This country cannot leave you indifferent; once you get here, you will certainly return again. Here we are) for the third time we return to our beloved country and the second time to the same Alexander The Great hotel. We really liked this hotel and would like to recommend it to everyone.
Pros:
First of all, it's the location. It is located in the middle of Kasandra, nearby there are several small villages - Kriopigi and Kallithea. Everything that tourists need can be found there, but prices are better in the shopping center that the hotel offers. Kallithea is very good for young people: discos and other nightly entertainment.
- SEA!! ! The sea is just something. The hotel has a gorgeous sandy beach with a blue flag.
-Territory. The territory is not big, but not small either. Very green, like a garden. Lots of different fruit trees and beautiful flowers. There are coniferous forests around and a wonderful aroma is constantly in the air. On the territory there is a beautiful tavern overlooking the sea, a very cozy place.
- Rooms. We took a standard one in the building, but I can say that you can safely take a bungalow - this gives some special flavor.
- The food at the hotel is good, the choice is large, everything is delicious in Greek))).
The downside, perhaps, is the lack of all-inclusive, the hotel only works on HB and FB, All-inclusive, which is loved by everyone, probably would not hurt here.
And of the minuses - expensive internet, but you can buy a SIM card for 15 euros from hotel guides and you will have enough internet for the entire vacation, and you will always have it with you, which is very convenient if you rent a car, for example.
I strongly advise everyone to visit the neighboring village of Afytos. A colorful place, a small town with small houses and narrow streets leading to the most beautiful view of the sea - the city - "balcony"!
We rented a car for a day for 50 euros, and also went on excursions. Everything is clear and well organized.
A very nice park area with many fruit trees, in the courtyard of the central building there is a swimming pool and a restaurant. The most beautiful view of the sea, as the hotel is located on a hill. All questions at the hotel can be resolved very quickly thanks to the participation of a separate guide from our tour operator. The room was clean, but not quite new, from communication with other vacationers living in the bungalow of the same hotel, it was clear that it was a little more comfortable there.
As for the food, no frills, everything as we expected, half board is a very convenient option, as we are lovers of active passing time. Although it was very difficult to get off the beach, we still went on a few excursions. We were on a boat trip along the holy Mount Athos, visited the Greek evening (very fun and unforgettable), as well as a congress or a sightseeing tour of Thessaloniki. We had the opportunity to have a tasty and not expensive lunch at the restaurant of the Enigma shopping center, as we were there twice. I bought a fur coat from the second trip, since I decided to add a hood to myself, they brought it to me a day after the first visit, they offered to deliver it for free directly to the hotel, but I decided to check the finishing touches, and at the same time buy some more souvenirs and, as I mentioned earlier, have a delicious lunch ( very convenient set menu).
Thanks to everyone who worked hard for us! Vacation was a success!
The hotel with a large territory, is located, as it were, on a hill, on the first line - an elevator leads to the sea, or you can go down the stairs on foot. The beach is very beautiful, with white sand, in the evening the sand is leveled by a special machine. Very beautiful views of the neighboring peninsula - Sithonia. Sunbeds and umbrellas - for a fee, 6 euros per day per set. There is a bar on the beach, but there, in my opinion, prices are high, for example, 4 euros for a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
The room that they first gave me was on the first floor in the main building, I asked for a higher floor, and they moved me without any additional payments. Rooms are average and could be refurbished. Also in the restaurant oldish chairs. There is no kettle in the room or in the hotel in general. Cleaned in the room in principle regularly.
We rested according to the food system: breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, drinks are included in the price, for dinner - for an extra charge, our travel agent warned us about this. As for the food itself, it is generally not bad - there are different types of fruits, meat is usually two types, various side dishes and salads. There is always pasta. Sometimes there are delicious desserts, in general, the choice of food is quite large.
The hotel is suitable for recreation of different tourists: both families and adult couples, as well as adult singles. Its biggest plus is its proximity to a stunning beach. Convenient location - on one side, 2-2.5 km away, there is Kalithea and many discos, on the other side - the village of Kriopigi. In Greece, all the villages are different from each other, each with its own character. Not far from Kallithea is also the village of Afytos - I liked the very beautiful panoramic view of the sea from the fish tavern, where we had a delicious lunch.
The food is decent. Of course, you can diversify breakfast more, and paid drinks at dinner are somehow inconvenient, you need to always have money with you. But nothing, but the hotel had a tavern, and bars, and a small shop. I liked the lack of animation, I don’t like it, I want to enjoy the rest, and not compete in games. We will remember the hotel staff for a long time - people are sympathetic, friendly, Zurika helped a lot everywhere (he spoke Russian) and the girls - hotel guides.
In May, there are few people, so we can say that the first days of rest, the hotel pool was all ours. The beach, due to the lack of crowds, seemed almost wild, which is great.
The first days of rest explored the area, we love to walk. In 25 minutes we reached the village of Kriopigi, had a delicious meal there, walked around a real Greek village. On the second day, we walked to the town of Kallithea (40 minutes walk) - there is a purely tourist area, bars, shops ...we were not particularly impressed. We met a local resident, he took us to a more interesting place - the city of Afytos - there are cute colorful houses in the Greek style, and a gorgeous panoramic view of the sea right from the tavern, where we were lucky to have lunch. We walked in Afitos for a long time, in the evening we returned back by taxi.
In addition, we were on excursions - we looked at the numerous shrines of Greece, as far as possible.
Therefore, my son and I traveled literally every other day: we saw the majestic Meteora and Athens (two-day excursion), the shrines of Thessaloniki, the holy places of the Langada diocese. After each of these trips, they returned with a feeling of pleasant fatigue and spiritual enrichment. I liked the guides Olga and mother Neonila, who took us on pilgrimage tours. Our guide Konstantin took us to Athens-Meteora. I would like to thank you all for a great vacation.
The standard rooms of the hotel are decorated ascetically: white walls, wooden furniture. However, they have everything you need: TV, hairdryer, safe (free of charge). Wi-Fi for an extra charge - 5 euros / week.
The hotel works on the HB system, all drinks for dinner are for an extra charge (take this into account in the overhead so that you will not be surprised when they ask for 2 euros per glass for juice for your children). The hotel is located one and a half kilometers from the village of Kriopigi and about two kilometers from the village of Kallithea.
I wish you all a pleasant holiday!
