Halkidiki-Thessaloniki
Hello everyone. I would like to share our impressions of our holiday on the Halkidiki peninsula. We rested in May, because at this time there are not too many visitors and the weather is great - the temperature does not often reach 30 degrees. We had a chic hotel - Pomegranate. The service here is top notch. The guys from Mouzenidis Travel met us, they helped us during the holidays, they also always came to them for advice!
Perhaps, one of the most vivid emotions associated with Halkidiki was left from visiting the northern capital of Greece, Thessaloniki. Firstly, it’s not far to go - 40 minutes from our hotel. Secondly, already on the bus you begin to get acquainted with the main sights of the city, navigate its streets and gradually fall in love with it. We reached the Acropolis - that is, the highest point of the ancient city, and what a view from there! Every time we come to Greece, we discover it from a new side and Thessaloniki became another surprise. The guide introduced us to the history of the city, the features of the buildings and the origin of the name.
The tour turned out to be very versatile - you can visit historical monuments, Orthodox churches and still have time to go shopping. The ruins of the ancient imperial palace and graffiti street art are so harmoniously combined here!
By the way, Thessaloniki is a city with a million people, but despite everything, life here is very measured, without fuss, in general, as the Greeks love. We wandered along the narrow streets and everywhere we met cozy coffee houses where young people relax, small shops with handmade jewelry, fruit and sweets stalls. Be sure to walk along the embankment to see the symbol of the city - the White Tower. And a whole block with taverns!
As a result, we went to Thessaloniki again, but for the purpose of shopping, and again we were satisfied! So, be sure to get to know the city of Thessaloniki.
