I’ll start with the positives right away so that they don’t think that we write nasty things on purpose. Good location near the hotel on the sea, a small but green area. Clear sea, sandy beach. Of the minuses, there are few sunbeds by the sea, and they are occupied in the morning, throwing towels (but this, perhaps, is a question for the culture of vacationers, and not for the hotel). Arriving at 8 am, all the sunbeds were "occupied" with thrown towels.
The food is monotonous, but everyone will find something to their liking. I must say right away that I was poisoned there !! ! and ended up in the hospital, under a drip. I sin on an omelette (undercooked). But this is not the worst thing that happened to us in just 4 days of staying here.
Further worse. A 10-year-old child, coming out of the sea, almost at the very shore was "pricked" by a "sea dragon" fish (we all learned this much later). The child began to have a wild pain, and his leg began to spread. They immediately ran to the reception, asking to call the doctor, and explain who could bite / prick him. At the reception, they made round eyes, and said that nothing terrible had happened, and that the child was rolling from wild pain, just from the stone that he stepped on !!!! ! They don't have a doctor! And never was. And it is not customary for them to provide first aid, they say, according to the instructions, it is not supposed to, only to the hospital! Naturally, we asked for an ambulance. At this time, they tried to find out who had bitten him. A "resident" passing by briefly said that this is a WILDLY poisonous FISH (you can google it), from the injection of which a person can even get a heart attack (from pain), not to mention anaphylactic shock. And when providing first aid, the main thing is to lower the (injected) limb into BOILING WATER as soon as possible !!!! ! And at the reception they gave us ICE!!!!
A question to the hotel administration: if you do NOT have a doctor or a person who can provide first aid, YOU should at least be aware of the existence of such fish on the coast and DO NOT give ICE instead of BOILING WATER! And there should be at least instructions on how to act in such a situation, and not stand like idols, offering to drink water, instead of real help. The hotel was full of children. And when I asked why there is no medical center in a 5 * hotel, they answered me that it was too expensive for them!
And now think, WE pay not a little money for accommodation in 5 *, but in the end people save on the most important thing: the health of the residents!
Health to ALL!
I really hope that my review will be useful to someone, and people will at least know how to act when they are stung by such a poisonous fish!
1. The hotel somehow reminded me of our beloved Amara in Kemer: one building, a small area. But the service is worse. We didn’t particularly find fault, but we noticed some moments, because there is something to compare with. Upon arrival there were no bathrobes in the room. They told the guide - they brought it. They weren't cleaned very carefully. Linen and towels were changed regularly. But strange: in a double room in the bathroom there were 1 pc. shampoo, conditioner, etc. I see this for the first time. And one more thing: the maid literally a day later did not close the balcony door with a latch, and since we had a first floor, we did not like it. TV antediluvian. Russian channel - one. The safe was locked with a key, so you had to carry it along with the door card.
2. The beach at the hotel is narrow. Mostly sun loungers on the grass under the trees. True, by September the grass had already dried up in many places.
The shade from the palm trees moves and the sunbeds must be moved after the sun. There were always enough sun loungers: not by the sea, but by the pool.
The bottom is sandy and very flat. Ideal place for swimming with small children. The water is always clear, even when there were waves. It's just that the sand is dense and doesn't rise much.
There is a photo in the hotel brochure showing a volleyball net stretched across the beach. But this is pure deception, because the width of the beach is small and it is impossible for us to play.
3. We took only breakfast. Then they regretted that they did not take half board, because it was possible to change dinner for lunch and back. And do this every day. We liked the breakfasts. I will not list the menu, but you could always choose.
We went to the grocery store for food and water. There is one in front of the hotel. It works without a license, we didn't like it. To the left of the hotel there are two more shops, so-so, mediocre.
But if you go further to the left (10 minutes from the hotel), then on the opposite side there is a Market Express store. Everything's there. And you need to know that there are two floors (one even lower). Works from 7 am to 11 pm.
We went to dinner at the Aurora restaurant. It is necessary to go from the hotel to the right, without crossing the road. The owner and waiters of the restaurant are Russian-speaking. Delicious food, large portions.
4. Bus number 30 runs to Limassol every 15-20 minutes. The stop is to the left of the hotel on the same side (left-hand traffic). If you want to go to Paphos, Larnaca, you can use the Travel Express service. These are taxis. We ordered through reception. It turns out much cheaper than a regular taxi, and at the same time more convenient.
5. We went on only one excursion - to the Kykksky monastery. Most of the time was spent on the road. But they were satisfied.
My friend, who lives in Paphos, said that all the slopes of the mountains, which are now bare, immediately turn green after the first rains (they will begin in November). And in February-March there is generally beauty, everything blooms ...
6. There is no animation like in Turkey, but nevertheless, during the day there were sometimes some events in the pool, in the evening every day there was live music, dancers and a magician performed. Some day there is an outdoor screening of new films with popcorn.
Bottom line: at first we didn’t really like Cyprus. And after the tour, after a trip to a friend in Paphos (they showed us around the city), somehow it got better. New places are always interesting to see. We left sadly, it was still good there!
