Stayed at this hotel in the second half of March this year. The hotel is modest, quite acceptable: both in terms of price and quality and location. Not far from it is the local bus station. The hotel is comfortable enough. There is free internet (WI-FI) in the lobby. The service staff was - mostly Polish. Everything is at a normal level.

The tag to the room key smiled - non-standard, large (rather larger than usual) size. With a ruler good, in height.
I will note the moment of anxiety in the morning - by albatrosses: they woke up with their own: loud, constant and rather nasty scream / yell.
In general: both the hotel and Edinburgh itself left a very positive impression!

So it blew in the spring, not far off the stupid, but beloved by compatriots holiday - March 8! And as it turned out, Scotland is the most beautiful place in the world to meet spring and this Holiday! No one in the world understands women better than Scottish men - because they also wear skirts! This conclusion, in the form of an unshakable axiom, settled in my head as soon as I set foot on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

How courageous they are - these men in plaid skirts, it is a pity that they did not meet on the streets very often. But just in case, my husband held my hand tightly all the time (apparently, he didn’t like something in my reaction to the sparkling male knees! ). To try to challenge my conclusion, you need to at least go there. And it turned out to be very easy to do this with an English visa. Tickets with transfers in Amsterdam were bought on the KLM website a week before departure, the schedule and connections are very convenient, prices are pleasing - from 14.100 rubles per person round-trip, the plane arrives and departs from the same terminal in Amsterdam. On the booking website. com a month before the trip at a really ridiculous price, a twin room was booked in a very simple 3 * The Osbourne Hotel, namely for three nights 133 pounds with breakfast. I read a lot of bad reviews about this hotel, but its location and price determined my choice, which I did not regret. The hotel itself is located on a busy street very close to the train station and even closer to the bus station, which is conducive to independent trips on these modes of transport around the area. The room turned out to be clean, of a normal size, obviously not so long ago after repair, the plumbing was in perfect order, there were two comfortable beds, two armchairs, a chest of drawers, bedside tables, a wardrobe, a TV, an electric kettle, cups and bags of tea and coffee, cream, sugar. There was no safe, hair dryer, and adapters for outlets. I bought the adapter myself at the station for 3.5 pounds. The hotel staff speaks only English, the receptionists were not particularly welcoming, the check-in was fast, and even an hour before the check-in. I showed a printout of the reservation, paid in cash 133 pounds, signed in the guest log myself and received the key to room 505. They didn’t give me any receipt or receipt for payment, and we went on our own along the tangled corridors to look for our number and, following the signs, found it. On the way we passed the breakfast room, for the third time we got our bearings and then walked to the room without any problems. One of the administrators was very friendly and spoke a little Russian. I did not see the maids at all, but the room was well cleaned and two towels were changed for each daily. Of the bathroom accessories, there was only a soap and shampoo dispenser mounted above the sink. Standing in the bathroom, it’s impossible to reach it with your hands, but I had a bar of soap with me, and I put it next to the shower. There are again two separate taps above the sink, and in hot water - boiling water, but the shower worked perfectly. The downside of the room was its window - a small one with double curtains and looking straight down to ground level into a tiny nook with a fence. Grass, bushes grew on the ground and all sorts of muck lay around. . However, I didn’t need to look out the window, I sometimes only opened it to ventilate it, since it was a little hot in the room and I even completely disconnected the battery. Breakfast at the hotel on weekdays from 7.30, on weekends from 8.00, milk, cereals, butter, juices, coffee, tea in the hall. Waitress girls bring "English" or "Scottish" breakfasts to order, as well as toasted bread. I got the Scotch, which consisted of a terrible sausage, fried bacon, a baked half tomato, a potato pancake, 1 egg scrambled eggs and beans in a tomato. There is it was quite possible, but greasy. My husband and I really liked the city of Edinburgh, everything in it is like people's, and the people themselves, and the architecture, and the shops, and the prices in them. I highly recommend! At the same time, one day we took the train to Stirling Castle, and then to Glasgow. I liked it there and there too. At the station in Edinburgh, and then in other places, contacting the tourist information center, they found that its employees speak only English, this puzzled me, since I was used to expressing myself in French. But even these difficulties were overcome, in some historical places there are audio guides even in Russian. In Edinburgh itself, to see everything and visit shops, you need to stay at least three days. We loved Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Getting around the city is very easy on buses, the price of a day pass is 3 pounds, a single ticket is 1.20 from the driver, 1.10 at the machine at the bus stop, but in both cases you need to have money without change. At stops there are electronic displays indicating the time before the arrival of the bus of each route. There are a lot of shops in Edinburgh, but there is simply no such crowd as in London. We also traveled by train to St. Andrews, Dundee and Perth. It's nice, but nothing particularly outstanding. I regret that we did not take an excursion to Iverness, as we were simply too late to order. She leaves at 7.45 am, visits Loch Ness, Stirling, Blair and other castles, costs only 38 pounds per person, is conducted in English. The hotel in terms of price-quality ratio deserves 5 points. According to the actual service offered, this is a 2.5 * hotel, the rating of the hotel and its staff is 4 points. I will answer questions.
