Do not believe the statements about supermarkets, they simply do not exist, there are 1.5 small shops with a small assortment of products, but this is not enough for self-catering and only for those who are not picky about food, the nearest hyper is 10 km, but without personal transport you can’t reach or get there, and only public remains stop. There are no problems to rent a car, there are many agencies (ask your travel agent on the spot) and taste local products both in taverns and from local markets (however, quite decent in terms of assortment and prices) and you can cook in the room.
