Stayed at the Candia Hotel from March 25th to April 1st. The rooms are good, cozy, cleaned every day, if you don't forget to leave a sign on the door : ) The food is varied, everything is fresh and very tasty (it's a pity that the menu has not changed). The staff is attentive, friendly and fluent in English.

The location of the hotel is convenient: a calm, quiet area (at any time of the day there was no noise or any other problems); near the police station, shops, metro (you can walk without fear, everything is quiet and peaceful). When I'm next in Athens, I'll be happy to choose this hotel. Good combination of price and quality!

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while on a bus tour of Greece. Didn't like the hotel. The hotel was built in 1970. The hotel is very old, everything is shabby. The hotel is often packed with groups of tourists. The room has a dirty carpet, all the furniture is old, there is only 1 Russian business channel on TV. Table, chairs, ceiling - all half-broken. There is practically no soundproofing in the room - our room overlooked the highway, the balcony did not close well - therefore, the round-the-clock noise of cars was heard, the blankets in the room were prickly, like in trains, the air conditioner is very old, when you turn it on it constantly makes noise. The food is poor, there is practically no choice. Eggs, sausages, bread, butter, from fruit - canned peaches, there were never vegetables, cereal, coffee, tea, yupi. There is free internet in the lobby, but the computers are very old. The staff is not bad, everyone is polite, but they understand only English. There is a safe in the room. On the roof there is a small pool, very good, albeit small in size. If you go by metro, then the closest to this hotel is to get off at Metaxourghio Station and go to the hotel through the Police Station. Of the 40 people in our group, not one was satisfied.

Simple, small without bells and whistles, but cozy enough. I had a single, small, clean room. It has a large bed, a bathtub, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a mirror, an old hair dryer, but there was a mini-safe. Every day changed towels, bed linen - every 2-3 days. Breakfast - buffet, every day the same set of products on the table.

Breakfast - buffet, every day the same set of products on the table...
The only thing that upset me at first was the view from the window - there was a fire escape right in front of it. But, given that this is generally a feature of Athens in principle - narrow streets and many houses, then it's normal.
An ideal option to spend the night, wash, and during the day - walk around the city. The center can be reached on foot in 10-15 minutes, there is a metro station nearby.

The hotel is not located in the best area of Athens, but I was pleasantly pleased with good service (at the request to fix problems with the TV, they promised to send a master in 10 minutes, the master came in 5 minutes! ); friendly attitude of the staff; clean, albeit small rooms; daily cleaning of rooms, change of towels; white linen; location 2-3 minutes walk from the metro station; the presence of an intercity telephone near the entrance to the hotel.

Minus point only for the location of the hotel near Omonia Square and the surrounding areas, which after 10 pm, as the Greeks themselves warn, it is better not to walk alone with money. The breakfast is not rich in variety, but you don't leave the restaurant hungry.
