I was in this hotel at the end of August - I went to study. Very convenient location, just 5 minutes by taxi from the station. I lived in a separate building (executive suit Peters), a large room with 2 beds and a large bathroom. The only negative is that the suites are adjacent (there is even an adjacent door between the rooms), so if the neighbors are watching TV loudly, you can hear decently.

I lived in a separate building (executive suit Peters), a large room with 2 beds and a large bathroom. The only negative is that the suites are adjacent (there is even an adjacent door between the rooms), so if the neighbors are watching TV loudly, you can hear decently. But next to the TV there is a warning, and I had no neighbors either. The room has its own access to the garden.
Room rate £.140/night.
The breakfast is very good, there is hot food, pastries, a large selection of cereals, tea and coffee, juice, boiled eggs or made toast to order.
You can order a taxi at the reception - better in about half an hour.
All stores, mainly near the station in the Howards shopping center, are open until 17-30 (including the Marks and Spencer supermarket), except for the John Lewis shopping center (opposite Howards) - until 20-00.
The station has a very good pizzeria ASK. It's always crowded there in the evenings.
It is very convenient to get from Welwyn by high-speed train to King's Cross in London (about 30 minutes journey - ticket 9.50 - one way).
