Seven happy days in France!!!
I want to tell you how in March 2011 we had a great rest near Paris in the city of Gisors. My husband and I chose a hotel, a tour operator for a long time, and in the end we decided to go on our own. In fact, it turned out much cheaper and more interesting.
We lived in the old count's mansion Le Prieure on the 3rd floor. Although the owner assigned 3 ***, the living conditions were much better than expected! The room had antique furniture, a fireplace and all necessary amenities. There was a beautiful view of the city from the window. The mansion itself is very cozy, there is a chic cigar room. The hosts are very friendly people, they created a friendly and hospitable environment for us. We were fed very well, we did not go hungry. All meals were by candlelight! Barbecue was made on the territory of the mansion more than once, and the owners generously treated us to French wine (for free! ). Every day we were taken to Paris. There we visited museums, parks, rode along the Seine, visited the Eiffel Tower, Disneyland, and just walked. Where we just were not (there were even on the English Channel)! Thus, we not only saw Paris, but also visited its environs!
Pleasantly surprised by the city of Gisors. I didn’t think that apart from Paris, I could like something else... A city with a rich history, small, clean. There are no new buildings, everything is so beautiful, old! Despite this, it has everything: shops, parks, cinemas, discos, horse riding, flying club, golf club, outlet. Nearby there is a Russian Orthodox monastery. It was interesting to wander through the underground passages of the 12th century fortress in Gisors (I found a video on this topic on the Internet).
So, our trip was a success! For 65 euros per day (per person) we got much more than we expected!! ! Thanks to our French, now friends!! !
