I never write reviews, although I read a lot of reviews from other tourists before the next trip, but I wanted to write about Portes Beach, because. For the first time in my life, I frankly missed the choice of a hotel.
He does not pull on a four, but a quite confident three, maybe. even with a plus. Small, beautiful, well-groomed territory (the hotel is an HV), with neat flower beds and small gardens.
The sea is shallow - a paradise for children, trouble for those who like to swim! The beach is not cleaned, so there is no need to litter, and there will be no need to clean up, my opinion is this! The beaches are semi-desert, you can safely leave your things and go swimming, no one will steal, because there is no one. The food in the restaurant is quite edible, everything seems to be delicious, it was fresh. For some reason, the room was cleaned somewhere between 14.00. and 16.00. , also another question mark! The staff - almost all ponti, immigrants from Georgia, speak Russian somehow, you can’t call them friendly, rather indifferent, but they do their job.

In general, I did not notice any obvious shortcomings, but... Longing is mortal! The whole holiday: sea-room-sea-room! The fact is that the hotel is located quite far from settlements (Nea Potidea-2 km and Nea Mudania-5 km). Moreover, both villages represent a similar sleepy kingdom. This is the first time I came across such a location of the hotel (not in the village) and I was extremely surprised. They say that the location of hotels in Turkey and Egypt is also approximately organized (I don’t know, I haven’t been), which is normal for the tourist industry, like people want to take a break from the hustle and bustle, and for the safety of hotel guests, etc. Well, I don't know how. But what about - “to see people, to show themselves”?
In general, I did not feel the national Greek flavor, although the country itself is a miracle how good it is! Wonderful music (fortunately, I had it with me in the player : )), one of the most beautiful languages in Europe, people are charming! Thessaloniki - wow! Only trips there and pleased. By the way, surprisingly, not the worst shopping, both in terms of souvenirs, and in terms of pleasing yourself!
A folklore evening at the hotel - once a week (and this is in the Balkans, where 99% of the population, young and old, dance and sing !! ) cannot be compared with Cypriot evenings on the island of the same name.
I read somewhere that Portes Beach is "a hotel for self-sufficient people. " Don't believe! I consider myself a completely self-sufficient person, as a tourist (dash migrant : ))) with experience, I know how to organize my rest and leisure, I don’t need to entertain, but here I was frankly bored. A hotel for a little dynamic and, I'm not afraid of the word, lazy tourists with a not quite inquisitive brain.
And a paradise for German pensioners (yeah…beer at 11 am under the scorching sun - it's tough, worth a look! . . ) and their wives, covered with tattoos in the most unexpected places and at such a venerable age, sunbathing exclusively topless! : )
