Excursion "Delphi"
Hello everybody! We decided to share our impressions about the excursion to Delphi. We thought that we should go and see how rich Greece is. We are not big fans of "seal rest", as people say, but upon arrival, for the first time, you just need to lie on the beach and do nothing. The representative of the company Mouzenidis told in detail what we can see while being here. After some thought, we chose several trips, one of which was to Delphi. No wonder the ancient Greeks considered this place the center of the earth. Our road lay past the city of Patra, then we drove over the bridge, the bridge of Rio Antirio, as it is called. This is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Europe and one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. Such amazing views opened up to us from that bridge, charm. The bay is just a fairy tale! Already on the mainland of Greece, we moved further east along the bay and at the foot of Mount Parnassus we reached Delphi. A majestic place now, thanks to our wonderful tour guide, we imagined how it was then, even more majestic. We didn’t know that in addition to the Olympic Games, there were others, including the Pythian Games. They were founded in honor of the victory of the god Apollo over Python, an interesting myth! Among other things, it was there that the famous oracle sat and, drugged by many magical herbs, gave her predictions. One can imagine how great an authority she was, if even the greatest commanders for many centuries came to Delphi to hear what she would predict for them. The museum should be praised separately. Without him, the picture would be incomplete. A huge number of interesting exhibits, some of which can be looked at for a very long time. Personally, I liked the sphinxes most of all, unique works of art. On this trip with our wonderful storyteller, we received incomparable pleasure. Everything was so detailed, so interesting, we were almost like children. And Delphi is a legendary place that you should definitely see!
