A week ago we returned from Crete, rested at the Sun Village hotel.
The hotel is excellent, for its category - more than. The most pleasant thing is the attitude of the hotel staff to the guests, and especially to the Russians. Neat spacious rooms, cleaning every day, always of high quality, regardless of whether you leave a tip or not. In general, Sun village can hardly be called a hotel, it consists of two-story buildings descending to the sea and is run by a family. After a few days, it seems that you have come to visit relatives, there is such a warm attitude towards tourists =).

On the first day, the location of the hotel is shocking - the fact is that it is far from all entertainment centers, the nearest city - Malia - 6 km, you can’t reach it on foot. In general, Sisi is a small village where you will not find clubs, but shops, cafes, restaurants, rental offices - as much as you like.

Near the territory of the hotel, horses and donkeys graze, very nice =)) But even the distance to the cities will not be particularly frightening if it is possible to rent a car. If not, you will have to take a taxi in the evening, which costs about 1 euro per km. (double rate at night), or by bus - they call in Sisi 2 times a day: at 9 am and at 4 pm, but they don’t follow the schedule, you can wait for the bus for 30-40 minutes. Also, every 30 minutes, buses run along the highway, which is about 10-15 minutes from the hotel.

In general, if you do not plan to take a car, but want to see more sights - still count on the fact that you will have to book excursions (from 35 euros). We rented a car and we had no problems getting around the island. It’s also surprising that everywhere in Crete the water is heated by the sun, so you don’t have to count on a warm shower in the morning and evening. Very refreshing in the heat =).
In general, when relaxing in this hotel, after a few hours all dissatisfaction disappears, if you had it at first: excellent attitude, excellent cuisine, including Greek (not all hotels have this). feta cheese, yogurt, salads, toast, cold cuts, cereals, jam, honey are always served for breakfast...for dinner, the choice is also wonderful. Of course, it cannot be compared with a Spanish or Italian buffet - the choice of dishes is less, but the quality of their food and the unique taste of Greek dishes captivate. The hotel always gives a choice of meat, fish dishes (different every day), side dishes, salads, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and everything is always fresh.

By the way, for some reason, this is not written anywhere in Moscow on websites, but their air conditioners are paid - about 5-6 euros per day. The sea is really nearby, our view from the room was just on it, it's about 200 meters to go to a small sandy beach.
The hotel also has its own small sandy beach, where there are sun loungers and you can sunbathe, but it is difficult to enter the sea, especially when there are waves, because the sand ends and large boulders begin.
In general, the impression is excellent - next time I will definitely go to the same hotel.

The only thing that may not really like it is young people who do not have the opportunity to rent a car or scooter and who do not want to spend money on a taxi - they will be bored. In other cases, you can safely go - you will not be disappointed. For those who like a quiet measured rest - the option is generally ideal.
