Mythos Palace (19.06 – 03.07. 2012) HOTEL: a three-storey building in white and blue colors, very beautiful. Located within walking distance from the village of Kavros. There are many supermarkets, souvenir shops, cafes. The hotel has one swimming pool. On the ground floors rooms with private pools. They speak English at the reception, there was only one Russian-speaking girl. The staff is friendly, they don't speak Russian. There is no free internet in the hotel (5*!!! ). You need to buy a card for 5 euros for an hour and a half. We went to a cafe in Kavros with free Wi-Fi. The hotel is designed for families with children. We chose it for a relaxing quiet holiday and really regretted it from the very first days. There are a lot of children. They run, scream, throw tantrums to their parents. There are very few tourists without children. It was not possible to spend time at the hotel in an adult company. There were many Italians, Germans, Ukrainians and Russians among the tourists. Western Ukrainians called all Russians Muscovites, did they speak Russian for some reason?!!! . The Italians behaved very relaxed, like at home. When they were defeated in the final by the Spaniards, they were upset and did not yell. If they won, they would have to leave the hotel. ROOM: was with a sea view. It was visible only from the balcony, and from the room - a view of the road and mountains. The room has an LCD TV LG, air conditioning. Three Russian-speaking channels. The air conditioner cooled the room very well. It was inconvenient to take a shower, in the bath there was a metal soap dish and a faucet located in the middle. In the evening there was not enough water for everyone, only a thin trickle flowed from the tap. The room was cleaned every day. The safe in the room cost 20 euros. Beach. sandy, clean, big. There is a river next to it. The smell from it is unpleasant. There are also fish and turtles. The sea was stormy all the time. We went into the water to wet our feet and get a couple of wave blows. Only two days during our stay it was calm and it was possible to swim normally. When asked by the guide when the sea is not stormy, he did not answer, but offered to rent a car and go to the lake. Rent a car from them at every turn. There were enough sunbeds for everyone throughout the day. They don't have mattresses on the beds. The sand is very hot, the tourists got burned. NUTRITION. There was meat, and chicken, and fish, and a rabbit. Meatballs, cutlets, sausages, sausages. For garnish - spaghetti, pasta, potatoes, rice, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. Pizza, spinach buns, pastries. For breakfast, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, pancakes. Soup for dinner only. In Kavros, the cafe Romantika prepares chicken soup. You can take it with you in a container to the hotel. From vegetables - standard cutting, Greek salad. From fruits - watermelon, melon, oranges, peaches, apples, grapefruits (very sour). Fresh only for money (3 euros). Coffee and tea in the restaurant was available for breakfast. The rest of the time only in the bar. To drink coffee with cakes, you had to either go up to the bar with cakes, and they forbid it, or carry coffee from the bar to the restaurant, it cools down on the way. And these restrictions in the hotel 5*!! ! From drinks - local white and red wine, beer, juices from packages, bottled drinking water. Local alcohol in the hotel did not like. EXCURSIONS: from Kavros every day trains leave for fresh lake Kournas and other places. A ticket for it costs 5 euros. The Greeks say that there are turtles in the lake, they offer catamarans. But none of the tourists saw them. We saw a big orange fish that looked like our bream. You can relax on the shore with local geese and ducks, eat in a cafe. Their dishes are very large. One was enough for two. Gortis - Matala - wine tasting: We were picked up from the hotel at 6.15. millenium travel does not pick up its tourists from the hotel, unlike Pegasa. Drivers are just too lazy to go to him. We had to walk to Vantaris Beach every time. Then we collected tourists for 3 hours. At 9 o'clock a guide appeared in Heraklion - a Greek named Andreas. It is difficult for Russian speakers to call him. He spoke Russian, but to understand his speech, one had to listen carefully and be near him. He spoke slowly and quietly. He was asked to speak louder, he did not. From Heraklion we were taken along the mountain serpentine to the monasteries. Interesting, but in the heat of 38 degrees it is difficult to inspect them. In Gortys, the entrance ticket costs 4 euros. Compared to Ephesus in Turkey, Gortys is a bunch of bricks. There is nothing special to see there. There were no stops for breakfast, lunch or just going to the toilet. First time we ate at 5.30 at the hotel: coffee with sandwiches, nothing else. The hotel gave us a lunch package: a sandwich, an apple, an orange, a bottle of water. It was impossible to eat it on the bus, the guide did not allow it, you cannot litter. The second time we ate at 12.30 at a wine tasting: we were offered croutons and cookies for a snack. We ate normally only at 16 o'clock in Matale in a cafe for our money, of course. You can change for swimming in the toilet. There is only one dressing room on the beach. The doors in it do not close, no hooks on the walls, very dirty. The bus driver opened the window for himself. He didn't turn on the air conditioner. We endured the whole excursion and waited, when we will finally return to the hotel! Santorini island: we were picked up from the Vantaris Beach hotel at 6.30. We sailed for 3 hours on a high-speed Mega Jet catamaran to Santorini. They transfer to buses and take them to the city along the mountain serpentine. There they ran at a gallop, inspecting churches and temples in the heat. The streets are very narrow and there are many tourists. The island is very beautiful, white houses against the blue sky and blue sea look great. At the end, they take us to a black sand beach, where we can eat in a cafe and swim. They also bought Santorini wine for 10 euros. The Cretans (as they call themselves) are not particularly interested in tourists. They do not invite anyone anywhere, they do not offer anything. If you want - come in, no - pass by, they don't care. They don't like to work. The bars of the hotel normally served only after you give them a couple of euros. On the day of departure, they took off our bracelets at 12.00, and gave us lunch at the hotel with a card. While we were sitting, waiting for the bus, they stopped pouring a cocktail for our friends (with bracelets) when they saw that they were treating us to them. When we arrived in Chania, they made us wait for an hour, did not open the passport control window. Chania Airport is similar to Pulkovo, just as old. They don't even have luggage packing. Suitcases for translucence from the reception desk need to be dragged by yourself. We will not go to Crete or this hotel again.
