More like a nice apartment than a hotel.

Who does the author recommend the hotel to?: For a relaxing holiday; For families with children
Domes of Elounda is not located in Elounda, but in a remote place a few kilometers from Elounda, between the villages of Tsifliki and Plaka, so it would be more accurate to call the hotel Domes of Tsifliki or Domes of Plaka. If you enter the GPS coordinates from the Booking. com order, then you will never find the Domes of Elounda, the true coordinates are different.
Main disadvantages: first - Domes of Elounda is located on the northern slope of a rather steep hill. In my opinion, the place for a five-star hotel is clearly unsuitable. Secondly, the hotel has practically no sandy beach, there is access to the water through a tunnel under the road - you can’t call a narrow strip of land with bushes a beach, it’s uncomfortable to sunbathe there - children run and play football with adults, kids huddle and cry (there are a lot of guests with children, moreover, the majority (~ 80%) are from Russia and Ukraine), those who do not live in the hotel freely enter the beach, and there are so few places. Still, the beach of a five-star hotel should be much more spacious. The only place where you can sunbathe relatively calmly is near a small communal pool, and there is enough space for about a tenth of the hotel guests. Thirdly, the territory is very densely built up, there is practically no free space.
The hotel itself consists of separate two-story bungalows with four rooms (two per floor). Rather, it's not even a hotel, but apartments. Half of the rooms have swimming pools, in the rest, for some reason, a jacuzzi on the balcony (in my opinion, a person in their right mind will never get into such a jacuzzi with dirty and terribly chlorinated water). Moreover, the second jacuzzi is located in the bathroom - obviously, the hotel was designed by some fan of the jacuzzi : ) At the same time, the bathroom is uncomfortable and poorly thought out.

Very steep paths to the numbers, which are impossible to pass in ladies shoes with heels. From below, they deliver to the rooms on electric cars, but you have to go down yourself or call an electric car, which is not very convenient. The view from different rooms is very unequal, there are rooms in general with a view of the wall of the neighboring bungalow a few meters away (the area is very closely built up). During the day, the rooms get very hot, so you have to sleep with air conditioning - you can’t open the balcony doors, there are a lot of mosquitoes (the hotel is located in an unfortunate place), and mosquito nets are not provided. For the same reason (there are a lot of insects in this place), it is uncomfortable to swim in the small pools near the bungalows - a large number of different insects always swim there, despite the round-the-clock (and noisy) filters.
On the plus side - a very beautiful view of the island of Spinalonga from some rooms, the rooms themselves are quite spacious (although the style is not for everyone - painted concrete walls, which is more suitable for a three-star hotel), good sea with a sandy bottom.
In general, if you have a choice - try to find another hotel, besides, Domes of Elounda is clearly not worth the money they ask for - for four thousand euros a week (~ € 4000) you can rent a villa with a pool on Lazurny coast, not apartments in Crete. How this hotel got a five-star rating is a mystery to me. This is rather a good apartment, but the unfortunate location, a very tiny beach across the road and very cramped buildings kill all the advantages of the rooms.
