From June 5, for a week, my husband and I decided to go on vacation to Greece. A little more than a week we took a last-minute tour through Teztour to Crete to Arina Sand. The opportunity to go came unexpectedly, so they didn’t find fault with the hotel at all and took what was. Flying Mau, no delays. Teztur - excellent at all stages.
Now about the hotel, which were very satisfied. If you take into account the cost and the fact that the hotel is 4 *, then everything is just fine. The rooms were renovated this year (they took them in a building overlooking the sea), everything is clean, fresh, new. Cleaning is good. The view from the window is just wonderful. The food, as for 4 *, is excellent, everything is fresh, tasty. The territory of the hotel and the building externally, it is felt that they are asking for repairs. The staff is very friendly, there is a very nice Russian-speaking woman at the reception. The beach is great (sand, fine, with kids just fine). The beach line is not very wide. I saw posted photos with algae thrown ashore (it happened one morning during strong waves). The cost of a sun lounger is 2 euros, an umbrella - euro. Set - 2 sun loungers and an umbrella - 5 euros. The cost is small, but if you do not want to pay for this, then there is no problem (sunbeds with umbrellas near the pool a few steps from the beach, stay there). There were always enough sun loungers. The hotel has a lot of Italians and citizens of Ukraine and Russia (I think 50/50). A hotel for a relaxing holiday. There is animation, but we didn’t take part in sporting events, and we weren’t personally interested in evening performances and we enjoyed spending this time near the sea with a glass of something tasty. Vacationers with children were very pleased with the children's disco. We saw a children's room in the hotel, but unfortunately we don't know how the children were entertained there. Once there was live music, and once live music and a performance by a dance group (national evening) - the whole hotel learned to dance sirtaki. To write that it was very bright, then no (I'm talking about live music), but anyway they listened and danced with pleasure. Indeed, the path of planes to land at Heraklion airport goes over this hotel, but believe me, this will absolutely not interfere with you and will definitely not spoil your vacation.
Now about excursions. As for me, the excursions from the tour operator are quite expensive. Many rent a car, the cheapest (office across the street from the hotel) is 30 euros per day, a liter of gasoline is about 1.8 euros. If someone, like us, does not want to rent a car, then there is no problem. For trips around the island there are comfortable buses (green). Opposite the hotel there is a bus stop and a timetable. Only the schedule needs to be read correctly - the indicated time is the time of departure from the final destination, and not the time of arrival at this stop. From Heraklion, the hotel is very close, drive from the airport for about 15 minutes, just add the bus leaving from Heraklion to Kokkini Hani to the indicated time and you will approximately be guided by the time the bus arrives at your stop.

The Cretan Aquarium is located very close (at the reception there are booklets in the form of a fish with a schedule of work and ticket prices). Adult ticket - 8 euros. We visited the aquarium in the evening (it is open until 21.00), there were almost no people. I liked the aquarium very much, you won't regret visiting it. What I would like to pay attention to: if you are with small children, calculate their strength - from the bus stop, with the Aquarium sign, there is still something to go through the territory of the former military base, where, in fact, the aquarium is located.
We also went to Heraklion (a bus ticket for one person, in my opinion, 1.60 euros). We walked in the port, looked at the fortress and visited the Archaeological Museum. Only one hall is really open, but the museum is definitely worth a visit. A ticket was bought for 10 euros per person (the same for the museum and Knossos), separately a ticket to the museum - 4 euros, Knossos - 6 euros. As you can see, there is no savings, but there is another plus in a single ticket. When we arrived in Knossos (the queue at the ticket office was huge), we entered the territory immediately. They also bought a book about Knossos and, armed with a guide to the palace, went for a walk. The place is very beautiful. Many write that you can not go to Knossos, I write - visit Knossos for sure.
And our last trip was to Agios Nikolaos. The cost of tickets from Kokkini Hani for two is 11.40 euros. I liked the town very much, in general we looked out the window with pleasure and on the way to Agios Nikolaos. The area is very green. The city itself is a small miracle - a beautiful lake, cozy streets. Walking is a pleasure.
A week in Crete flew by very quickly. We had a wonderful holiday and would love to come back again. At the airport of Heraklion, I really liked the Duty Free (all the gifts and souvenirs were bought there, the prices are not very bad). Somewhere in the reviews I read that someone did not like Duty Free there at all, but how many people have so many opinions. The airport is really tiny, Duty Free again, not bad.
