The beach has small pebbles, you can clearly see the bottom. It's better than the gray sand in Bali. Do not take a room with a sea view, there are many cafes downstairs - noisy. You can eat decently for 10 euros (cafe "Taverna", "Akropolis"). One of the administrators is Russian. Food - decent but monotonous breakfast and good dinner. We bought fresh juice (1.32 euros) and fruits in the Halkidos supermarket (SPAR). Car rental Carera is next to the hotel. The price must be compared with insurance, then the same money is obtained. Be sure to take a car. It pays off 2-3 times, because Excursions cost crazy money. Car rental will show you the best routes. You have to travel to see the real, very beautiful Crete with beautiful and very different views, beaches, historical sights. There is no rudeness on the roads, driving along the serpentine is not scary, but the rental cars for steep climbs are rather weak. People are friendly and responsive. In general, you feel safe in Crete. In general, I really liked everything.
