Since I did not find reviews on the Kyknos Beach hotel on Russian-language sites, I considered it my duty to leave my own here. Hope it helps someone make a choice. Rested with my husband in this hotel in the period from May 25 to June 4.2011. Impressions remained the most positive. Grounds and beach. The hotel area is small but very cozy. The main building and several bungalows are surrounded by a flowering garden and front gardens with planted bushes of roses and geraniums - a delicious aroma is constantly in the air. There is an adult and children's pools, near the children's pool - a playground. Also on site there is a tennis court, table hockey, billiards and a gym. The hotel is located on the second coastline, 200 meters directly to the sea - no more. The path to the beach starts across the road from the hotel and stretches along flowering bushes and trees. The hotel does not have its own beach. As soon as you go to the sea, you see a row of sun loungers with umbrellas (of course, paid ones) and a huge number of stones that make it absolutely impossible to enter the sea. But on the left, in a three-minute walk, there is a good sandy beach of the neighboring hotel Alexander Beach with a sandy gentle entrance to the sea - a paradise for small children. The water in the sea is the purest. I used to think that such crystal water can only be in a sea with a rocky bottom, but it turned out that I was wrong - and it's nice. We stopped at this beach. Since they usually didn’t stay at sea for long, they didn’t rent sunbeds: they settled on them for free until there was an influx of Alexander Beach guests, or dried on the towels they brought with them. Rooms and service. Most of the hotel's rooms face the garden, the mountains and partly the sea. When planning a vacation, I assumed that all types are good and I agree with anyone. However, upon arrival I was very disappointed, because they gave us a room, the entrance to which was immersed in lush greenery, and the balcony overlooked the walls of the neighboring building - a complete feeling that you are in a dark closet. In my opinion, this is one of the worst rooms in the hotel. We asked at the reception to change the room, we were offered a room with a sea view with a surcharge of 10 euros per day. Sea view rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the main building, there are only 7 of them, and according to the hotel price list, they really cost 10 euros more than bungalow rooms. Moved to this room and never regretted it. The room is not luxurious, but everything is clean, everything works. There were no problems with electricity, water and sewerage, no living creatures were seen. The walls are in the Greek style - under white plaster. On the wall is a plasma TV with one Russian channel (RTR planet). I was especially pleased with the air conditioner: silent, worked without any quirks and exactly in accordance with our wishes. Well, the view of the sea is beyond praise. In the evening with a glass of wine - you can't imagine better for relaxation. By the way, the sea, in my opinion, can be seen only from the 3rd floor of the main building, that is, from the mentioned 7 rooms. All rooms have one drawback: there is no clothes dryer on the balcony, there are no hooks for clothes in the bathroom. At this point, someone will get used to it... We still didn’t understand whether they changed our linen and towels or not, but the room was cleaned very well. The staff is friendly, smiling, speaks without familiarity, greets in Greek (“Kalimera” - “Good morning”, “Kalispera” - “Good evening”), tries to speak Russian a lot. The hotel is visited mainly by foreigners, but it is felt that the staff is already responding to the appearance of Russian guests in the hotel. Nutrition. Compare with what I have seen. All inclusive in good hotels in Turkey and Egypt will certainly be cooler in terms of variety and number of dishes, but I have never eaten such delicious things as here, and it was at every meal. Everything is very homely, moderately fried, salted, seasoned, one can feel a creative spiritual approach to cooking. We took breakfast and dinner. Daily for dinner 2-3 types of meat (or meat with fish) and this is not "chicken" and soy cutlets, but pure meat: pork, beef, veal, rabbit, lamb. Chicken was given only 3 times in 10 days. The fish was in a day. Ice cream is available in the evenings. I can’t rate cakes and fruits: there was no more room left in my stomach for all this. Breakfasts are standard: cereals, milk, jams, pastries, good cheese and sausage cuts, sour cream, eggs, sausages, french fries. Everything is very fresh, no questionable salads from yesterday's products. The disadvantage for me was only a small amount of vegetables (greens) for breakfast: only cucumbers and tomatoes. Entertainment. If anyone is interested, there is no animation at all: they don’t go to Greece for this. Entertainment evenings around the pool two or three times a week: a Cretan evening with dances and songs, a fakir show, a barbecue evening, something else. Upon arrival, we got to a barbecue evening: you pay 15 euros from your nose and, in addition to your legitimate buffet, you have the pleasure of absorbing dishes located around the pool: fried meat of 6-7 types, lobsters, salads, pastries, fruits. All this with live music and with the opportunity to dance in a small area near the pool. Drinks are paid. In terms of food and service quality, in my opinion, the hotel deserves a solid four. And in terms of "price-quality" ratio, you can put him even more. With early booking with a flight from Syktyvkar, it cost 56 thousand for the two of us. rubles for 10 nights with a visa. Later it cost 20 thousand rubles more, but perhaps for Greece for such a hotel it is also inexpensive. Pegasus was once again unpleasantly surprised. Neither the day before departure nor on the day of departure did any message appear at the Pegas stand about the time of our departure from the hotel. They shrugged at the reception: "No fax. " From a compatriot, whom we met by chance at dinner, we learned about the time of departure. According to her, a representative of Pegasus named Irek, who was seen only once on the day of the first meeting, asked her to convey the news to us. A complete mess!! ! In the agency to the left of the hotel, we rented a Citroen for 2 days: together with full insurance, it cost $ 45. We spent a lot on gasoline, but it was worth it: we made sure that no excursions can replace an independent trip around Crete behind the wheel, there are a lot of advantages. We went to Santorini, to the water park, my husband took 3 dives, thanks to which I managed to sunbathe a little. In Greece for the first time, before that they visited only Turkey and Egypt, therefore the differences in mentality were especially appreciated. We left home with sadness, which means that the rest was a success. If there are questions, I will be happy to answer.
