The schedule of Kyiv-London-Kyiv flights of Wizz Air airlines, as well as skyrocketing prices for hotels in London, made us look at "airport" hotels. Hotels near airports always offer significantly cheaper rooms than similar hotels in the city. Hampton by Hilton is our first such experience and it turned out to be positive.
The hotel is very well located - the bus stop from the airport is right in front of the entrance to the hotel, on the back of it - train station. e. Luton Airport Parkway station. The fare from the a / p by bus is 1.30 pounds, a taxi is 3.50 - 6 pounds, the journey takes 7-10 minutes. The train goes to the center of London in 25 minutes (express) or 50 (regular), the cost of a round-trip ticket is 9.40 pounds.
At the entrance to the station there is a ticket machine that accepts both cards and banknotes (this is important! There are machines where you can only pay by card).
The hotel itself is clean, well maintained, the rooms are medium in size, modern and cosy. LCD TV, radio/alarm clock, tea/coffee making facilities, ironing equipment in closet, hair dryer. I liked the bathroom - a spacious shower, all the plumbing is new Grohe and Villeroy & Bosch, towels and linen - no complaints. Soap, shampoo, gel, conditioner, hand cream can not be taken with you - everything is there and of good quality.
We were afraid that the train and planes would interfere, but this did not happen - we heard just a couple of times and not very loudly, although our windows looked out just on the train. d. way.
Air conditioning and ventilation in the room work perfectly, the air is not too dry. The windows are equipped with light and noise protection shutters.
The room rate includes breakfast.
The restaurant offers several hot dishes - scrambled eggs, sausages, beans in tomato, mushrooms, as well as pastries, toasts, jams, yoghurts, fruits. Instead of muesli - "fashionable" granola. The machines make decent coffee.
An interesting remark was read in the advertising booklet lying in the room. The bottom line is: "We do everything to make you satisfied. If you need something, contact any staff member. If you are not satisfied, you can not pay for the room"! : )
The center of Luton can be reached by bus, or you can walk - 20 minutes. Fans of pubs and clubs will be happy to be there, having arrived on Friday evening : ), how Wizz Air flies! Fun and noisy, and youthful - the Luton University quarter adjoins the center: probably all tourists know how British students relax : ) Also in the center there is a large Luton Mall, the list of shops is almost like on Oxford Street.
In general, we were satisfied with the choice of the hotel, the road for half an hour in the morning and evening to London and back was not very annoying.
Z. Y. There are about a dozen airport hotels in Luton, and in my opinion, the Hampton has the best location of all.
