I would like to start by thanking the wonderful people - the owners of this guest house, who made our stay in Edinburgh pleasant, interesting and comfortable. Thank you Gary and Lizzy!

A few years ago, while choosing a hotel in Edinburgh, we came across reviews of Kingsway Guest House with a completely unrealistic rating - either 9.5, or 9.8! We decided to get a new experience (before that we preferred only hotels) and booked a room. Our expectations were justified.

The guest house is located in a Victorian mansion, has three floors, rooms for guests are located on the second and third. There are different rooms, for a different number of residents, and differing in amenities and prices.

When booking, you need to be careful - the wording for our person is not quite familiar: there are en-suite showers, but there is a next door, in the first case, the shower is right in the room, in the second - you have to leave the room to get into the shower (but it this personal - only for a specific number).
The rooms are small, very clean and comfortable. Furniture, textiles, accessories - everything is designed in the traditional British style. A very interesting reproduction hung in our room, it interested me so much that I started to “google” the name of the artist, and this is how my acquaintance with now one of my favorite authors, the Scottish artist Jack Vettriano, began.

Heating in the rooms can be regulated independently - radiators with regulators in each room. The showers are clean, there are no problems with water, except for two unusual taps on the washbasin. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and Scottish biscuits.
The ground floor houses the hosts' quarters and the living-dining room where breakfast is served. Juices, jams, tea, muesli are standard, you need to order hot Lizzy the day before. She gives a card where you can mark dishes from several options, including the legendary Scottish haggis. Tasty!
The location is not very central, from the Royal Mile and Waverley station - about 20-30 minutes on foot, by bus - 5 minutes. The area is very quiet, all built up with Victorian mansions, most of which are guesthouses. And the ratings are very good not only for Kingsway Guest House! Taxi to the station cost 7.5 pounds.
The hosts are surprisingly warm and hospitable people, in each room there is a memo compiled by them, what is worth seeing in Edinburgh, what excursions are the most interesting, where to eat, which pub to go to. In addition, they always asked if they needed help or advice.
At the request of tourists, they can help rent a car, book excursions or tell you how to travel around Scotland.

I will gladly visit them again and recommend to all my friends.

Z. Y. Kingsway Guest House position themselves as an eco-hotel, i. e. they ask not to pour water in vain and not to turn on the heating beyond what is necessary, and also as a gay friendly.

I am writing so that people who are not satisfied with this or annoying can choose another location for themselves.
