August 14 we leave for Batumi. Close, only 60 km. When they entered Batumi, they groaned and gasped in much the same way as when they had just entered Georgia. The architectural structures amazed us, as they say, to the depths! Very beautiful and modern center, embankment. Well, I will not describe, there is also a lot of this on the Internet. We ordered an apartment in Batumi in advance, via the Internet. I did this: I wrote “Batumi” on Facebook in the search, people jumped out, mostly renting out housing, and then sent them a message, like there are so many of us, then we will, what options do you have? And people responded, offered. I did the same in Odnoklassniki. Also searched on www. airbnb. ru and Booking. I did this: I write down the number on the phone, and if after that it appears in Viber, then naturally that person also has Viber (? ), And after that he called or sent a message for free. We chose a 5-room apartment in a 9-storey building on the 6th floor. The apartment is simple, but also with everything you need (air conditioner, washing machine, hot water, kitchen, stove, wifi). The cost is $50 per night for all of us. It is located on Khimshiashvili Street, near the water park, 50 meters from the sea - just cross the road. The beach in Batumi is pebbly, sometimes sandy, stretches along the entire city, wide, there are a lot of places, so it seems that there are few people on the beach. During the 6 days that we were here, the water was constantly muddy. I don't know if this is always the case. If you want to buy spices, fresh trout, meat, homemade wine, and food in general, go to the food market. Located in the cable car area. Address: st. Mayakovsky and st. Plekhanov. There is a bus 1a, and a lot of minibuses.
Another market in Batumi is the famous Hopa. It is located in the city center, between David Agmashenebeli, Galaktion Tabidze and Rurua streets. This is a clothing market. Here are inexpensive souvenirs, Turkish things, well, Chinese, as well as without them. For Ukrainians, everything is somehow a little expensive, but if our rate had not increased by 3 times in 1 year, everything would have been VERY cheap. Near us, just a couple of kilometers from the airport, the runway. And the beach. You swim in the sea and planes land and take off above you. An exciting spectacle. We went specially to be photographed against the background of flying planes. Many people come here to look at it, take pictures with their phones. We wanted to go to Turkey (the border is 15-20 km from Batumi), but we were scared that we could supposedly stand at the border for a long time, and there wasn’t much time, in general, we didn’t go.
To enter Turkey, Ukrainians also do not need visas, only a passport with children glued in. We didn’t go to Turkey, but we went to the border Sarpi, swam in the clear sea (they write the truth), jumped into the sea from the mountain, swam in a mask / snorkel. We collected a few rapans (cooked, ate), but there are few mussels, and we are big fans of them. Most of the mussels we tore in Bulgaria in Sveti Vlas on the rocks behind the marina. And of course, Adjarian khachapuri, which you should try exclusively in Adjara, for example, in Batumi. We have heard about the Retro cafe, where they supposedly prepare the most delicious khachapuri. We found this cafe, just went to look at the situation. We didn’t like it, indifferent waiters, it was smoky and somehow everything was “retro”. But I won’t argue with anyone, maybe it’s actually delicious there.
We started asking local Georgians where to try khachapuri, and all as one advised the Adzharuli Sakhli restaurant, on Sherif Khamshiashvili Street, 10, (near the tower, and near the lake). And we were not mistaken, everything was very tasty! For those who want to drink Georgian wine: we have tried a lot. The average cost of a bottle of mediocre wine is 10 GEL (100 UAH). Can be found for 6-7. Kindzmarauli in stores 15-25 lari, Khvanchkara 30-50. On the market, draft Saperavi 5 lari 1 liter, but we found the best option in the company store "Old House of Wine" st.
