I knew that the sea was not warm, I didn’t even think about it - according to the description, the hotel has heated pools at that time... Zadornov again... Germans or Swiss see a sign near the pool - air 26, water 25. They are used to order ! They believe in him! "Kalt"! the first word of anyone who touches the water in the pool. . . but "order" - so it is! Ahh Hee! This is the most international phrase constantly sounding. The country has gone through a revolution, as the organization meeting the tour says... When you go through customs, you stand in line to get a visa... they put a stamp in your passport worth $ 15, but they demand 17 from you. Do you disagree with this? Please go to the nearby state kiosks and buy for 15, but for some reason it is closed... And for some reason I notice this not for the first time) Let's go back to the hotel . . It looks like I'm sleepwalking... and strange - I seem to be at night I get up, destroy all the stocks of the mini bar, and having jumped off the 2nd floor, I diligently bury the cans and bottles in the sand, which is good, I don’t remember anything in the morning! But this is judging by the reports of the servants, to whom I left 2 Am. rubles daily. As a result, judging by the total balance, I am not yet very prone to "sleepwalking" - well, on average, once every three days... I need to see the doctor. The rest was a success - in fact, I did not expect more - the hotel is pleasant for people involved in Kite boarding - it's beautiful, believe me. Also, if you are German, Swiss and believe in the numbers that are written and you apparently have nowhere to go... or it's terribly inexpensive... Well, something like this. P. S. return - on the plane, I saw the faces of people who returned from the war - wounded by the ALL inclusive drunk, similar to the brake fluid used in aviation... they somehow found their places uncertainly or simply fell into the aisle... It seemed to me that I 5 hours was in the air medical sobering station War, all inclusive)))
+ excellent food
+ good friendly staff
+ excellent beaches, there is a lagoon
-rooms a bit over time
- the territory is so big that it is far from the main restaurant
To begin with, the weather at this time of the year is colder there than, for example, in Sharm (in which we had previously rested for 5 years in a row on New Year's holidays), there is a strong wind and very cold in the evenings. Be sure to take warm clothes. During the day, it’s good to lie on the beach and swim in the heated pools, but even the animator who led the water aerobics climbed into the pool with no particular pleasure. But still we got a good tan and swam. After 15-00 you can already safely dress.
The hotel is really not new, but the territory is well-groomed and green, and the rooms are quite decent and very large (compared to European hotels with miserable rooms and toilets).
We did not swim in the sea, because. it was cold, but many people even with children swim, and the bottom there is not at all muddy and without algae. The channels themselves are made with an underground artificial system of constant water movement, which does not allow them to stagnate, so there is clean water and nothing stinks!
In the hotel itself, the food is good, you can dine in one of the restaurants - basically (where breakfast is served) or Limone, which is a level higher, food is always beautifully served there, and live music is played in the evenings. For example, we alternated dinner in these restaurants.
What, of course, was very striking was their Marina lagoon (to which we always traveled from the hotel for 10 pounds by tuk tuk - a transport designed for 2 people), which is so clean and beautiful that you don’t even believe that you are in Egypt . Something reminded me of Monte Carlo by the yachts that were there. And of course the service is top notch.
In the very center of the city of El Gouna DounTown you can walk on foot for a walk, for example, have lunch. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that you can safely walk everywhere and not be afraid of the Arabs, who in Sharm and Hurghada are very annoying and arrogant. It's not like that at all here, although sometimes we met.
It was not clear to me where so many Arabs are resting in the hotel - either they bring their local rich people there, or from other countries....but it became unpleasant that they constantly stare at beautiful girls, and once they even sat and filmed me on their phones, as I go to the pool to swim - of course, it was not very pleasant for me.
But in general, the impression was very good about the rest, I think in the future, if we choose between El Gouna and Sharm, then we will go to El Gouna.
About the good: the whole resort, as well as the territory of the Moevenpick hotel, is really very green. There are really a lot of channels, although I would not swim in them, because the bottom is muddy, overgrown with small algae. I did not feel an unpleasant smell, although the water there is hardly running.
Specifically about the hotel: in terms of level, it’s more like 3 *, not five, everything is very simple, somehow even a little bit scary ...The territory, albeit green, is not particularly well-groomed, in general the hotel leaves the impression of desolation and slight abandonment.
Weather: it was much more windy on the beach than on the same day in Hurghada, but I think you should not draw conclusions based on one day ...Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about food - we didn’t try it.
In general, I am very glad that I did not go there for all 10 days.
If there is an opportunity to spend more - and tours to El Gouna are significantly more expensive than, say, Sharm, Hurghada, Taba, etc. - I think it's better to go to a more interesting country, or spend money on additional excursions or services.
Good luck!
