We rested in Greece at the end of September at the Mareblue Village 4 * hotel with a family of 4 people, two adults and two children 3 and 10 years old. The hotel is located on a mountain, it offers a beautiful view of the sea and the surrounding area, and it seemed to us that the windows of all the bungalows face the sea. The territory is medium in size, green and well-groomed, has its own new water park, there are swimming pools for children and adults, near which there were always enough sunbeds. There are also 2 mini clubs for children, but they are designed for foreign children, no one speaks Russian there, children's animators speak only a little, and then only at the children's disco in the evening. All hotel staff also communicate only in foreign languages, since there are practically no Russian-speaking people in the hotel, but if you know English, then this is not a problem at all, but on the contrary, you can practice speaking and relax in silence from our people. The hotel staff is polite and helpful, rudeness has never been observed anywhere, all our requests were resolved instantly. We liked the food at the hotel, there was enough of everything, there were almost no queues for food. But as for the sea, not everything suited us there, until we found a good place for swimming. The bus from the hotel several times according to the schedule carries to the sea, if on foot, then you need to go about 15-20 minutes and this is in a mountainous area. The bus takes you to the Star Beach Hotel where the beach is located, but here it is terrible, dirty, there is almost no place for swimming, it is fenced off with ropes on all sides in the water, but if you go to the right of this beach, then there are great places for swimming with a sandy bottom, where you can also rent a sun lounger and an umbrella if you need it. We were really unlucky with the weather, it was constantly cloudy, it was a little cool in the evenings and there were big waves on the sea, although the sun was visible every day far from Hersonissos, maybe this is such a place, because it was always sunny and hot on excursions. As for lovers of active and fun youth recreation, this is not for you, during the day we have never watched animation for all 12 days, the animators only wandered around the territory, in the evening there were some shows in the closed amphitheater, but we didn’t go there, they said that they were uninteresting. There is practically nowhere to walk around the territory in the evening, everyone is concentrated near the bar, you have to go to the city for entertainment. In general, this hotel is suitable for those who like a calm and measured rest. You can get to any point of the island by regular buses, it is not difficult and not dangerous, but there is something to see on the island. You can take excursions from the host, although they are not cheap, you can just rent a car, but driving on such roads is quite difficult, they are narrow, few people follow the rules, you need a skill. In general, about I liked Crete, although if you compare Turkey or Egypt, it doesn’t differ much from them in terms of recreation, on vacation in each country there are pluses and minuses and it all depends on the mood with which you are traveling and what you expect to get from the rest that depends directly from the price category of the hotel.
