We were traveling without prior booking, already from Kutaisi (the day before Gudauri) they called OZON, widely known in narrow circles))))) and Stepan and we were given a room.
The hotel is located in Lower Gudauri, which means that you need to go to the ski lifts. The hotel car takes you centrally in the morning to the gondola for 2 GEL per person.
A very cozy and spacious lounge bar with a fireplace, in which people gather in the evenings, from time to time the many-sided (administrator, instructor, etc. ) Stepan plays the piano or sings to the guitar. There are backgammon and chess. My wife and I played backgammon there.
The dining room is bright and comfortable. The food is very good. Large portions - in principle, you can live without a snack on the mountain at lunchtime. The kitchen is homemade, with fiction and a slight Georgian accent. For breakfast, in addition to the standard buffet, a hot main course is served. Dinner, in addition to soup and the main course, also consists of an appetizer-salad and fruit. The menu hasn't changed in a week.
By the way, the kitchen is very clean.
The staff is very friendly and readily responds to the most exotic requests.
Very decent internet speed.
There are no restrictions on bringing and drinking your own drinks and snacks both in the dining room and in the lobby.
The driver Herman (aka Captain) can provide promotional ski passes with a 33% discount. For a fee, he took us down the mountain (my wife got tired, it was hard for her to return on skis). The same Herman provided equipment rental.
Separately, about Stepan as an instructor. Before that, I took instructors in Dragobrat for my son and wife, and I myself peeped from the outside. In short - if you come to Stepan to put someone on skis, or correct your original skiing technique of a talented self-taught person (I'm hinting at myself))))) then you will save a lot of money and you will get much more pleasure from skiing, you will ride without fear on more difficult tracks.
Only if this factor is critical for you, agree with it in advance.
The disadvantages of the hotel, as I understand it, are common to all Gudauri hotels - the rooms are small, with basic amenities, the furniture and renovation are very simple, and also very tired. But the room was warm, there was always hot water, the mattresses were even, we slept well.
It turned out that in order for the room to be cleaned and replenished with soap and toiletry, it is necessary to hand over the key to the room at the reception.
An ideal hotel for a budget holiday with a big cheerful company in Gudauri.
A capricious client has the opportunity to stay in glamorous hotels such as Marco Polo or Carpe Diem, but it will be 3-4 times more expensive.

We went, having read not the best reviews, with a slight fright. In reality, everything turned out quite the opposite: 1. The rooms are neat and clean. For three stars is enough. We went, having read not the best reviews, with a slight fright. In reality, everything turned out quite the opposite:
1. The rooms are neat and clean. For three stars is enough. The bathroom is really small, but again: there is a shower (and you can take it not only while sitting on the toilet : ), there was always hot water. Of our two rooms, one had a TV. The view from the window is excellent.
2. They cook well. The cuisine is not national, but not like in the dining room. In principle, you can eat only there and not starve, and if you still have a bite to eat on the slope, it’s generally hard to eat everything. But who cares : )
3. You have to go to the hill. The driver German (by the way, a wonderful person who, for a fairly small fee, can take you around the whole district) takes everyone in the mountains in the morning. We were immediately warned that it was free. But !!! : firstly, it’s not expensive, and secondly, at the end of the holiday they didn’t take anything (and we forgot and the owners didn’t intelligently remind : ). It is easy to get back by going down the hill and walking no more than 50 meters.
4. And last but not least: the attendants. Everyone from the hostess to the cook is very good kind people who will always suggest a simple way out on any issue in local realities, help in any problem and just can keep up a pleasant conversation over cognac, wine and, for example, a guitar. People from other places really come to the hotel lobby just to "sit". Barbecue is being prepared in the fireplace : ). In general - real Georgian hospitality.
I will definitely come back again.

vacationed in Ozone in February 2011. The hotel is so-so. The rooms are old, bathrooms are very "combined", with poor plumbing. For 6 days of stay - the room was never cleaned, and this was not messed up. You need to take shampoo, soap, etc. with you, since everything you need was available only on the first day.

The service staff arranges a drinking bout in the lobby almost every night at night - you didn’t have to sleep in the hotel until 3-4 at night. The cost of the hotel in 120 dollars for a 2-bed room is not justified. Nearby is the Panorama Hotel ($115), which is three heads taller than Ozone. On the positive side, good food, especially dinner, should be noted. The chefs are on point and know their stuff. The last joke - when we left the hotel, Herman (the driver) "ripped off" from us (as I understand it on the sly from the hostess Manana) 24 GEL for the services of delivering skiers to the ski lift. The money is small, but in the soul shat

Was in Ozone in the season NG 2010-2011 Accommodation is very average, linen is changed only when you say so, rooms are not cleaned every day. Food - day after day is not necessary - sometimes there are very tasty (although usually peppered) dishes, sometimes - public catering in its worst manifestation, it is felt that they are trying to save on food.

The honesty of the management is also very doubtful - I booked a hotel for New Year 2011-2012, transferred the full prepayment, but could not come. As of today (May 31.2012), the money has not been returned, although the management of the hotel (Manana) promised to do this repeatedly.
I do not recommend this hotel - in Gudauri there are many more modern hotels, the price of which is almost identical, but at the same time the comfort and attitude towards the client is much better.

We were there recently, the hotel is terrible. For that kind of money in Austria, we lived much more comfortably. The furniture is terrible, there are sleepless nights on the beds, even fatigue after a gurney did not help to fall asleep. After these mattresses, my back hurt in the morning. A toilet with a bath combined so that you can take a shower without getting up from the toilet.

The furniture is terrible, there are sleepless nights on the beds, even fatigue after a gurney did not help to fall asleep. After these mattresses, my back hurt in the morning. A toilet with a bath combined so that you can take a shower without getting up from the toilet. It stank of kitchen and fried food all the time in the room, even on the 3rd floor. The food was also terrible, I never ate there at all, although for a fee they could cook especially for us. Products are clearly all frozen, no Georgian flavor. It reminded me of a cheap canteen at school. All harmful and tasteless. There is no TV in the room, it stands alone downstairs, in the evenings there they arrange a katrusin cinema for children, cartoons, and behind the bar, half a meter from the children, men drink and smoke. A sauna and a transfer to the ski lifts cost some money, although in other hotels hospitable hosts give you a lift for free. Well, in general, horror horror horror, all I can say about this hotel.

The hotel was booked via the Internet, it was a little dumb to send an advance payment to another country, but there were no problems. I paid through PrivatMoney. When settling there was a little confusion with the rooms, but since they gave us a better room than we booked, we had no questions. Hot water was ok.

Hot water was ok. Cons of the room - single beds moved together instead of a normal double, the room itself was darkish and the bathroom was so shabby with life. But in general, it's ok.
They fed well. True, there were only a couple of dishes of national cuisine in a week. But the breakfast was definitely better than this year on Dragobrat.
Youth this hotel can not be called, for me it was rather a minus.
You can take a bus to the ski lift for $ 1, you can also go down to the hotel on skis, if there is enough snow. Ski passes - $10 per day. lifts - Doppelmeier chairs, 3 lines of chairs up to a height of 3000, no queues. You can eat on the mountain for $20-30, and if you go down to Gendelyk away from the ski lift, then for $15 you can eat real Georgian cuisine to the fullest.
The people are friendly, the rest and skiing came out good.
Only one unpleasant moment can be remembered now (if there was something else, it was erased from memory in a year, which means it was not very important). When paying for a room, the hotel administrator began to tinker with courses. And for a room costing 180 GEL per day (according to the price list sent in the mail), it was proposed to pay 80 euros. Thus, a day cost 10 euros more. We did not carry a printed price list with us, so it was hard to defend our position. At dinner, I talked with another couple - they had the same situation.
Conclusion - take all the papers with you, do not be too lazy to clarify all the points on housing before the trip and upon settlement.
