Pros and cons of holidays in Georgia
Who has been vacationing in Georgia lately? In a short period of time, this topic came up very often, they say that it is very good there now. But all the information is NOT first hand, it is impossible to find out the details. And among the general delight, the opinion slipped that it was like in Soviet times. For myself, I cannot combine the delight and Soviet times. Who was, what did you like and what did you not like?

Elenka08, I had a rest in Georgia in 2011 (not the freshest impressions, but still :)
Mountain Georgia - for skiers - good slopes, good infrastructure (not Bukovel, but still), good hotels (not European, but not Soviet either).
Tbilisi is a beautiful city, interesting ... with its own original culture, therefore it is unique.
The country as a whole is still poor (forgive me, those whom I can offend, I didn’t want to), but very interesting. Magnificent cuisine, fabulous landscapes, hospitable people - IMHO, it's worth visiting, and right now, while Georgia is real and sincere ... and affordable in terms of finances. To be honest, in 5 years everything will be much more expensive if tourism develops at the same pace.
Have a nice rest!
P.S. Friends rested for a week in May - they traveled around the country, they were very pleased.

Elenka go to my profile and read reviews about Tbilisi (2013) and Batumi (2012)
I love Georgia. it's gorgeous there. Now my girlfriend went there for 3 months. she and her boyfriend bought an apartment there last year. now I can fly to visit and it's super.
I recommend Batumi for rest. there is absolutely nothing left of the Soviet Union - the city is a fairy tale.
food and wine is just heaven. people are friendly and responsive.

I was a month ago with my wife, excellent and not expensive. Were on the route-Kutaisi-Batumi-Tbilisi-Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Well, the surroundings of these cities.
There will be more specific questions, I will answer.

Specific questions) - Regarding *inexpensive*, where did you live? the level of hotels and food? did you eat at the hotel or in city cafes? What is the hotel price per night per person? And what can you do there in the evening, when there is nothing to do on the beach? Also, is it safe? Well, let's say, in Batumi, so that you do not describe all the cities

they found a league on the spot, they will pounce there, as in the Crimea. Prices are around 30-50 GEL.
The level of hotels is from the barn to the Sheraton, Radisson and Kempinski. Hawali in local cafes: khinkali ~ 50-70 tetri / piece. The rest of the dishes in the region of 5 lari, get drunk, do nothing for 20 lari-2 people.
As for the evenings, the Crimean embankments are shit compared to Batumi! there are lakes nearby, a Ferris wheel (2 liters), a zoo 1 lar, large, etc.
Also drive to the bot. garden and Mtirala national park for sure!

currency converter to the rescue. 1 lar-5 UAH.
the apartment, of course, we didn’t go on a seal vacation. The calculation for the apartment, not people.

Hello! I decided to share information with those who want to relax near the sea in Georgia.
I did not use the services of travel companies. She booked the flight. I flew with UIA, I bought it shortly before the trip, so it was not cheap, 4 thousand hryvnias. But travel is the biggest expense on a trip.
I advise you not to book accommodation in advance if you want to rent from the owners in the house. They usually don't advertise online. You can easily negotiate with the owners on the spot. We have accommodation at 30 GEL for two / day.
I rested with my mother, for us the most important thing was the sea and nature. Therefore, we decided to stop not in Batumi, but on Cape Verde (Mtsvane Kontskhni, not far from Batumi, where the botanical garden is). We lived with wonderful hosts on Magnolia Street. This is from the stop (there is a beach) to go up for 15-20 minutes. There are houses and lower, the price there is a little more and there is no such beautiful view as at the top. Almost every day we went to the Botanical Garden (it also has access to the sea and the beach). We also went to Batumi four times. Minibus 31 runs from Cape Verde to the center of Batumi, it costs 60 tetri (approximately 4 UAH). It takes about 20 minutes to drive. Food was bought in Makhinjauri (this is a village between Batumi and Cape Verde).
