Friends recommended the hotel. We were going to travel a lot, so we needed a room to roll the dice, have breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. Settled on the 7th floor with windows to the street. Of the pluses of the room - a huge balcony larger than the room. There are no more pluses. The air conditioner is central and the air cools minimally, with an open balcony - the noise does not let you sleep.

Go down and up the elevator during rush hour - waiting time is 15-20 minutes. The contingent is the elderly and couples with small children. Cleaning is quite, changed linen twice, towels every day. We didn’t use the pool and didn’t go to the animation, because in Spain there is something to do without it. The food is of a good standard. There is a themed dinner table every day - Catalan, French, Mediterranean, etc. kitchen. For breakfast in the range of non-alcoholic champagne (so it seemed). Drinks at dinner are chargeable. In principle, it is quite tolerable for the headquarters, but next time we will rent an apartment.

Best mediterraneo, Salou watched as part of a promotional tour with colleagues. Not renovated from Bestov. They promise within 2 years. Close to everything, 20 minutes walk to the beach. The disco Bocha is nearby, but it is open on weekends. The lobby is clean, spacious and smells good. There is a souvenir shop.

Stayed at the Best Mediterraneo 3 * hotel in the second half of April. Initially, the choice was Acqua 4 * (Salou) closer to the beach, a quiet area, but the tour operator (John Up) did not confirm the reservation and offered this hotel as an alternative. Price 440 euros for 7 nights. The check-in took 5 minutes, everyone understands Russian (because it is important for them to understand the tourist), no problem.

I paid a tourist tax of 1.5 euros (at check-in), received a WI-FI password and room keys. Number 226 faced the street. The room is very noisy even with the balcony closed. Constantly passing buses "downhill" complemented this noise. From 7 am to 6 pm, the kitchen hood was turned on and the noise was heard in the room (as if there was a railway road nearby).
One more feature. The Best Mediterraneo 3 * hotel participates in the social program, so 99% of vacationers are Spanish pensioners.
The elevator is almost always busy, because pensioners are quite mobile) Pensioners are very good and fun there. In the evenings for them - animation and dancing (from 21 to 23) on the 1st floor.
The pool is cold, unheated and no one swam in it. It was not possible to sleep on a sun lounger near the pool after dinner, because there were pensioners talking around (men have "creaking" voices, so you won't fall asleep).
To the beach go 15 minutes uphill, then downhill. To the city beach - 20 min.
The food at the hotel is ordinary - breakfast is poor, although in principle there is everything to eat, tea, coffee, juice. Dinner is more intense, once they gave cheese and mussels. The fish was fried every day. Drinks are not included for dinner. If necessary, water, beer and wine can be bought for a fee. They offer wine for 8 euros a bottle, while its cost in a supermarket is 1.5 euros).
Opposite the hotel there is a GD DUSA supermarket (blue sign). Prices are lower than in SPAR supermarkets, Michelangelo). Tested on different products (pack of 150g ham/cheese - 1 euro, Astella beer - 0.86 euro, red wine - 2-3 euro). In LIDL, prices are even lower, but it is on the opposite side of Salou, conveniently accessible by bike (rental 5 euros for 2 hours).
Traveled to Barcelona and Tarragona.
I went on a tour to Barcelona. The cost of a sightseeing tour with a guide, including travel, is 25 euros. We left at 9 am and returned at 7 pm.
It is more convenient to get to Tarragona by bus (fare is 2.95 euros one way). You can pay directly to the driver. Stop next to the hotel. On the train, the ticket price is 2.85 euros, the railway station is located in another part of the city, it takes 40 minutes to walk. At the box office, you need to say: "un boleto to Barcelona" to buy 1 ticket to Barcelona).
The hotel can be suitable for people of retirement age, provided the rooms are "by the pool".

4. Located on the very edge of Salou, next to three beaches. We only went to Llarga, because. to the rest there are very steep descents (and, accordingly, ascents).
5. Cleaned well, towels changed every day, bed linen every three days. There are a lot of bath accessories, replenished every day.
6. At the reception, almost everyone speaks Russian, they answer all questions and are very friendly, always ready to help.
7. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants around, shops and shops for every taste. There is a BUS PLANA stop nearby, with a T-10 card in 20-30 minutes to Tarragona, Reus, Cambrils, Port Aventura. Excursions were taken there, in BUS PLANA. It turns out much cheaper, and the hotel guide never came to the meeting on time (((. We did not come to wait for her in the hotel lobby.
And everything is very cool, thanks to the Best hotel chain!

We were in Spain for the first time, but we are familiar with the European service firsthand) The hotel was chosen based on the cost and location. They did not fail with the latter for sure, as it is located near several bays with good beaches, in the evening you can walk along the promenade or a shopping street with many shops.

The check-in was not very good, they brought us in a group, waited about an hour for check-in with a reference that the rooms were not ready yet, settled with a view of the street and windows to the windows with the opposite residential building (the whole life of the residents of which took place on their balconies). Animation no, the pool is small, the elevator can not wait.
The restaurant is located on the 0th floor, the food is rather the same type, but a couple of times we were pleased with dinners (there was sturgeon, shrimp and other sea filth). In the mornings, there was always champagne in the public domain, in the evenings, drinks were paid, lunches were not included with us, but you can change places and instead of dinner, take lunch. The pool is small. The sound in the rooms is terrible. We liked the resort itself, but we go for the sake of nature and the sea) There is a good base with excursions near the Basplan, you can get by public bus to Taragona, Barcelona and the surrounding area. Have a nice holiday everyone)

unsuccessful hotel for a family holiday - animation and loud music on site from 11.00 to 24.00, opposite the hotel across the road - Pachito disco, noise and din until 6-6.30 in the morning. There is no soundproofing in the rooms, closed windows do not help. You won't be able to sleep well day or night. housekeeping is good.

You won't be able to sleep well day or night. housekeeping is good. food is tasty and fresh. varied (several types of meat, fish, seafood, all kinds of fruits and desserts). The composition of the dishes is not indicated (which is important for people on a certain diet) - only the name. Drinks at dinner are paid. The restaurant on the -1 floor is almost always full of people and stuffy. and another unpleasant moment - they refused to extend the room on the day of departure (for the first time! ), although they promised to do it 2 days in advance. Russian-speaking employees change with locals every other day. conclusion: in my opinion, the wrong hotel for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Chose this hotel as the two scheduled ones were on the stop. The hotel is not located in the city center, as indicated in the description, but on the outskirts at the very entrance to Salou and at the crossroads of two roads and a night disco.
