I lost count of how many times we vacationed in Turkey and Egypt, so we decided to expand the list of countries (a long flight was unacceptable, because the child is 2 years old), persuaded my husband to go to Greece! So many opinions and reviews from friends, everyone is happy, everyone liked it, but our vacation was ruined. In unison, they decided that they didn’t have a foot in Greece anymore, they would grow to the Turkish level and plant-laden, arrogant, expensive Greeks, you don’t have anything unusual and surprising except for high prices in euros and savings on tourists! As I wrote in the comments, after registering at the airport, we were informed that the hotel booked 3 months in advance for early booking was completely full and we were offered the only option - Mitsis Laguna Beach in a completely different area - Hersonissos, instead of Aquila Rethimno Beach in Rethymno. No scandals helped, the fact that we were preparing, re-read everything about Rethymno and the chosen hotel had super conditions for our little daughter did not affect - the meeting party indifferently confronted us. I draw the attention of Ukrainians to the fact that they bought a tour in Odessa at the Sun Travel Plus travel agency (not for the first time) and ordered through the tour operator JOIN UP ! , which recently appeared in the travel business and gave the lowest prices. So they let us down by not booking the right hotel, but they sent confirmation of the reservation, (the travel agency explained that they say people rushed en masse to Greece and booked the same places several times, so it turned out to be an overlay) - no compensation and apologies were not forthcoming. We were not the only ones from Ukraine who were settled in the wrong hotel from this particular operator, so I recommend paying more, but going through trusted tour operators. Out of hopelessness, we went to Mitsis Laguna, the only thing that bribed was that the hotel was 3 years old and it was new. The room was really impressive - beautiful, modern, but later we were disappointed. Despite the fact that we paid 3.000 euros for 10 days, we never saw seafood in a restaurant (although Greek cuisine is praised a lot in the reviews, they say it’s delicious and varied, there were a lot of seafood), in the same hotel for 10 days we ate monotonous food - pieces of pangasius fish and grilled meat of unknown origin (fried on both sides), tasteless unleavened coarsely chopped salads and french fries. There is no children's menu, which extremely overshadowed our vacation with manyunya (I ate only pasta), the baklava was with peanuts, and everything was removed very quickly as soon as the time "h" came, so that no one took too much))) We went to a restaurant in Hersonissos, ate shrimp and squid - 60 euros paid, and in Rethymno for shrimp and lobster 160 euros, despite the fact that they catch it all right in the sea - very expensive! Well, drinking at the hotel is generally disgusting - people diluted wine with cola and sprite !! ! I would never have thought that Greek wine would be so vile - I don’t even want to talk about the rest of the alcohol-fuuu! you can’t take it in your mouth in any form, the juices are diluted from the concentrate from the tanks where the sick inscription is 5 + 1 - like dilute 5 times more))) In the evening, a children’s disco, and an absolutely mediocre animation show day off - the first time I see this, who are we or they resting ??? ))) 3 times a week live music plays in the lobby - really pleased, except that all the places are occupied by Germans who do not dance, but only stare! Well, now the most important thing that brought us into complete shock: you need to take places near 3 pools and on the sea until 7 in the morning - if you don’t have time, you will be without a sun lounger. We just lay on the grass 2 times, where we still need to look for an empty place, because there are very few greenery and lawns. And all the pools are absolutely with salt water - here it is - savings !! ! This is the first time for us, so we felt all the unpleasantness of this fact not immediately, and when the skin tightened, like a roach that ran naked into the shower, and when the child began to cry from splashes in the eyes (the pain is unbearable, imagine salt with bleach) and irritation on the skin !! ! In short, swimming in the pool was a whole procedure and no pleasure! The sea is cool, but clean, the beach is very modest, small, with stones and pebbles. The children's club is open on schedule from 10-12 and from 15-17, how to explain to the child that you need to go out, because the club is closing - nonsense! The area around the hotel is nothing, except for the coast, goats graze, a clean village, go out onto the road, go uphill 1.5 km. Shop only in the hotel-prices-space! In general, the hotel is large and clean, the room has modern plumbing - and a shower cabin and a bathroom - comfortable. There is a pastry shop until 2 am, where really delicious pancakes and ice cream. Of course, we took a car, went to Rethymnon and Heraklion and Spinalonga - we liked it. But we won’t go to Crete anymore, the Greeks are absolutely not friendly and don’t worry much about the comfort and joy of tourists, there are too many “buts” for such a price and little enthusiasm. The flight on the way back was delayed for 4 hours, from 7 in the morning they collected tourists from hotels, at half past nine they were only brought to the airport and pushed out, despite the fact that it was already known that the departure was instead of 11 in the morning at 14.30. JOIN UP! bought from Pakistan - a nightmare and fear, a budget flight with a stale bun with cheese as lunch on board.
