I want to share with users the unpleasant experience of booking hotels, bypassing specialized platforms.
So, my family and I (2 parents + 2 children) decided to spend a vacation from 06/28/19 to 07/06/19 in Batumi. For what previously found a variant of accommodation for 4 people. Our choice fell on the apartments "Mentol Residence at Sea Resort" (owner Ariy Romanov). When we made an order for apartments on Booking. com, the owner of the apartment immediately informed us that we needed to pay a 30% deposit within 24 hours. We decided not to rush and canceled the booking.
After that, the owner of "Mentol Residence at Sea Resort" contacted us directly (via Viber) and offered a 20% discount on the declared cost when booking a hotel directly.
We decided to agree and made an advance payment to the card, indicated by the owner Ariy Romanov, in the amount of 62 dollars. And, accordingly, we began to prepare for the trip.

Upon arrival at the destination, it turned out that the owner himself does not live in Georgia, and the manager is responsible for the accommodation of the guests. But when we got to our apartments, we found the following:
Firstly, the room smelled terribly of sewage, and since the apartment is a studio, the smell is all over the apartment.
Secondly, instead of a 4-bed room declared on the website, in fact there was a triple room (double bed and a sofa 0.9 m wide);
Thirdly, when trying to contact the owner to resolve the issue (we wanted to ask for at least a cot), he did not answer, and later wrote that he was on the road and could not speak.
Yes, his motives were clear. We drove in late at night, it was raining outside, we were tired and it was already hard to go to another place (they say, nothing will remain anyway). But we are lucky and
the person who gave us a lift suggested a good accommodation option (great 4-bed room for the same money! ).
The next day, when trying to contact A. Romanov via viber, he constantly dropped, and then wrote that he really had a sofa 90 cm wide, but he did not expect that our children were already big (although we stated the age of the children when booking) .
Think about it - this is the answer of a person who rents out housing in Batumi, and who on all sites indicates that his rooms are 4-bed!
After that, the owner of "Mentol Residence at Sea Resort" added us to the black list and stopped contacting us, essentially fraudulently embezzling our money.
We wrote about the situation to the Booking. com administration, but since the order was made without their participation, they refused to assist us.
We categorically do not recommend visitors to contact this owner, and we consider all reviews about the quality of his apartments to be custom-made, since his apartments already have rather tight (with stains) bed linen, outdated furniture, an unpleasant smell and old repairs that do not correspond to the attached photo . But most importantly, he does not live in Batumi, which makes the process of communication difficult.
