Peaches and awesome cherries were bought by themselves from merchants who came to the beach. But, as it turned out, in the shops on rural Broadway, all this food was half the price. There were also tables in the open air of the canteen (you can’t call it a restaurant), but without tablecloths, often sticky from previous meals - they were cleaned poorly, but at the same time, frequently used dishes were cleaned quickly by the staff. The staff themselves were not knowledgeable and could not understand whether the dish would still be eaten if its owner temporarily went for juice or salt to the next table. For a meal of 3 courses, I had to go three times for cutlery, the shortage of which arose constantly, it was necessary to scan those tables where cutlery was waiting for new visitors.
Internet in the lobby - below criticism, constantly hung up. Periodically, at the most inopportune moment - required password confirmation. There were two pools, but we did not test them, the children swam and were pleased with the water polo. There are a lot of Poles, Slovaks and Czechs in the hotel, who rarely got to the sea and drank drinks from the pool bar. The beach is 150 meters along a rural street, the beach strip is 30 meters of clean sand, but it is very long, 3-4 km to the left and right. A set of an umbrella and two sunbeds is paid, 7 euros each, but because of the general mess in the hotel, the money often did not come to pick up, they paid 5 times for the first week.
In a word, the service is 3 points, but the main thing is that the sea is wonderful. The first three days I was looking for at least some garbage, floating or on the beach - not a speck! Pebbles on the shore with a strip of 2-3 meters, slippers are not required, the bottom is purely sandy, the spit is 30 meters from the shore, there is a waist-deep sea and further - a gentle entrance, ideal for children!

The food package was HB, which we did not regret, we went to dinner at the Pumphouse - a wonderful cozy restaurant near the central "circle" in the village, which was called the "well". There is a stop for all sightseeing buses. The PumpHouse menu is plentiful and democratic: Seabass and Swordfish, excellent cuisine, the highest service, it is impossible to eat a serving of Greek salad alone. The feature of the restaurant is garlic bread, they did not understand how they make it, everything is very tasty and inexpensive. A couple of times we dined opposite in the Odysseus restaurant, also on the "circle of the well" - but we liked it less there.
Corfu is a wonderful island, a wonderful sea, but the Ionian Princess Clud 4 * hotel and the service in it are the last century. But in general - tolerable, sometimes very good. In the evenings, there is almost live music in the hotel lobby - it's nice to sit with a glass and you can even dance, sometimes for children the animators arrange English-language shows on the stage called Theatre. One Saturday was an evening of meat on the grill.
It cannot be said that the owners did not try, they were sincere, but everything looked more like amateur performance than professional hotel service. There was a playground for mini-football and maybe even tennis, but even our children did not get there: there was a parking lot nearby and garbage cans did not ozogize the air.
Special thanks to Mouzenidis for his professional approach to non-standard situations: our flight was supposed to be at 8:20, we planned to get up at 4:40, for breakfast at such an early hour - only coffee and a sandwich, departure at 5:35, but the flight was delayed, what Mouzenidis found out in a timely manner through his channels and promptly called us, still sleeping, at 4:15, they said that we could sleep on, then you can have breakfast and maybe even dine at the expense of the host, they were not evicted from the room, they lay on the sea all day and swam, as if not on the day of departure, we left the hotel only at 18:00, in a word, Mouzenidis was on top!
At the airport, the flight was still postponed several times for half an hour, then for an hour, they sent another board, in Kyiv they were at 1:00 am instead of 11:00 because of EllinAir, a very unreliable airline.

We rented a car for 5 days, went to Paleokastritsa, Kerkyra, Aqualand - all destinations - 5 *. Above the bay of Paleokastritsa, 3-4 km along the mountain serpentine, there is the village of Angelokastritsa, from there a bewitching view of the bay and the westernmost bastion in Corfu. In Paleokastritsa itself, we recommend Alpha Beach (? ) in the central bay, a restaurant with Sea Food right on the shore and there, from the waiters, you can order a boat for 3-4 hours, they will show the owner of the boat at the pier, with whom you can negotiate for 80 euros + 10 euros for gas and you get a great modern boat with a 30 hp Honda, no license required, you just need to demonstrate that you can tie the end in a figure eight knot. We had a wonderful walk along the water area, landed on a desert island, on deserted beaches.
Such a service - boat rental - is also on the beach, but the boats are worse there, and the "operators" themselves do not inspire confidence. Separately, you need a day to visit Achilleion, the summer palace of Empress Sisi, 20 km south of Corfu - rating - 4 *, a large beautiful mansion with a lot of sculptures, the most famous of which is Achilles taking an arrow from his heel, around - a beautiful park . It seems like they visited the Crimean Livadia Palace, although the interior and exterior decoration is richer. We visited Corfu itself on Cape Kanoni with an observation deck on the airport runway, remembered how spectacular the landing was - how you land on the water in a bay sandwiched by mountains. Children and women were agitated when landing. The impressionable is better not to look out the windows.
On the way from Kerkyra to the village of Dasia, there is a picturesque tiny peninsula in the bay, on which there is a small basilica - an Orthodox church with 3-4 monks.
This is an Orthodox temple - a symbol of Corfu, is in all guidebooks. There you can take a boat ride on about. Mouse. That's all the main attractions of Corfu. The greatest impression was left from the church of St. Spyridon with the liturgy and also from visiting the Old Fortress in Corfu with wonderful views of the city, the bay and the sea. August 11-13 came to the annual Day of St. Spyridon, the savior of Corfu from the plague and from the Turks. There was a grandiose parade of brass bands, a religious procession with an ark with the relics of the Saint. An unforgettable sight, a real holiday! True, the secular nature of the holiday plunges the truly Orthodox into a stupor - well, not a religious action at all! It was as if I had been to a May Day demonstration!
The rest of the island does not deserve special attention and time. Only the sea!

The one who goes for service is not in Ionian Princess, but who needs wonderful clear sea, delicious fruits and Sea Food - all this is in abundance in the village of Acharavi, Corfu, and at the same time the choice of the Ionian Princess Club 4 * hotel is not the best last choice!
