It does not look like typical Cretan hotels at all (characteristic thick white walls, low-rise houses). The Daios Cove hotel has its own bay - a large sandy beach, a huge territory - though there is no greenery at all, but this is a minus of all new hotels. The only plant that is abundant here are cacti. Very interesting: flat with large fruits on the tops. I liked the fact that this hotel is built in levels, or as they are called here, streets. From every street you can get either by funicular or by club car. Also a very interesting highlight in this hotel. I had a normal room with a sea view. Nice, spacious, clean. Good plumbing, and also modern equipment. They always replenished the mini-bar on time and simply put water in the room. As for food: breakfasts in the main restaurant are superb, the choice is huge. But I didn't really like the dinners in the same restaurant. Went there only once. After that I preferred to dine in a la carte. There was live music in the evenings at the main bar. Either a DJ came, or they played and sang very beautifully. Special theme: it's a spa! Massage is divine here. I've been to many places, but I've never seen a spa like this before. Everything is chic: cosmetics, here French; and atmosphere; and, of course, masters. The team of masseurs are great fellows. I'm coming here again this year. I hope this hotel will remain as luxurious and will continue to justify the title of "de luxe".

Because the villas have constantly heated pools, in May this is the most reliable option for families with children, there is definitely a guarantee that they will be able to swim. In the common pool and the sea, the water is cold, 19-20 degrees.
All villas are built very competently, no one sees each other, there is silence around and birds sing, the sun is all day on the side of the pool. Inside, everything is very thought out, comfortable, there is a bar (for a fee), a coffee machine, a kettle, tea, they bring water and various “complements”. Cleaning is carried out by a team, very quickly, they come when you say.
You can walk around the territory (from mountain to mountain; it’s real with a stroller), you can call a club car, you can move around the main building by elevator or small glass funiculars (sometimes you have to wait).
The beach can only be accessed by stairs, i. e. without a stroller. You have to wait for towels, the service on the beach is slow.
The place is very beautiful and calm, in the hotel half are families with children and pregnant women, half are elderly couples. The hotel managers are very friendly and helpful, many Russian-speaking staff. Arina worked with us, she always helped with everything: book restaurants, spas; everything you need in the room (they took a radio nanny), any questions!
For children: there are two children's pools in the common large pool; a very cool kids club (from 4 months for a fee, and from 4 years for free), you can take a babysitter. In restaurants, there are two types of children's chairs: everyone is given coasters for an adult chair (in my opinion, not very comfortable), you can ask for a familiar high chair, where the child sits at his own table (they are green there).
For us, the only negative in everything was the restaurants: food and service. It seems that they are not in this hotel at all Everything is very unorganized, there were never places in the general restaurant, all the tables are dirty, you won’t wait for the waiter, you have to ask 3 times, there is a queue to the restaurant. We personally didn't like the food. I read different reviews, I thought that everything is individual, but here we are very loyal, and even then we didn’t like it. The choice is very limited and monotonous, for seafood lovers everything is really sad! Almost all evenings we went to two other restaurants, where, on the menu, a discount at HB 20 Euros for an adult, 10 for a child. It is better there, but very slow service, hot food is brought in 1.5-2 hours, our children fell asleep in armchairs. There was almost no food for children: in the children's menu everything is the same as in the adult, plus spaghetti, chicken and fish (this is in restaurants with a surcharge); on the common table for children it’s not designed at all (since they came specially earlier, to the children’s table declared by them: there were three types of hot (navy-style pasta, katoshka and something else), and vegetables for salad). The procedure is this - you come with the child from 18.30, he eats, you sit nearby, everyone runs around, sets the tables for dinner, nothing is ready by 19, but adults begin to come, "children's" dishes are reversed and the rest, "adult" is added . Every day there is a different cuisine, but somehow we did not notice any difference, except for spiciness (if yesterday the beans were simple, today they are spicy), rice, potatoes or peppered or with lemon - the children did not eat. We ordered a burger with potatoes at the bar - children always like it, but I personally did not like it. Ordered pizza for the kids. From what I liked: a cheese plate (room service and at the Ocean restaurant), at the Ocean restaurant: tuna tartar, ice cream, everything is very tasty. Also find out when which evenings are in restaurants and book immediately (there is “buckwheat cuisine”, “lobster”, grill, etc. ). For breakfast every morning the same: eggs (five types), vegetables, sliced (as usual), fruit is not a great choice (sometimes there were only grapes and apples); in the restaurant for villas breakfast is even more meager. Although, it’s easier here - whoever is used to having breakfast - I had enough yogurt with fruit, but my husband didn’t even get up for breakfast. With nutrition - everything is relative, it depends on you!

During the first days there are special treatments that prepare the skin for tanning, then there is a radiance massage for tanned skin (good reviews), I personally recommend the stone massage. In the indoor pool with children, you can swim only from 14 to 15, but the temperature there is the same as in the open one.
Our recommendations for families with children in this hotel: there was not enough small inflatable pool (they didn’t find such a place anywhere), you can put a gate around a large private pool so as not to catch the baby all the time (it costs 70 Euro for the entire period).
And one more thing: there are no exchange offices and ATMs in the hotel (on May days in the city this is generally a problem, because they don’t work at all, and the rest of the days are up to 14 maximum), payment is only in Euro (except for the uvelirny - it’s more loyal there))), there is a small souvenir shop (only cash) and a good herb-oil shop (you can pay by card). If you need cash for a taxi, for example, at check-in, they can withdraw it from the card and give it out in cash. And one more thing - we ourselves went to Heraklion to the Knossos Palace and the Archaeological Museum - it would be more convenient upon arrival to immediately stay in the city, take a walk, and go to the hotel in the evening, otherwise you will have to go back and forth 4 times

We did as we were told and drove on, but with us there were tourists who were from the Minos Imperial Hotel, no one had any idea where they would take us, it's just awful, we spent exactly 1 hour on narrow mountain roads with a driver at this hotel, who constantly talked to someone on the phone and pulled the minibus. After this hotel, we got lost and began to call in at all turns, in general, we circled as soon as the driver could. Finally, all the tourists were taken away and we were left alone, because our hotel is the last one from the airport. Suddenly, to our surprise, the driver asked us if we spoke English, because he did not know where our hotel was and where to go. After numerous phone calls, we headed further down the road and after 30 minutes we saw our hotel in the distance. On the one hand, we were very happy, but on the other hand, we were so tired that nothing pleased us. We fell out of the bus, but the administrator and the guy who delivers the luggage immediately ran up to us, everything was prompt and fast, we were taken to the room. We took a standard room with a sea view, (they all have a sea view), there was nothing above the norm, you could see from all sides and they were not all warmed up, vacationers had problems with them, only throwing money away - 840 euros . We rested a little and went to dinner. We had breakfast and dinner, the food at the hotel is very high quality, everything was delicious, but the staff is very slow and there are few waiters for 3 huge restaurants who do not have time, at the end of our holiday there were 2-3 times more tourists and we already had dinner plates they even cleaned up after themselves. The hotel also has a tavern and 2 mini bars, which also serve delicious food. . The menu was varied, although the choice is not very large, but we were full, although the prices bite - 0.3 liters of beer costs 7 euros. This is in a nutshell about the food of the hotel. The next morning we examined the entire hotel, of course a very beautiful place, very calm, the sea view is simply gorgeous. The architecture of the hotel itself is beautiful, but there are many shortcomings that should not be in 5 * luxury hotels. The beach is not very large, semi-sandy, the entry into the sea is good, which is important for Greece, there are few sunbeds, you need to take it in the morning, preferably early. The sea was also not always calm, all the turbidity washed up on the shore and at that moment it was very dirty, although we were told that there would be no waves due to our own bay, this is not so, sometimes they could not even go swimming (for us it was very important because we are with a child). Of the 12 days the sea was calm only 2 days. On the territory of the hotel there is one large swimming pool, a very beautiful view of the sea from it, but the water in it is very cool. The rooms were cleaned very badly, the dust was practically not wiped and the floors were poorly washed, we can say that they didn’t wash it, the towels were changed every day, but tea, coffee, sugar were given only on the first day and they didn’t bring it anymore, on the water that was brought in the evening, also saved. There is practically no animation, even for adults. For a fee at dinner, you could listen to live music in one of the restaurants, and that's all. For children, there is nothing at all, except for baby carriages and there is a mini club, in which there is nothing else besides a TV with games, 1 hour stay in it costs 16 euros. Twice we went to the city by taxi, there and back 24 euros, by bus, which runs from the hotel is not very convenient. Some tourists rented a car - 35 euros per day. We had no problems with the reception, a very friendly Russian girl, Olga, worked there. Among the staff there are also Russians - Yuri and Thomas, with whom we communicated, work well, well done. Thanks to them! Yes, one more thing, but our child fell ill, we called a doctor through our insurance company, everything was very unorganized, after the visit the doctor never called us again and did not find out how the child was feeling, although there was a temperature of 39. In general, there were no extra movements. We flew through a Tez tour, a company that does not justify such costs, which I will write about later. The hotel has a SPA salon, which I visited at the end of the holiday, I did a full body scrub, I didn’t like it, because it should be a scrub, not relaxation for 30 euros. In general, probably everything about the hotel, at the moment I can give the hotel 4, given the quality food, but not 5, and even the suite, it’s not worth that kind of money in any case, although next year they want to make it even more expensive. Before you go to cock everything really, do not rush at the fact that it is new. The way back was already faster, but now we saw with our own eyes how our planes are being prepared for flight: we had a night flight at 23-15, we checked in, there were 30 minutes left before departure, and we still were not invited to board , then someone saw our plane, which had just arrived from Samara, we could not believe our eyes, because the flight was not transferred to us. They quickly adjusted the ladder, unloaded the luggage, then they began to refuel the plane and announced landing, they did not even examine the technical condition, and in the meantime our entire crew was busy purchasing goods in the duty-free shop. We all quickly boarded the plane, it was very hot and stuffy, the cabin was not cleaned, the flight attendants were very nervous and angry. In general, we took off at 23-25, now I understand why our planes sometimes do not reach their destination. IN GENERAL COMPANY TEZ TOUR WORKS FOR 2!! ! So I don’t feel like going to Crete anymore, I didn’t fall in love with it, you can go once, if you don’t feel sorry for the big money.
