We stayed at this hotel in August. I really liked Greece, the island of Crete and the Royal Belvedere hotel itself!
The main disadvantage of the hotel is the way back from the beach. It takes 15 minutes to walk up the hill. But on the other hand, is it useful? For those who are afraid of going uphill (30 degrees), it is better to choose something else.
Now about the good. Our room was with a sea view. It is very pleasant to wake up and look into the distance, a very beautiful view.
The All inclusive system is not very common in Greece, but this hotel has an excellent All inclusive! Ate once in the city, in a restaurant. So, at the hotel, we liked the food much more, and after that we no longer experimented, we went for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant in the hotel, by the way, with a gorgeous view of the sea and the pool. There is a separate area for children with small tables and chairs.
There are several pools, but we swam in the central one, the largest one. It is really huge, full-fledged, one might say Olympic! There is a tennis court, you can indulge.
You have to walk to the beach, but the beach itself is excellent, very large, beautiful, well-groomed area, there are a lot of young people on the shore, they hold foam discos. The road to the sea is well-maintained, on the sides there are greenery, palm trees and a mini-zoo - donkeys, goats, turtles. The animals are very happy when the kids feed them grass and buns from the restaurant. We always fed them on the way to the beach. On the beach there is a small children's water park with slides. The beach, in principle, is clean, sand, a very gentle entrance to the sea. There were strong waves for a couple of days, but it even gave some special interest to swimming. We spent a couple of days in the hotel, so to speak, led a beach-bathing lifestyle, and then rented a car and traveled around half the island. There are places on the island just fantastic! For example Balos Bay! It's just fantastic. I highly recommend going there.
