Flight.
We flew on a large plane, everything was quite convenient, the only thing that did not pleasantly surprise us was a one-time meal for 12 hours of flight. Pegasus explains this by additional savings for the tour. . The second meal can be ordered about a day before departure on the airline's website (400 rubles).
Accommodation.
Hotel Coco Rio 3+, very nice, cozy hotel with great staff, the room has everything you need (hairdryer, bidet, shampoos, soap, well-functioning air conditioner, fan), cleaning and linen change every day, there is always tea, coffee at the reception , water, disposable tableware. The location of the hotel is very convenient, near the main walking street 5th Avenue, the beach is a 5-minute walk.
Nutrition.
The hotel provides a very light and unpretentious breakfast - a set of fruits, toast, butter, jam, tea or coffee, juice. Breakfast takes place in a nearby cafe, if breakfast is not enough, you can order something for yourself (for example, fried eggs from one egg 34 pesos (1 peso is equal to 3 rubles), we mostly ate in a cafe, the prices are different (for example, the cost of a caprese or Caesar salad is approximately 170 pesos, a decent second from 200 to 300 pesos), the portions are large, they cook very tasty.
Beach.
As I already wrote, the beach is 5 minutes from the hotel, the sea is very warm (28-29 degrees) but, to our great regret, it is not a transparent turquoise water, but something resembling a soup of sargasso seaweed....As it turned out, now this is a very big problem for the entire Caribbean Sea, a huge amount of sargasso algae is thrown onto the coast and floats in whole fields in the sea (the same situation in Kakuna). Algae are practically not removed from the coastal strip, they are simply buried in the sand, but because a huge number of them simply cannot cope with them, and they lie along the coastal strip and quietly go out for themselves... for us it was a very unpleasant surprise, but we adapted to this sad natural phenomenon and actively engaged in visiting excursions and parks.
Tours.
We visited Chichen Itza, swam in cenotes (excursion cost $ 100 with lunch), went to the amazing Adrenalin Maya extreme park (flyed zip-lines, swam in an underground river and literally drove quad bikes through the jungle, the cost of the excursion was $ 60 , including lunch), visited the island of Women (by the way, there was a very beautiful sea without algae), and of course, spent an unforgettable day in Xcaret Park (124 dollars with lunch). there is a lot of information about it on the Internet, I’ll just say that you definitely need to visit it and not for half a day, as many advise, but for the whole day . . by the way, the main show that takes place in the park in the evening is complete crap (this is the only thing I didn’t like there )…
And in the end, I want to say that Mexico is an amazingly interesting and beautiful country, and if you treat natural disasters with understanding, I think that nothing can spoil your vacation. I wish everyone optimism in any situation and of course good luck...
