Bed linen is normal, I have not seen synthetic, although I am very scrupulous in these matters. Why did Natalie need hotel soap? There is a natural one for 65 cents on every corner (or rather, it is 1 euro everywhere, but at 65 cents I saw it in many places). Yes, and a 2-star hotel - as expected. What about shampoo? There is a wonderful shampoo in the pharmacy - Korres. Not very cheap, but great. I brought the leftovers home, you can’t buy such shampoo from us yet.
Breakfast is also quite - delicious cheese, toast, tea, egg. What I don’t eat or drink (anywhere), like ham, I haven’t even tried. The rest is quite edible.

But the sea is nearby. I took a tourist mat with me and sunbathed often on the beach - sunbeds are not very cheap. Sunbeds by the pool free of charge.
Prepared for tourists in taverns. In order to actually eat deliciously there, it was necessary to find a Greek tavern - where the Greeks themselves go to dine. I highly recommend one - Kotsos. And there is no menu in Russian. But you can learn the basic words in English. The lamb is excellent, it just melts in your mouth. In Greek, lamb.
The incident with the scandal at the pool, if everything was so, then this - I agree - is ugly on their part. But here are the rules. They themselves are very decent and do everything that is stated, and therefore require the same from the guests.
I was once remarked that I walked around the pool area with a bottle of water that was not bought from them at the bar (there was a different label). I did not know that this was not allowed, I apologized and went to choose a purchase at the bar - fresh orange juice. The incident has ended.
Conclusions: Crete is a special place, not the worst, I'm sure.
Greece, or rather Crete, is an interesting place (a resting place for all of Europe - all kinds of Germans and Austrians - they go there like out of town, so they don’t understand Russian at all, but everyone knows English and German.
But the products are natural. You can relax there, you just need to know the specifics and take everything into account, read the reviews before the trip - and everything will be fine.
For little money - Neon Hotel - a very decent hotel. Better clean in the "five" of Egypt - but that's another song!

By the way, I was also in Crete for the first time. There are also moments that I did not like, but this is far from a hotel. I didn't like the climate. Maybe it was the beginning of the season?
