We rested in May with my family in Crete. We chose a budget hotel in a quiet location. The hotel is located in the village of Analipsi (Hersonissos, 15 minutes by bus from Heraklion). The apartments have many advantages. They are located very close to the bus stop, it was convenient to travel to neighboring villages, there is a very cool Sims cafe nearby, where you can buy fredo coffee for 1.80, orange fresh for 2 euros (prices are pleasant by Greek standards), take sweets or sandwiches. There are many taverns, cafes, shops nearby, you need to walk a little to the beach, we walked in 10 minutes. Beach - choose any. The coastline is very long, there are wild beaches, and sandy, and with a stone entrance, and with a sandy bottom. But it is better to take swimming slippers with you. There may be stones in the sea. A set (2 sun loungers and an umbrella) costs an average of 6 euros. The sea was not as warm as we wanted, but we swam.
As for the hotel. Very cozy, I would say family-friendly. The territory is large, green, olive bushes are everywhere, which looks very beautiful and atmospheric, in Cretan style. There are two swimming pools with fresh water, one of them is for children. Once a week there is a Greek evening. It was pretty fun. But, of course, the Cretan evening, bought from our hotel guide, cannot be compared with the trip - heaven and earth. The food was very delicious. I can’t say that the food was exquisite, but everything is always fresh, tasty, homemade. Reminds me a bit of spa food. A lot of stewed, boiled, steamed. Children will be very helpful. There have always been fruits and vegetables. You could buy delicious wine in the restaurant. The rooms are bright, spacious, there is a kitchenette and all necessary utensils. The balcony offers a beautiful view of the olive grove, mountains, sea. Wi-Fi was excellent everywhere, including in the room. Cleaned often, the hotel was always clean. The hotel is quiet and the soundproofing is good. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. On the territory of the hotel there is a miniature church, which adds color to this place.
Of course, sitting in the room and on the beach all the time would be boring, and we took excursions from our hotel guide. Let's go to the children's play. The son was delighted. First we visited the aquarium, where there were fish, turtles and even sharks. Then visit the dinosaurs. I was bored, but my husband and son were wildly delighted. There was a foundry at the end, I also really liked it. Then we went to the Cave of Zeus. I was impressed by the color, high mountains, the Golden Gate and, of course, the cave itself. It is very old and beautiful. The child liked the small farm in the village where we had lunch. At the end of the tour, my son made a clay pot with his own hands, which we proudly took home. And that's all in one tour. We also rented a car for a couple of days from a hotel guide and traveled around Crete on our own. He is beautiful.

I recommend the hotel and be sure to visit this island at least once, we will definitely come back here again.
