Great holiday in Greece
The main motive to go on vacation to Greece is to see the country, its way of life, color, way of life, and just walk around the streets of Greek seaside cities, see people of a different culture, different people, different from us. And, of course, try the local cuisine, replete with vegetables and seafood, fruits and wine. And the child became interested in the origin of the world and the gods, the legends about the heroes of Hellas, which we, the parents, unconditionally supported, and devoted the entire period before the trip to all kinds of “methods” for studying this very interesting material. Everything was used - books, films, and the Internet.
About the hotel
The Elunda Aqva Sol hotel, which, in fact, was ordered by us, does not stand out with anything special, in my opinion, spoiled by Turkey. The food is modest, even monotonous, but of high quality, perhaps due to very tasty and environmentally friendly products (? ). Bungalow room with sea view but very basic and small. The territory of the hotel is not interesting, it seemed to me that there was nowhere to even walk. Go to the sea for about five minutes downhill, then climb accordingly. The beach is practically not equipped, there was not even a changing cabin, the sunbeds are old. And in general, I did not get the impression of comfort and some special atmosphere inherent in this place. The second time I will definitely not go to this hotel. C grade.
About excursions
Ardent opponents of any tourist bullshit, carefully referring to the choice of excursion programs, this time took two TEZ TUR excursions from a hotel guide (mainly because of the child and lack of time to prepare), and were satisfied, with some reservations... ( for four).
I highly recommend renting a car and driving on your own. This is what I liked very much. Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Plaka are very interesting, cozy towns.
The beaches in Greece are all municipal, you can stop at any.
On our own, we sailed on a boat to the island of Spinalonga, I was shocked by the history of this island and what I saw there! I recommend to everyone.
Cretan Cuisine
Separate song! Everything and everywhere, in any tavern, is very tasty, sincere and with its own twist! And, by the way, it's not expensive - you can afford both an octopus and a lobster... Five out of five!
About the tour operator
Although TEZ TUR brought us back home (at that time, thousands of tourists lived at airports), I’ll really think next time which one to turn to! And I will definitely take an interest in the opinion of Olga Gorkhiyan and the staff of the TA "LET'S GO! "
About the trip in general
You can and should go on vacation at least from across the sea, because it is amazing, but you should approach the choice of a hotel and excursion program more deliberately. I don’t give an overall assessment, but I don’t rule out a vacation in Greece next time!
